I am actually shocked to read all these negative reviews. I just booked my 12th trip with Gate 1, have recommended to many friends who have all loved as well. A lot of these complaints seem to be about losing deposits or not getting money for cancellation - this is pretty standard in the industry I think. I don’t buy insurance with Gate 1, but I do make sure I have really good insurance with my credit card, personal travel insurance through a couple providers as well. I actually won’t travel with any other company.

Hello, Porterage is included in every lodging. Some are slower to get the luggage to the individual rooms, and we always make it known and allow any guests to carry their own if they wish to have it faster than the hotel can provide the service.

We understand there was no mention of your injury to your tour manager.

As already advised, despite our efforts on your behalf, we were unable to secure any refund from our supplier. Travel insurance would have offered some protection had you seen a doctor locally.

Hello, While we want to sell you the vacation you want, the Groupon vouchers are sold for a specific product with specific departures dates that may vary in price. For this reason, we are unable to simply switch you to a different trip and you must make the exchange with Groupon.

As you mentioned, you were affected by weather, it is for this reason we offer travel protection. As for any lapse in service, we do apologize and have shared your comments with the appropriate individuals.

After reading the Gate 1 reviews, there is only a slim chance I would book them. I completely understand and sympathize with the Gate 1 customers that were not treated well in their trip.

I’d rather pay something more than get treated like Gate 1. I will mostly steer clear.

All information about wheelchairs and aids is clearly spelled out on their website. If you were planning on taking one on a bus tour it would have been wise to check this out at time of booking.
