G W and Son Auto Body - Car Repair Review from Edmond, Oklahoma

It tames way to long. I have been there rwice. Each time the car has been there over a month and each time I was told the wrong part was sent. They obviously did not check when they received the parts or else they wsre giving me bs. It appears the rental car will cost me more than the repairs. I will not be back. Also I called 4 times to find out status of my car and only could getvthe repair .an once

Untimely and uncommunicative

Apparently this outfit is the only certified body shop for several makes of luxury autos in the entire state. Seemingly as a result of this fact they do not feel the need to do timely repairs or communicate with their customers re the status of the repair work. I took my MINI Cooper in for work on September 1st, it is now October 15th and I am hopeful the car may be ready to be picked up today. Forty-five days, a month and a half. No one from G W & Son called to explain why the repair was taking so long. We always had to call them. Not until last week when we were told the car would be ready on Friday and it was not and I called to complain did Christy, the office manager, say that she would call this week with an update (she did finally call). When asked why there was no communication for over a month her excuse was that she had some sort of ankle injury. Surely, there are other workers in the office that can make a simply courtesy phone call. A month and and half is simply too long for this repair, all I hear are excuses as to why the delay, no responsibility on their part. I am quite certain that if I had not become upset then the car would probably still not be ready. The insurance company and the auto dealer both say that this is typical for G W & Son. I strongly recommend avoiding this company

Completely Professional and competent

Very professional operation. I was impressed from the first phone call to the completion of the repairs. Everything was up front and done as indicated in a timely and professional manner. The results were terrific and my BMW looks as good as new. Great explanation of what needed to be done and why and timely interaction with the insurance company. Thank you for you for the great work. I first went to GW & Son because another body shop game me the run around as did the insurance company of the person who hit my car. GW&S assisted me in wading through all of that.

Bad customer service

We brought my Wife's Smart car in for $650 worth of body work at GW & Sons Auto Body, after the car was in the shop for almost 6 weeks I stopped by to see about the car when they said they were replacing the rim after the alignment none of which was on the original estimate and the new total for the repairs $2,950.00, when I went in to find out about those repairs and who authorized them because no one told us about anything else being wrong with the car they got real defensive and I explained we owned the car and not them and we would have like to make the decision on what was to be repaired on the car. All of a sudden a lady comes out of the back area and starts to talk to me about the car, when I asked who gave them a blank check to do all the additional repairs she called me a smart ***, so I decided to leave because I could see this wasn't going anywhere, as I open the door to leave she called me an ***, so I went back in and told her that wasn't very professional and she called me a smart *** and *** again and started yelling at me to take my goddam car and proceeded to chase me out of their parking lot screaming at me. I kept waiving her off and didn't say anything to her. Below is the response from owner. Mr. Vezina, I was under the impression the issue was resolved, based on the conversation between our staff and I believe your wife. My findings were, Tammy admitted to losing her composure, according to her and most of the rest of our office staff it was only after you drew "first blood". GW&Son does not condone these actions, but the fact that this is the first instance in a twenty-nine year history of servicing the OKC/Edmond motorists auto body needs I am inclined to believe this action was prompted by your first, second or third use of malicious accusations aimed at belittling those involved. With that, I apologize that your choice of vernacular's triggered Tammy's less than professional response. It is my understanding that MBOKC should have the SMART CAR seat assembly installed and ready for delivery before end of business today, I believe your wife and our staff has been in communication on the status. and my response WOW That’s just incredible that the customer is totally at fault, so I should be apologizing to you and your staff for them swearing at me, yelling at me and chasing me out of your shop, I guess at your business the customer is never right. As for our car, we gave up on ever getting the car fixed completely after 6 weeks of being at your shop we have made an appointment with another body shop to complete the repairs of the loose body panels that rattle, over spray on the roof and the paint scuff on the bumper.
