Terrible Boarding Place for your Pets in the Indy Area

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

We boarded our dog here and were completely disappointed with the care she received. Our dog was dropped off with her own prescribed medication that she was to be given during the duration of her stay.

We found out after we left the facility and came back home that they had not given her the medication we brought with her to the facility.

They began calling both my husband and I to come back and pick up her medication as we left it behind which didn't make any sense as the medication we dropped her off with was in her personal bag and belongings. When we called back to confirm we did have our dog's medication Jennifer was insistent that we were incorrect that we didn't have the right medication with us and asked us to provide a picture of what we were sent home with. We complied and sent a picture of our dog's medication with the pharmacy label on it with her name and dosage instructions and were told "Uh, we will call you back".

Fault was admitted by Frankfort Animal Hospital that they gave our dog a different medication that was not hers during her stay. However, we were told two different names for the medicine used and felt like they were trying to cover up their mistake.

When speaking to Noah he said they could not find our dog's medication in their fridge - IT WAS LOST for a few days he admitted. This is a big red flag if you are bringing medication with your pet as they appear to be unable to look at multiple shelves within their fridge to administer what you bring for you pet to receive. At no point did we authorize a change in medicine and we as pet owners should be able to trust a boarding facility to follow our pet's instructions for medication. Noah also said "we should be thankful that we received free medication since they administered our dog a different medication and not her own."

We would definitely NOT recommend boarding your pet here.

We would not wish anyone to experience what we did upon returning from being out of town. Our dog is currently being treated at a different vet because of the mistreatment in care received at Frankfort Animal Hospital.

Cons:
  • Did not administer medication sent with pet
  • Did not call when medication was lost
  • Used unauthorized brand of medicine

Preferred solution: Warning to others who have to board their pets with medical needs that this is not the place. They are unorganized & cannot keep track of a full fridge of medication or assure that medication you bring will be used or found when needed for your pet.
