Accusation of stealing and harassment

3 times the jerk manager accused me of stealing and demanded to look in my bag.I only had beer in there and they don't sell it.

He did not apologize.I work at GM.

I called Freshco and told them what happened.Somehow they told him my name and the complaint. So I went in to get litter the other day.I had to use the facilities and banging on the door..I was again rudely informed I was banned.Which I had not done anything wrong.

Return refusal

A family member lost her baby at birth and so we (her family), tried to return diapers to two different Freshco locations for a store credit (no receipt and dont want about to ask her to look). Both refused to give a store credit without a receipt because its a large amount of money ($80).

This is disappointing that, in such an extreme situation, staff are not permitted to make exceptions.

The diaper boxes were in perfect, unopened condition and we were trying to help out a grieving family do something that would be trivial to her in the situation but nonetheless helpful to recover the funds. Incredibly disappointing and this makes me never want to shop at Freshco again.

Preferred solution: For staff to be ablle to make exceptions. I don’t blame the staff there. They are following the rules and aren’t in a position to make exceptions but I think they should be given authority to do so.

User's recommendation: Make exceptions for store credits

To inform FreshCo how their "policy" has lost a $100 weekly customer over a $3.00 purchase.

I purchased Paneer from Freshco in late August and as always, checked to ensure the expiry date was at least 2 months away. I was planning to use the Paneer in a recipe on a holiday meal that we were going on in Sept.

When I was packing the cooler for our trip, I noticed yellow mold inside the unopened package. I left the Paneer at home in the fridge so that I could return it following my week on vacation. When I went to Frescho today, I brought the Paneer back with my receipt and requested an exchange. The manager told me it was more than 14 days since the purchase, and therefore they would not refund or replace the moldy Paneer.

Ironically the intercom was just announcing how Freshco guarantees the products they sell. Fortunately I have lots of other grocery stores to choose from so I will have one less flyer to view.

A company " 14 day return policy" is so rigid and their manager uses "the policy" to hide behind so that he doesn't have to make his own call on guaranteeing a fresh product before the expiry date on the package is not a company that I will support. Freshco has lost me as a weekly customer because they would not replace a $3.97 item.

Pros:
  • Great selection of international foods and prices

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution

User's recommendation: Be aware that even if the expiry date of the product you are purchasing is beyond the 14 days then this company will not guarantee its freshness.
