A total scam
Gator tail trailers does not exists. Paid 700 down and went to pick it up in south georgia.
Find out its diamond cargo trailers. Total junk. Never in my life seen a more sorry trailer in my life.
Paid 700 down to the owner of what i thought was gator tail trailers. When I refuse to take the trailer he would not give me my money back avoided all my calls do not deal with this crook
Happy with no complaints
I contacted them to find out they had one of the only 16' x 8.5' enclosed trailers with barn door style back doors that could be found anywhere that I didn't have to order. I gave him a deposit over the phone and drove all the way down from just west of St Louis to south Georgia to pick it up.
It was exactly as he told me it would be and in less than an hour we had paperwork complete and had it hooked up and I drove back to St Louis that day. Been using it 5 days a week ever since with no complaints! I'm a remodeling contractor so it is stocked and carries a pretty good load everyday.
I've gone as far as 8 hours away with it fully loaded and I'll pull it along at 80-85 mph and it trails great. Actually went back to the site looking at possibly ordering another one.
Best trailer best price
All the comments bogus, AAA rating with BBB, check it out, competition cannot compete so they post lies. Best price, best quality
Was going to buy a Trailer, not now.
Thanks guys for your reviews. I was fixing to order a trailer.
But after reading the reviews, I have change my mind. Just talking with the guy over the phone, he didn't sound very polite. He didn't even know what he had in inventory or what was advertised on the website. I'm not driving 10 hours to pick up a trailer to get there and find a piece of junk.
I hope the company reads the reviews and changes their policies, because here is one customer they just lost.
Customer service is very important if you want to stay in business. You wont make it far when you have a lot of complaints piling up on the internet.
Very rude people.
We needed some information on a trailer, that we bought from someone that bought from them. The guy who must have been the owner of Gator Tail Trailers, was so rude and angry.
After asking a few simple questions. There was no reason for the rude or angry tone. I would never ever, buy from this company. The trailer is *** too.
Cheaply built and the roof dents with pea size hail. Would not take much for it to open up too. Let alone, the flooring feels very weak. We will have to redo the whole thing, to make it stronger.
I would stay clear of this company, they're not helpful and the quality of their trailers are very poor. This trailer is not even 6 monhs old hardly. We didn't really look at the quality of this trailer when we bought, just the size. Our biggest regret.
I see why the guy we bought it from, sold it. Not built well at all.
Gatortail trailers aka Enclosed Trailers for Less rip off. Stole $500 from me
Beware of Gatortail trailers aka Enclosed Trailers for Less. On November 14th 2014 they ripped me off for $500.
On July 8th 2014 I spoke to Lee Davis, owner of Gatortail trailers. I bought an enclosed car trailer he advertised online on his web site for a total of $4,804. He said it would take 1 to 2 weeks to build. I agreed and gave him my credit card to charge a $500 deposit.
I told him I would come from Minnesota to pick up the trailer on August 16th. Lee said “No problem. Five weeks is more than enough time.” He gave me the phone number to Tina, his manager at his factory in Georgia. Lee’s dealership is located in Tampa Florida I called her 2 days before we left Minnesota to drive to Ocilla Georgia to pick up the trailer.
She said “What? Why? Your trailer has not even been started yet.” I told her to look at my invoice where it said when I would come to get it. She said “Sorry” Lee told her not to start it until then.
I told her it would be a few more months until I can get vacation time to drive 2,600 miles to get it and bring it home again. She said that’s fine just give her 10 days’ notice to build it and it will be ready. Tina asked me to deal with her directly this time so I did. 3 weeks ago I called her and said I can come pick it up on November 13th.
She said that’s fine it will be ready. 2 days before I left she said they had delays because an employee cut his thumb off on a table saw. I said I understood and expressed concern for the injured employee. I asked if he hurt himself on my trailer.
She said no they haven’t even started on my trailer yet. She said “for sure it will be ready early on Friday the 14th” 2014. My wife and I left on the 1,300 mile each way trip on Wednesday. On Friday morning when we left the hotel 40 miles away from Ocilla GA I called Tina and said we will be there in a little bit.
She said she has to check on the trailers progress and she will call me right back. She did not. I called her an hour later after breakfast and she said it won’t be ready until 2pm. I asked “You’ve had 5 months to build it and you knew I was coming and it still wasn’t done?” She said she was sorry but it will be ready for sure at 2pm.
I found stuff to do to kill 4 hours and let me tell you there is not much to do I rural Georgia towns but I was OK because I was excited to get my trailer. We showed up at 2pm and all the doors to enter the factory were locked. We found an open garage door leading to the upper lever to the shop. There were 2 trailers inside an area about the size of a football field.
70% of the space was filled with junk and garbage. One of the trailers was ours. I could tell because of the escape door and color. It was still unfinished missing part of the inside and exterior screws.
We waited looking at the trailer for about ½ hour in the dark using our cell phone flashlights. About 200 feet away there were three workers working on a different trailer. We asked if there was an office but they did not respond. We walked around this giant warehouse/factory looking for an office.
This falling apart abandoned building was about the size of a city block and had a total of about 6 trailers in it. The inside looked like no factory we have ever seen. It was falling apart and mostly full of junk and garbage, dark and FILTHY! We saw an elevated 2nd story office with a light on.
We walked toward it. Upstairs we found Tina. We introduced ourselves. She said “It’s still not ready”.
I asked why. She became defensive and said “It’s not my fault. I tell them to work on it and they don’t.” She said “wait here and I will see how long”. I said we will come with as it’s a long way to where the trailer is.
She said in that case let’s take care of the final payment now. I had most of the remaining $4,300 in cash. I said I want to see the completed trailer in the light before I pay. Tina said we can’t go see the trailer first.
She left into the shop. We went back to where the trailer was. When we got to the trailer she said “you can’t be here”. It’s now 4pm and they are now throwing it together fast screwing wood and gluing stuff to the inside.
Their poor quality showed. The side door frame had gaps in it. There was a basketball size bend/dent in the metal near the left fender near the escape door. The plywood inside had gaps.
I told Tina we were leaving because it was still not ready. She said “I don’t care we will just sell it to someone else”. She then tried to call Lee Davis but he couldn’t be reached because he was a car show she said. She left back to the office.
Moments later we followed to the office. On the way I began to take pics of this “factory”. It looked like something from a horror movie. My wife became concerned about our safety at this point.
I wanted our $500 back. I began to record on my cell phone camera. I asked Tina about refunding our deposit. On recording she said our $500 will be refunded.
We then left. I have worked in shops my whole life and I have been involved in OSHA inspections in the past. This place is so far from safe no one should have to work like this. There were more violations than I could count.
An employee lost a thumb earlier in the week. We left Georgia and over the next 3 days I tried several times to get Lee on the phone to confirm he was going to do as Tina said and refund my card the $500. After 10+ calls he answered. I calmly explained what happened.
I didn’t even mention the quality issues. I asked him to refund me because Tina said I would be refunded and because yet again the trailer was not complete. Lee hung up on me. I tried several more times to call Lee.
Today I called Gatortail Trailers from different phone # and guess what? Lee answered. I asked him when he was going to refund my $500 since we traveled 2,600 miles and the trailer was still not complete. Lee hung up on me again.
Now I plan to contact the BBB, post beware messages online, post a beware ad in Trailer Trader, and send a certified letter including pictures to OSHA.
Does anyone have any more ideas of what else I can do to get my lost $$ back? Thanks in advance.
- That i was ripped off

Gatortail Trailer/Enclosedtrailersforless Severe Quality problems
We ordered a trailer from Gatortail on 9/15/16. We had a similar experience to some of the other reviewers, the trailer was not ready when promised.
Unfortunately we didn't read the other reviews until after we had problems. The delivery promise was a problem, however, the biggest problem is the poor quality. After waiting past the promised time, my driver picked the trailer up and when he delivered it, we observed bent doors, crinkled roofs, cheap materials, and bowed wood. The door must have been dropped before being installed on the trailer.
The roof was installed wrong and buckled and bowed. The plywood lining the interior was installed wrong and buckled. The roof was also dented, possibly when the roof rack was installed. I am a former home inspector, and these observations are all the result of improper workmanship.
In addition, the fender flares are so thin and installed with so little support, that one was dented within 24 hours. Overall, this trailer is made with the poorest possible quality and cheapest possible materials. On 9/28/16, I wrote to Lee about these issues, and sent him the attached pictures, and he didn't even have the decency to respond to my email. Bottom line: even if it costs $800 more, buy your trailer from someone else.
This guy is doesn't deserve anyone's business. Since i sent him an email, Lee could read this review, and look me up and try to make it right.
If he does, I'll delete this review. If it's still here, you know what that means...

Gatortail Trailers - Customer Care Review from Youngsville, North Carolina
They had originally told us that picking the trailer up on a weekend would t be a problem then when we said we would be down the following Saturday they said it would be a $50 charge... The big deal is my husband is in the military and would have to take leave in order to avoid the $59 charge which wasn't mentioned before placing be deposit....
Then when had an associate double check she said yes it would still be $50 for a weekend pick up... You know it's one thing for a "company" to not be opened on the weekend but for that not to have been said initaially and told it wasn't a problem is an issue...
Yeah they're cheaper than most companies but as far as customer service they're not about it only about that all mighty dollar... just sad to be treated like ***...
Gator tail lied about size
Ordered a 24ft trailer with v nose. Was told the box was 24 and the v nose was 2 1/2 ft.
I needed every inch of that space and specifically asked lee davis to have someone measure one to make sure of the size. He assured me it was. Well guess what ; it was 3 " short and I couldnt use it. I didnt register it and requested to bring it back and buy a bigger trailer.
I called and he said he would check with the factory. Again ! called again ! Told the same lame *** reply.
He is a bs artist and once he has your money ; your done. Plenty of trailer companies out there ; use someone else.

I also was robbed by Rick Wolfe atGator Tail Trailers.
I ordered an enclosed trailer on 1/17/2014 from Rick Wolfe at Gatortail Trailers. I gave him a credit card deposit and was told the trailer would be ready in 2 to 3 weeks.
2 to 3 weeks went to 5 to6 weeks. then at aprox 8 weeks I drove an hour and a half to pickup the trailer and it was the wrong size. I ordered a 7ft Height and they built a 6ft.. I drove another hour and a half home.
Rick assured me a refund. Obviously was not going to re-order from them.
Well over a year later I have not received my deposit. These guys are crooks.
