Went to GA400 Fred's Beds. Was about to buy a mattress and box springs for over $1200.

Wanted a break on the $65 delivery charge to my home five-minutes away. Got a smart-assed reply from the woman in response. Won't shop there again and won't recommend.

Bought a mattress from a competitor for same price and he took $15 off the delivery. American Mattress got my business.

Absolutely terrible service! I've only posted one yelp review before, and it was a positive review. I felt I needed to post this one. BUYER BEWARE!!!

Oscar (store manager) is super nice, friendly, and seemingly easy to work with UNTIL after the sale. I ordered and paid for furniture August 15th. The headboard took months to arrive...okay, out of his control. The nightstand and chest of drawers both arrived damaged....again out of his control. However, it is now December 19th, and the chest of drawers still hasn't been replaced.

I spoke with Oscar last week who told me the company would be replacing my chest of drawers. Oscar had told me that the manufacturer had said that replacing the broken drawer glide wouldn't work and that the whole chest needed to be replaced. We scheduled the delivery for today and when the delivery guy showed up, there was no chest. Rather, he showed up with an electric drill/screw driver and a drawer glide. WHAT!!

After the delivery guy tried to replace the glide, he told me that the drawer is now cracked. He then suggested that he could bring me another drawer...again, not what the manager or manufacturer had said. I took time out of my day for that?

I paid for this furniture 4 months ago. BUYER BEWARE!!!

We have purchased 2 high-end mattresses and a day bed and mattress over the past 10 years from Fred's Beds. Every time they have shown us excellent customer service, both before and after the sale.

I highly recommend them. We did our homework, shopped all over the triangle for our second mattress, and ended back up at Fred's Beds. They are clearly No. 1 in the Triangle with quality, price, and service.

I being a naive consumer bought a mattress without asking about a return/exchange policy. I spend $800 on a mattress and got a mattress and a backache.

Now, because they do not accept returns or exchanges, I am stuck with a mattress that gives me a backache. Freds Beds never explained their policy and they knew the situation I was in (which was I had no bed and was going to buy that day).

Other mattress stores will charge you 10% of the cost of the bed and exchange the mattress, that is what you should look for when determining where you buy your new mattress!!!
