I PURCHASED A FIRE ARM AND DID SO UNDER PRESSURE DUE TO A SALES MAN STATING THERE WOULD BE A 6 mo wait if not purchased now,,after changing my schedule and rushing down to get it,a week later they have another one for sale..my wife is a permitted to carry a side ARM and at this same time of pick up my wife stood at the counter invisible to any clerk, the gun she wanted she just decided against buying at grander mountain in rothchild wi. I had a problem with my weapon I purchased and grander would not step up they said they would send it in..I just bought a brand new weapon and it has to be returned..spoke to the store mgr and he had absolutely no answers or apologies,I called to get the no for some one above him to get some women who gave me the run around..I took care of the problem my self and I have wasted more time to get some one to recognize the problem.

Chaos buying ammunition
I stood in line to buy a few boxes of .22. When the store opened people ran to the back. The store didn't even take the ammo out of the cases. People were fighting grabbing cases and cases of ammo. There was no limit some people grabbed $3000 worth of ammo. I managed to grab a bulk pack of 223 for $129.00. Someone was mad and said "you can sell that for double online".. cmon gander limit what people can buy so everyone can get some ammo. There is a shortage here and new York and people are buying it all to resell it, not use it. I overheard people saying *** they make thousands going to your stores and buying all the ammo and marking it up.Take care of your customers. There was a woman who wasn't strong enough to fight to grab ammo and she got nothing. The store just leaves the ammo in the cases in carts and let's the customers fight over it. Do something now! Deceptive sale advertising
Gander Mountain in Greenwood, Indiana practices deceptive sales advertising. Last Thursday, 26 Oct 2012, I bought two sweaters off what appeared to be a sale rack. I had bought other items so when they rang up, it seems high but I didn't look at the receipt until I got home. I discovered I paid full price for one of the sweaters. I went back today to check the rack closer, only one style was on sale. I told them there was a bunch of the same style of sweaters on the same rack as the sale sweaters. Their excuse was that they only have so many arms to put clothes on and insulted me by pointing to the sign for the style that was on sale. Really? This is practically a bait and switch. You just got on my no-shop list and I will be telling everyone I know not to shop in ANY of your stores.

Zeor Customer Support
Don't know if this will get to the correct person(David Pratt) but thought I would send along my experience with Gander Mountain and my latest comment/questions to customer support at Gander Mountain which follows. ----------------------------------------------------- I purchased a handgun from the location in Amarillo, Tx back in April. At the time I was told that I could not buy the pistol unless I also purchased the Gander Mountain extended warranty at an additional cost. Soon there were problems with the pistol and since being forces to buy the warranty I returned it to the Amarillo location for reapair(huge mistake) this has been right at 9 weeks ago. I have called weekly since the 3 week or so just to see if I can get a status update on when possibly it might be returned. Each time until today I was told that they were contacting the repair center and would get back with me, which never happened. Now they say they can't tell me anything and cannot get a status and will only know anything when and if they receive it back. I have had a few things repaired at a local gunsmith shop and nothing has ever taken more than a week and that was due to parts order and I reveiced notice that it was going to take that long. If I would have been smart I would have never returned this to the Gander Mountain store and would have just paid to have it done locally myself. Of course I do see now after sending a few of questions/comments to Gander Mountain's main contact/feedback and not receiving any response that this must just be the culture at Gander Mountain not only being over priced but providing "Zero Customer Support". I also posted several reviews online and will not be doing business with Gander Mountain in the future. At this point I think I am just out the money spent on this product and most likley will never see this handgun I purchased again. If so I need to find out the procedure on how to have the paperwork corrected to reflect this, don't want someone else using the weapon and have my name attached to it.

Gander Mountain failure to notify when they said they would
After waiting 12 days for a shipment (fishing reel), I called Gander, spoke to customer service, was told he(Ean) would investigate and call me back with an answer. He never did. I called them back a couple of days later, now I was told that the reel is no longer available. She(Hanna) went on to say (like it was my fault) that this was reflected in their online catelog. Duh! That was not true on June28 when I ordered, not to mention not being notified. Why I ever thought about trying them over Bass Pro, hmmmmm, guess I am the real dummy. I will not make that mistake again, Gander sucks.

Awful Customer Service!
Gander's service dept. is just down right awful. This product description (2" Storm Swim Shads) originally stated there was 6 included in a pack, but they in fact sent me a 3 pack. This was a great deal at this price, with free shipping and all. I assumed I would be getting 6, as I had seen other websites that they do indeed come in 6 packs. I then called and questioned about why I received a 3 pack in the mail when the website lists 6 (They now changed and edited the page by the way). After a short phone session, I didn't get a call back until two days later. You would think they would say, "No problem sir, this is our fault, we'll send you another 3 pack", but NO, they pushed me off and told me basically sorry about my luck. How is it my fault that they put 6 on their website when it was supposed to be 3? It's not like I was trying to catch them on a technicality or get something free out of the deal, I just want what I ordered. Very disappointing. If it wasn't for their free shipping, I wouldn't buy here.

Gander Mountain...Miss priced product
Tried to buy a Ruger SR-22 rifle which was priced at 279.99. Filled out all the paper work and was about to check out when they decided the gun was 549.99. They claimed the gun had been priced wrong and would not honor the price tag that was actually on the gun. That in my opinion is false advertisement and they should have honored the price tag on the gun. The service associate agreed with me but the manager said he would loose his job if he honored that price. I will not do business with Gander Mountain anymore. Hello Academy!

Gander Moutain Customer Service SUCKS!!!
A really nice hunting pack was bought for me by my mother-in-law for my birthday from Gander Mountain. The strap on it broke as I was hiking in the mountains on a hunting trip. My mother-in-law couldn't find the receipt for it. I thought, no big deal, I'm sure they'll still replace it. They wouldn't want to lose a lifetime customer over one backpack right?!?! WRONG!!! They told me they saw the purchase under my mother-in-law's name onlline so they would replace the pack.... I had to pay for shipping to ship my broken pack to them (unacceptable) and they sent me an incorrect backpack to replace it that was much cheaper and lower quality. I called customer service and the woman (Heather Williams) was extremely rude and said there is nothing they can do unless I can get my mother-in-law to find a receipt for proof-of-purchase. So now I have NO RECEIPT AND THEY HAVE MY BROKEN BACKPACK!!! I had no proof that I owned this pack anymore so I wrote an email to customer service complaining about the mix-up and gave them 2 options 1) send me back my broken pack so i have proof that i own it 2) send me the CORRECT replacement backpack. THEY CHOSE OPTION 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What kind of place sends a customer their broken item back instead of replacing it????? In that email I also told Heather to forward it to her supervisor and I specifically requested confirmation from that supervisor that they were aware of the situation. It has been 2 days since I received a reply from Heather saying that she sent it to her supervisor, so two days since the supervisor got my email AND STILL NO RESPONSE!!!!! I used to shop there all the time, and just last year my father-in-law bought me a rifle from there that was $800. I can tell you that I'll never shop there again and this is just one of many stops on several blogs to share my experience.

Gander Mountain has no clue!
Ordered from Gander Mtn. web site a muzzell loader. At order time it showed back ordered till 10/4/11. That was fine with me and got a call the day after I ordered online from a GM rep to confirm order and make sure I knew of b/order date. He advised it would by shipped by 10/6/11. Called GM 10/6 to make sure and rep said "O, this order was cancelled". I said not by me and he placed me on hold; only to be transferred to "weapons" area to another rep only to start over. Robert tells me that GM is not getting any more in and they canelled order, sorry we did not let you know. Wonder just how long I would have waited to here; if I had not followed up. They offered no help in replacing the order with another option, nothing......SO STAY CLEAR OF BACK ORDERED ITEMS THIS HOLIDAY SEASON @ GM!!

Gander Mountain
I have repeatedly requested, and even demanded, that my name be removed from Gander Mountain's mailing list. After two years, I still receive unwanted catalogs and offers. I made a one-time purchase for my grandson at a local retail store, and all of a sudden I receive constant unwanted mail. The request to remove me from Gander Mountain's mailing list was even mailed to the North Carolina address. I will now file a complaint with the Mississippi AG's office. I will never purchase another item from Gander Mountain because they are trying to shove their offers/catalogues down my throat. Nowhere on their web page do they allow a consumer to remove name from mailing list...only by mail, which I did, and was still ignored.

Gander Mountain is a Ripoff....
Think Gand Mountain and think of price gouging and poor service..... I just shopped at Gander Mountain for a new Bond Arms Derringer.
They were over $120.00 more than Cabela's for the exact same product. Also over $100.00 over the listed price from Bond Arms. I spoke with the customer service agent and told them of the variance in price. With all arrogance, the store clerk responded that he did not doubt it.
What a total ripoff.... Avoid Gander Mountain at all costs.
They are just not that good. I will never ever step foot or recommend Gander Mountain to anyone.

GANDER MOUNTAIN KEEPS YOU ON A LEASH WITH A SMALL BILL
I bought a Springfield Armory XD 45 and first of all it cost 600$ when every other store was selling it for $450, but i needed to finance it. Then when I received my first bill it said they will beat any price. Little too late now! Also, you can only pay the bill by mail, so if you have anything hinder you from sending it like the ARMY, then you have to shell out a $29 fee. GANDER MOUNTAIN SUCKS! I got my gun financed for $600 and I still owe $250 on it 1 year later. They are blood suckers!

They followed policy in your case, the kid was being up front, most manufacturers are running 12-18 months behind at this point!
If you have been aware of the recent 'run' on guns, you'd know that the clerk was probably being straight with you when he said it might be 6 months before it would be available again. The handgun section of most gun shops are 80% empty because they can't get guns.
If they had another to sell the next week, it was probably just pure luck on their part that they got one. As far as problems with the gun, since guns are regulated by BATFE, most dealers will not just swap guns with you like they might for a bad TV.
The proper approach is to return it to the manufacturer and can be done yourself simply by calling them and arrangements will be made to send it back. I see nothing wrong done by Gander in this case.
