$3500 couch sags big time from the start
I purchased a $3500 couch from Furniture and Beyond in Orange, CA and it was delivered at the end of January. From the start whenever we sat down on the couch, we'd sink about 10-20 inches depending on how long we'd sit down for, and it's been hurting our backs, our legs are higher than our torsos, and to get up is a task that is better handled with two people. (I'm an athlete and weigh 150 lbs - not an out of shape or really obese person). I have contacted the company numerous times, and they always told me the person in charge is out and will call me back. Never happened though, no call, no email. Nothing. Today I called them 4 times. First call a temp named Sally who even through the phone sounded anything but motivated to do her job said the person in charge isn't there, call back later. When I replied I had already done that several times without result, she sighed and said she could take a message, same thing. I asked to speak to a manager, she said there wasn't anybody there. When I got upset about the clear lack of customer service, she hung up on me. The second time we called they hung up immediately. The third time we used a different phone and a guy with an Asian accent answered. Again we were told there was nobody there to help us, they hung up. We called back a 4th time, then they simply told us they don't know who we are, what we want, they are just the warehouse where people pick up goods but when I asked about Furniture and Beyond, the guy denied that they knew who that was, claimed we had the wrong number and they couldn't help us. I checked Yelp, Google, anything I could think of and the result was the same: 714.385.9044 is the number for Furniture and Beyond in Orange, CA - and nobody is willing to help us with a sagging couch that is lacking support big time. This is not the quality we sat on at the store! I've owned lots of couches in my life - this one you can't sit on for longer than 15 minutes or your back will spasm, ache for days, you can't take a nap on it, it is simply the biggest joke of a couch I have ever seen. All we ask is for them to repair it and make it "sittable". But they simply deny being a furniture store. I have initiated a chargeback but am not convinced that will work. Never had such a lousy experience in my life with any manufacturer. They claim to have a website but that isn't even working. Neither is email.
