Ganley trains Theives, not salesmen; They robbed us.

Ganley sales reps and financial reps must have a difficult time sleeping nights. At the first showroom I visited, in Parma I expressed my satisfaction with the last car I bought there, and how pleased I've been with the service dept there. Sales rep Michele took that as a green light to try to sell me everything but what I specifically asked for. We spoke to the finance guy, whose name escapes me, and I was assured that on a 72 month loan I would get a monthly payment within my budget. (Note: I was approved for credit in 20 minutes) Problem is, I am looking for a 60 month loan on a car that they don't have, nor can they get one! The next week I proceeded to Ganley dealership #2 in North Olmsted where I met Amy. We discussed the car I was looking for, the options I need (none, just your basic 4 tires and a motor) and she had the car I had in mind on the lot. (Note: Ganley Parma could not find the car AnyWhere) I test-drove the car, and went home to think about it. The next day I took a friend to see what kind of "deal" I could get on the car I wanted to buy. Things went well until I mentioned my target amount for monthly payment. It seems they had some trouble with bank approval, it sure was taking a long time, but I was assured Chase was the only bank they deal with, and that I would be approved "in 20 minutes". All I needed to do was to make a deposit. So I wrote a check (DUH!slaps forehead) While we waited, I was treated to mud-slinging aimed at other dealerships, and Amy said "I'm on your side". I met Sandy, in financing, who shook a paper in my face calling other dealers "Liars", and the ultimate: moaning about how Hard she was Working on my approval! Then Sandy said "We're on your side"!?!I went home sick, not yet having approval on the loan, worried about whether I was doing the right thing. Sunday I took another friend to the car lot for an opinion on the "deal". What I found out shocked me. They were closed and we had free-rein to look over the cars at our leisure. Somehow, some way the stock number on the invoice I'd received Was Not The Same as the car I had driven! Monday at 1:00 pm, I called Amy to get some answers. "Sorry, No word YET!" I then told her that I need an answer, I am not comfortable with this, I'd like to change my mind. At 4:30 pm I called again and was put through to voice mail. I am not proud of the message I left, but I made myself clear; I changed my mind! Two minutes later the call came in, and it was Happy Amy, Happy to say I was Approved, OH, how Hard we Worked to get approval from (Not Chase!?) I went to the dealership after work (I thought) to pick up my check, but Amy had gone home. Sandy said she'd have John call me in the morning. You know, he didn't call, so I headed back to the dealership and as I was driving, I called one more time and left a voice message. Sandy called me back. We repeated the conversation we had the night before, ending with me asking to be given a time to pick up my check. John called me with a great deal, which I declined. Again, I am not proud of that conversation, frustration took over. Then John told me that my deposit is not refundable. Why didn't Amy tell me Saturday, or Monday? Why didn't Sandy say that Monday, or Tuesday? Why did John try to spin me a new deal before he told me? Please beware of these people! They do not care about selling cars, they will get your money in many other ways. The next day I got a voice mail from Happy Amy, wondering when I want to pick up my new car. NEVER! That's when!

Any success in small claims? I might be involved in the SAME problem.

THESE PEOPLE ARE CROOKS! Any advice would be helpful.

same thing happened to us, we put over a thousand down and after a week of them trying to sell us on every other car besides the one we wanted, I decided to cancel. I got the same response .."down payment is not refundable"...bunch of f'n crooks.

I should have known when they would not even discuss anything with me till they pulled my credit.Since then I have spoke to various friends who work at different dealerships who have sold cars, people have drove them for a couple days , and brought them back for a FULL refund! problems.Take my warning with these crooks, make sure you test drive THE CAR you are going to buy BEFORE they lock you into this one-sided contract, otherwise they will do the old bait and switch on you. These people are class-less.The war is not over though...will be filing in small claims (rocky river) to see if I can get my money back. will repost if I'm successful

Where's "Crime Stoppers" when you need them?
