Liers, cheaters, scammers - you name it

Beware of anything that looks nice in the pictures, because after it's assembled at your home they take no responsibility, no returns, no refunds and no service. I ordered a bedroom and after 2 delivery guys tried to assembled it so it'll look like in the pretty picture on the website, the Customer Service told me and the delivery guy that we should look into the little letter where the measurements are, and behind the nice lamp that covers the defects and make something looks like it's not. The delivery guy was as amazed at me to hear them explaining the picture is worked up and looks like something it ain't, and couldn't believe he needed to leave me with a bedroom that looks nothing like it's supposed to be. They wouldn't take anything back (because it's assembled - by their guys!!), they wouldn't replace, and all in all - the worst service and furnitures I've ever ran into. BEWARE AND DON'T BUY THERE! DON'T BELIEVE THE PICTURES!

Sr. Call Asst would not connect me to a manager about

Furniture was not delivered on the initial day scheduled, and I received a call this morning, saying the driver called in sick and the delivered was cancelled today. I have missed two days of works waiting on deliveries but the call rep would not let me speak to a manager. After many minutes of talking and repeating my request to talk to a manager she hung up on me. I called the center back and the rep I spoke with immediately connected me to some one who could, and did help me. The first rep left such a bad taste with me, I will likely never buy anything from Furniture To Go again. And that's a shame because my granddaughter wanted a bedroom suite from there.

Furniture To Go in Tampa and Coaster Furniture do not honor warranties

I bought a COASTER futon frame from Furniture to Go (aka The Bedroom Show) in September of 2007. I liked the way the futon looked. It was in a catalog and I couldn't see the actual furniture but I was told upon purchase that it would be under warranty through the store for year and thereafter through the manufacturer. Nine months later it collapsed. I was told to take a picture and email it to them. I did. After getting the runaround for a month, I was told they wouldn't cover it because of where the break was in the futon frame. They said it was due to "excessive force". I am not overweight. 99.9% of the time I am the only one on the futon. So why exactly did it break? Did a hurricane somehow enter my apartment and cause this "excessive force" to the futon which would cause it to break? Was it some kind of entity? BECAUSE IT WASN'T ME! I explained this to them incessantly and it was like talking to a tape recorder programmed to say the same thing: excessive force, won't cover, excessive force, won't cover... The store blames Coaster and Coaster blames the store. I was told, however, by the store that they would cover my warranty for a year and thereafter it would be covered through Coaster. It is THEIR responsibility to cover it, not mine. And Coaster should enforce this since it's their product. So we have two companies pointing the finger at each other meanwhile I'm sleeping on the floor because I went to the wrong store to purchase my futon frame. This is just a cheap ploy used by Furniture to Go (also known as The Bedroom Show) to get out of covering their merchandise. This futon frame was either defective or just plain cheap! I have had futons most of my adult life and I have never seen such garbage! I want the futon replace at no cost. I also payed THEIR delivery guys $55 (plus tip) to assemble it. It took them over an hour and the first time a piece was actually put on backwards and they had to disassemble and reassemble it! When I bought a futon in Los Angeles, it took them ten minutes to assemble it and it lasted for ten years!

don't buy their futon, especially their wooden ones....they are junk and they will break. I tried to deal with them after the glue came apart of the frame and they just would not hear about since I was only 2 months past the year anniversary of purchase date.

I would say NO to any other futon from them. The model number was 5137....bad bad choice if you go with them.

I managed a futon Store in tampa for years. Your break probably occurred on the long stretcher rail in front that connects the arms, and break happened at cheap finger joint in the wood, right?

Alot of manufacturers use these joints to save money at the cost of Quality. This is a common defect and I have seen it over a hundred times with no excessive force needed to cause it.

Find out who is at the top of customer service with Coaster and find out if they are BBB members in the locale of their headquarters. Document your issues in writing through E mail and Pics corresponding with Coaster.

Also if you purchased with a credit card you may wish to attempt a Charge Back to the Merchant, but only after getting correspondence in writing to back up your statements so that CC Company has documentation showing problems.

In Conclusion, a well built Futon is a viable and attractive piece of furniture. Find a vendor online that sells Solid Oak Frames from Night and Day, then have it drop shipped to your location and assemble it and it will last forever. Good Luck.

I work for a store that carries Coaster's products. They have a full range of products with different quality in their range.

It would be important for you to purchase a futon that can take the wear and tear of everyday use. Most futons go into spare bedrooms.

Coaster does warrant its products for a year. It warrants from defects not damage.
