Another Fresh Scents Sachet Complaint - DO NOT BUY
- - Fresh Scent Palm Tree sachet leaked and damaged the dresser finish.
- - The claim was denied, with oils cited as the cause.
I too, have purchased a Fresh Scent sachet that has ruined the finish on my brand new Tommy Bahama dresser. I placed the sachet on top of a decorative placemat that was placed on top of a dresser and something leaked out of it, went through the placemat and ate through the finish.
I called the company to ask what was in their product that would cause it to eat the finish. They simple asked me if I read the warning on the back of the packaging. They didn't really seem to care, which should have been a red flag but then they proceeded to tell me that they would send me a claim form. Sounded promising.
I filled it out, sent plenty of pictures, got an estimate to refinish the top of the dresser, sent the product back to them only to get a response "The product in question, Palm Tree, is a fragrance with a perfumer's oil. These oils can react with furniture, fabrics, or acrylics and can cause the type of damaged you described." They denied the claim. Simply put, where can you put these sachets that won't cause damage? Their website says to place them in your closet.
So, if the product causes damage to fabrics, why on earth would you place it in your closet? I never place reviews online but I couldn't let this one go by.
DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT and don't waste your time calling them to complain, they simply don't care and their customer service is poor to say the least. I'm sure my $444.75 repair bill is going to break them.

Fresh Scents Watermark Air Freshener Review
- - I purchased one Watermark scent sachet to try.
- - The smell is wonderful; will buy more if it lasts a good while from Kirkland.
I purchased on 12-27 one sachet of Watermark scent to try it. Placed it on some foil on my shelf in the office.
The smell is wonderful, keeping the door closed. Will buy more if the scent last a good while from Kirkland.
Scented Sachets are dangerous!
- - Packet stuck to dresser and damaged it.
- - Warning on back not obvious; company won't cover dresser or truck interior.
- - The product needs a hook.
Unpacked my purchases. Put the packet on my dresser along with other items in the bag.
Later came back to put purchases away. The packet was stuck to my dresser. I called the co. They said I should have read the warning on the back.
The warning is NOT noticeable. They are refusing to pay to have my dresser restored, which was an expensive piece of furniture and perfect before their awful product came along. This product needs to come with a hook since you can put it virtually NOWHERE safely.
My cousin put one in her truck and it ate the interior of the console-she had just inherited the truck from her dad. :-( .

Fresh Scents Damage
- - Sachet from Bed, Bath and Beyond said suitable for autos; it melted the dash.
- - A $300 damage claim was not reimbursed, despite warnings.
I purchased a sachet pack from Bed, Bath and Beyond. The back of the packet said "suitable for autos", SCORE, right?...not really.
I had the product in my car for a couple weeks and it smelled great, no problems. I then placed the sachet on my dash quick while packing my car for a weekend trip and left it there not really thinking about it. When I went to move the product a day or so later, my dash was completely MELTED where the product was. Did I mention this product is "eco friendly"?
HA! Long story short, I filled out a damage request form, got a quote for the damages, (which was $300) and thought the company would reimburse me since they're warning label contradicts where to place the product. But no, they are not reimbursing me and are sending me emails explaining their warning label and are contradicting themselves at the same time. They told me to place the sachet under the car seats but to avoid carpet.
Don't car floors have carpet?
Bottom line, don't buy this product. It will cause damages and if it does you are stuck with the bill because the company is irresponsible and is selling a faulty product.

Yeah.. I didn't read the package either.
Set it down for a day on my desk when I cleaned out my closet. I thought it was harmless since it was in a bag.
To my horror, it was stuck and glued on. As carefully as I could, I tried removing the residue, but it had already ate the finish clean off.
Same thing happened to my beautiful piece of furniture- I am so sad!!!! I cannot believe it is ruined for ever, all because of an insignificant little bag. If it such a problem, why not line the inside bottom of the back of the sachet with some plastic film to ensure this does not keep happening to customers?
