I Went And Got 3 Sandwich On Wednesday When I Got Back To Work!! 2 Sandwich Paper Was Ripe And All In The Sandwich!!

I Had To Throw Away!! I Called Deli Manager, He Said Its Some Paper That Was Not Good That They Got On The 4th Of July!! He Said To Come In And He Will Make Them!! I Called On Friday To Speak To Him To Get The Sandwich He Was Going To Replace And He Wasn't There!!

I Spoke To Store Manager, She Is Unprofessional And Attitude Is Crazy!! She Left Me On Hold More Than 11 Minutes To Tell Me She Couldn't Do Them I Will Have To Get The Money Back Because Deli Manager Wasn't There!! But She is The Store Manager, She Could have Done The Sandwich!!! I Will Get My Money Back And Will Never Shop In This Store Again!!!

I Have Worked Retail And Supermarkets!!

Attitude And Being Unprofessional Will Get You Nowhere And Make You Look Stupid!!! Value The Customers That Come To Shop At Your Store!!!

User's recommendation: Check Everything Before Leaving Store!!

  • - Gala charges for grocery bags at checkout.
  • - Bag charges were $0.27 per bag during the ban; competitors do not charge for bags.

My complaint is that this supermarket, like many others but not all, charge their customers for grocery bags at checkout. Not only do they charge us a fee, they also overcharge at Gala, and they justify their charge.

The other "crook" stores charge $0.05 per bag, Gala was charging $0.27 per bag when the new law was passed for the plastic bag ban and the bags were "PLASTIC". The bags they are charging for now is still not a paper bag but still remains to be a bag that looks plastic. I am reporting them to the state to come and investigate their store regarding this matter.

Gala along with some other stores should be ashamed of charging their loyal customers for a bag(s) at check out. This is a choice to charge the customers a fee for the grocery bags at check, because their other retail competitors such as TARGET, TRADER JOE'S, and DOLLAR TREE.

These competitors show gratitude and appreciation their customer's business and do not charge a fee for their bags at check out. You should show that same gratitude for your customers. Help uplift the community of brown, black and latinos (low-middle class people) whom you make your money from.

We know supermarkets are a multi-million dollar business, we know you can afford to give us this appreciation!!. FYI, remember your customers have taken a hit from the COVID-19, many have lost their jobs but the supermarkets have been doing greatly, this is one fee that your company should pick up from your loyal customers.

Pros:
  • Produce
  • Fresh rolls
Cons:
  • Management not the most courteous
  • Over price
  • Charge fee for grocery bags

Preferred solution: To strongly suggest to management to eliminate the fee for the grocery bags.

User's recommendation: My recommendation is that customers show make a complaint to the manager to the store and to Albany about this fee. The Manager should discontinue this outrageous fee immediately.
