Freedom Auto Transport
DISHONESTY IS THEIR POLICY
I wanted to move a car from WA to GA to which Froland contacted me to say they HAVE trucks that move cars from WA to GA twice a week (I have correspondence to prove). Not only do they NOT have their own trucks, but they outsourced the job which is not an uncommon practice. However, when the truck arrived, I call Chuck concerned that it didn't have the Froland business name on logo on it, Chuck bluntly lied that it was their truck even when the driver confirmed it wasn't. Froland uses scared tactics such as the one quoted below from one of their emails to me: "85% are from brokers without trucks, just a phone and a computer." It seems brokering is prevalent thing in this industry, this I got from the driver of the non-Froland truck that picked up my car, however, Froland out rightly pointed out that they were not brokers and that they had their own trucks hence the reason I picked them. My most obvious question is why lie even in their initial and subsequent emails to me. Oh by the way, Chuck will purport that he is an honest senior citizen who used to be a Marine etcetera etcetera just to get your business.
Froland Auto Transport was so disjointed from the process they had no idea when the car was delivered. When my car was delivered, I promptly paid the driver since it was a COD delivery. I have retained counsel to fight Froland Auto Transport on their false claims of having their own trucks since that was the reason I selected them.
If you are reading this and have any questions, I urge you to reach out to me and I will provide you with details of my experience. I can say I will never use them again and I have learned from this experience that you can deal directly with transporters (Froland Auto Transport is a broker "with a phone and computer"). Dealing directly with transporters costs less and they are the ones with the insurance coverage NOT Froland as they claim.
Chuck Dunaway was a dishonest representative of Froland Auto Transport, however, it is unclear whether or not Froland Auto Transport is an honest company.
Caveat Emptor (Buyer Beware)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ms. M Schriner
This is a company that can NOT be trusted. They NEVER showed to pick up our car!
We thought we had found a good transport company to take our car from MI to AZ. We booked one month in advance. Nice guys answered my questions and gave me a good quote. After the initial booking, I had several occasions to talk to Chuck, who was very convincing on the phone from the point of getting our quote to week prior to our requested pick up date.
Then it all fell apart! Froland Auto Transport was not able to deliver and I consider Chuck to be very deceitful because he didn't even bother to try tell us that there would be no transport carrier at our door as per contract. Three days before our flight was to leave we repeatedly called to ask why our carrier/driver had not contacted us to give us a specific time and date for pick up. Chuck said he would return our call(s) and never did.
we were pissed when no one returned our calls or answered when we called, so on Sunday evening we were forced to call the airline to cancel our next day flights. We had no choice at that point but to make arrangements to drive the 2200 miles. I read good reviews about this company but one mistake like this will sour us for ever booking on line a transport company. The year prior we used a MI company (more expensive and OK since we were shipping a sports car).
That company is called Reliable and they were right on with their delivery as promised.
FROLAND AUTO TRANSPORT/HARASSMENT
STARTED OUT BY GETTING A QUOTE FROM THIS GUY HE SAID THEY WERE A CARRIER/HIS RESPONSE TO ME JUST CHANGING MY MIND AND CALLING TO SAY TAKE ME OFF THE LIST AND MAKE CERTAIN MY CREDIT CARD WAS NOT CHARGED: I REPEATEDLY TOLD HIM, HIS E-MAILS WERE TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL, INAPPROPRIATE -- THEN, IT GOT VERY UGLY! HE REALLY WAS ABUSIVE, NASTY, AND WOULD NOT TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER! SO FAR - THESE ARE THE EMAILS I RECVD : SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE! THIS IS HORRIBLE, AND A THREATENING, STALKING TYPE OF RESPONSE BECAUSE I DID NOT CHOOSE THEM!
CHUCK DENAWAY I BELIEVE IS HIS NAME.
FROLAND TRANSPORT HARASSMENT!!
THE FIRST E-MAIL WHEN TRYING TO SNAG ME AS A CUSTOMER...
My name is Chuck and I want to thank you for your time. I am a Former Marine, Engineer and now a Senior that still believes honesty should be the number one priority with our customers. I always go out of my way to help our military and the ones that serve us "proud".. I do hope to be of service when you decide on your move date and selection of Transport Company.
Our unique "door to door" service also is reflected in the number of custom trucks both open and enclosed that we offer. We have 20 trucks that operate out of our Miami, Florida office, 24 trucks operating out of Los Angles, California and 7 trucks in Texas to best serve you!!
I have 2 trucks that make the NH to FL run each week that we can secure a "48 HOUR " pick up from a set date of your vehicle. Each vehicle will be covered with up to $80,000.00 insurance as soon as it is loaded on our truck. The duration of transport is 3-5 days. In your selection of companies keep one thing in mind, if they can't offer you "48 HOUR" pick up service they have "NO" trucks. Once again, my sincere thanks for your consideration…

I want to thank you for getting back to me, I have you set for a Oct16th-17th, Tue-Wed pick up. The driver will give you a heads up call 12-24 hours prior to pick up to set a time for loading of your vehicle, the same is true for the delivery. Please check the information on the DOT (Department of Transportation) driver release form, date, sign and return ASAP by email or fax. This is the drivers release to transport your vehicle across state lines and thru the weigh station. The duration of transport is 3-5 days. Like I explained, we do not run your card until we dispatch out a driver for pick up, there are no hidden charges. You will need to pay the driver the balance COD when the vehicle is off loaded. IU am sorry or the rapid conversation, it was a pleasure talking with you. If you need anything please call me, let me know when your movers are coming? Ha-ha-ha.
Regards
Chuck Dunaway

Your making a mistake. I told you we have our own trucks , also two sister companies that we book for plus owner operators that are under contract to us for over 10 years. We are a carrier company, everybody has to have a brokers license issued by the dept of transportation and be bonded. The board your taking about is our dispatch board we use for our drivers. We also post on Central Dispatch to let other companies know we have a contract on the vehicle. Now your going to go with a broker (80%) without trucks and end up with a major problem. Sorry for the misunderstanding, what you need to be looking at is our record of moving vehicles rated by our customers. Had you not lost our quote I sent to you all the information was there for you to read. I will send you my initial quote. Y the way, like I told you we NEVER run a credit card until a driver is dispatched for pick up the day we load the vehicle. The links that we always provide are listed on the bottom o the quote for you to open and review.

Hi Again
Kathrine, I can see the main problem is communication. I sent you a copy of my initial quote that you couldn't find. When you called in I discounted you for $745.00 which is $200.00 lower than my initial quote because the rates usuall go up the 1st of Oct because of the snow birds going south. I was also filling a spot on one of our trucks coming out the 16th-17. The DOT form I sent you was for that amount. So I fail to see why you think there is a hidden cost or extra money that I was asking for.
You keep saying, you brokers, as I explained to you we are a carrier company. Everybody has to have a brokers license and bonded, before you are given a MC number by the Department of Transportation. Ours is over 20 years old for your information, the difference between us and 80 % of the people you talked with have "no" trucks. They are strictly brokers with a phone and a computer, we are not.
I am sorry your having a problem with the facts, you want to go with a broker that has no trucks be my guest and good luck getting picked up on the dates we have scheduled for you. When no trucks show up and your all moved out and your vehicle is stuck in NH don't call your broker without trucks and try to get your deposit back. We never run a card until our driver is dispatched to pick your vehicle up the same day.
I have no idea why your so adamant that I have some how misinformed you. I sent you a copy of my initial quote so you would have the links to click on to gather more information on our 20 year old company. We own our trucks, we have two sister companies that we book for and owner operators that are under contract to us. I explained that to you several times when I spoke with you, it was not the best connection as I remember but I do not lie to people, I do not have to as our network is one of the top in the industry. You will have a hard time finding anything negative about us, we take pride in our service and a 48 hour pick up from a set date is the very best in the whole industry. This is something you need to keep in consideration if you still choose to go to a BROKER without trucks that services the NE this time of the year when trucks are in high demand. I have not ask for one penny from you up front, the reservation fee which is due the day our driver comes to make the pick up is to ensure your vehicle is there so I am not stuck with having to pay or the mileage and time wasted by the drive. I suggest you re consider your decision to make other arrangements.
Regards
Chuck

Hi Again
I have tried to work with you. I have tried to answer your questions and nothing seems to satisfy you. For your information we never have ask people for their reviews until the last few months. There are no bad reviews either! There is nothing more that I have to say period. Just take your business to a broker without trucks and get what you deserve, NO PICK up and you will wish you hadn't treated people like you have. I gave you a secured 48 hour pick up from a set date, that's the best in the industry! Have a great day! Now take your *** *** car as you call it and do as you please. I wouldn't move it for all the aggravation it will cause anybody. Some people have a way of really *** people off, your one of them, just wait until your moving company doesn't show up. You had a great deal and managed to screw that up, good luck crazy lady!!
REGARDS
Chuck

Ms Schriner was informed that all the trucks in that area were way behind due to bad weather and that she should make arrangements to leave the keys with someone and make her flight as scheduled. It was scheduled for pickup on 10/11 a Thurs/Fri, the driver called on Monday to pickup.
Instead, when the driver did call to schedule the pickup he was informed that they had chosen to drive down. He was never notified that the order had been cancelled.
There are always alternatives, never take drastic measures, when transporting your vehicle , relax and have a little patience. It is impossible to have an exact pickup time and date, there are too many variables when driving a truck.
