Be careful of Free File Software.

Selected freefile.free1040taxreturn.com from IRS website. Filled in all questions that were asked by software. Federal taxes were calculated and a Form 888* (401k Deduction) was filled out based upon my W-2 information. Instructions for Form 8880 clearly state if a taxpayer has taken a withdrawal from a 401k or retirement plan since 2010 you make not use this deduction. I contacted the help desk for freefile.free1040taxreturn.com to explain this problem and ask how the Form 8880 could be removed from my tax return, this is their answer: "Your return is accurately calculated based on your input and current tax law. Please review your entries carefully." At that point I deleted my return. First year I am trying e-file and I will go back to pencil and paper forms. At least I know the IRS rules are being followed.

MyFreePos and Bad Service, dishonest, rude, bad business sense

Purchased MyFreePos software had trouble getting it setup used their "free e-mail support for life" after the first 20 questions they revoked my software membership caused I over used the e-mail support, even though they offer "Free e-mail support for life". Reading through the manual and trying to set this up with minimal computer knowledge took me a bit longer to setup but they have very little patience. They try to get more money out of people saying that they must buy their equipment in order for the software to run. WRONG!!! You have to be willing to put time and find solutions. They want you to purchase their mag strip cards but they're expensive compared to the ones you can find on the net. FYI they mis lead you on purpose so they can make a quick buck... They say they require track #2 codes for the mag strip cards but they actually need to be coded with Track #1 and #2 in order for them to work, but they wont tell you that. They say that a mag reader should be purchased from them at $130 but you can get them online for $10 and it'll work just fine make sure that you get a programmable one. Will take an hour ( phone support and a computer program). Can't go full screen with the software! Printing with a POS printer you have to run through they're REC program first before it'll work You have to alter the cash drawer function in the Printer settings in order for the register to work The list goes on and on... The manual is lengthy but they don't tell you how to do everything (especially the important functions like printing by adjusting some settings on the computer or codes needed for the register to open with a certain brand ) and expect you to give up and use they're expensive tech-online support that'll take them a few minutes to do. Do they have a good product: kind of.... def could be better Support staff helpfulness: If you ask too many questions, NO... They're always trying to get you to buy their stuff, when they know that what you have will work. Do they honor they're contacts: NO, they'll revoke your registration and or terminate your registration with no refund. How long does it take to setup their software properly: With all the proper information.... 1 week at 3-5 hours a day, with out the proper info.... who knows Avg reply wait: 1 day Limit on e-mails before they terminate your registration.... 20 Likely hood of recommending this software to other businesses: Not a chance Contacted some of they're so called business that use their software, they've switched not too long after using their software cause of their failure to do the most basic functions without having to call tech-support to fix it.

I have to disagree completely. I am not a software person but you pay for what you get!

All in all for free or 150 per station past that it is a good starter software. If you want a better system then pay 30 to 60k to aloha.

I called and asked question wanting to buy their software. I found the telephone person to be rude and unhelpful.

No matter what I asked I was told Not if its not registered or you need to email support. I decided if they were this rude before I bought from them I could only imagine what the service would be like after they had my money. I have never spent money with this company and doubt I ever will. Oh yeah the software is several years old.

I recommend other free or cheap POS software. They are much better one for $0 -$500
