Overcharged, never answered the phone,rude and combative

I had a reservation for a full size car. When I arrived they only had a PT cruiser. I was tired and had a long flight. They offered a Ford Taurus, calling it a luxury and adding 10.00 a day. I was renting for 4 weeks, and that was a lot. I tried to fight it, but no one was there to help me. No manager, just a clerk. I thought I would take it and then call and explain later. I called 3 times and was put on hold for over an hour. finally got someone and they said someone would call back. Never did. Called again and same story, In the entire time no one ever got to me. the clerk that i spoke to said to just come in and explain when I return the car. They also said this car was great on gas. It was terrible and I have to do a lot of driving. When I turned the car in I asked to speak to a manager in private as the place was full. he wanted to speak at the counter. he refused to give me his last name and said he was the only Michael there. I tried to explain the situation but he would not listen and was in a hurry and said to me cut to the chase what do you want.I have never met a so called manager so rude and combative. It became really hostile and I called the police as I became afraid of what i might do to the guy. No resolution. If you want a cheap rate go for it, but don't expect anyone to to help if you have a problem. Will never go back. Just horrible horrible experience. I rent a lot and never had it so bad. this was in Orlando a brand new office just opened 3 months ago.

"Lost our camera

We rented a car from Las Vegas Fox rental. First, auto was dirty. We took it to be washed. When my daughter realized she left her camera in vehicle when it was returned, she called them immediately when home. Oh, My God! They did not find the camera. Car had already been "washed",jvuu It has been re-rented! I believe they either had "help who found it" or refused to contact new customer and try to get it back. They are charlatin liars and I would rather ride a donkey than rent from these *** The Nevada State attorney could not help us. Who can?

OMG, It was almost exactly what happened to me, I left my iphone in the car and I called them as soon as I got to the airport and they said they would check the car and call me right back, it took me 3 more days to talk to anyone from the Vegas office and then the car was rented, when it cam back they found a iphone in it but te case was different and the screen was locked so i couldn't prove it was mine. i think in i funny that 2 people lost iphones in he same car, and why didn't the boy that checked the car find my phone and bring it to me when i was checking out? I thnk I know the answer to that question!

They charged double what I have quoted for. And I checked on my credit card statement today and they have charged another $150. Beware of these people. The manager at the return car lot at The Los Angeles office on Century Blvd is the worst; he will charge you $75 for having small piece of chips on the seat.

Fox rental car sucks

Hidden fees, long lines, long wait for car is nothing compared to the abusive customer service by several members of staff. Kevin in SFO ur an **** hole. You just don't treat people so awful . Definitely shouldn't be in customer service. We arrived to rent the car at 9:30 am and finally drove away at 12:30! Time cannot be replaced. Also to many of the emPloyees were quick to snap at customers and gave horrible service overall. I will definitely not be choosing fox for my rental again, especially since I only saved 9 dollars. Heck, better customer service is worth AT LEAST that much!

Take money for deposit on debit card. Hold money for up to 14 days.

Very poor business practice. They take money out instantly. Should go back within a day. This is terrible.

Will stick with name brand car rentals from now on. :(

FOX CAR RENTAL

PREVIOUSLY I POSTED A COMPLAINT ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE AGENT BETSY AT THE OAKLAND,CA. RENTAL SITE. I DID RENT A CAR AT THIS SITE ON 6/25/12. I ENCOUNTERED NO PROBLEMS WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE OR THE RENTAL CAR. I RETURNED THE CAR ON 6/30/12. THE CAR WAS A NISSAN SENTRA. GREAT CAR, COMFORTABLE,ROOMY,WELL APPOINTED AND GREAT ON GAS. IT WAS A PLEASURABLE EXPERIENCE. I NEVER RECEIVED A CALL OR E-MAIL CONCERNING MY INITIAL COMPLAINT. I STILL BELIEVE BETSY SHOULD BE RETRAINED OR TRANSFERED TO A JOB THAT DOESN'T REQUIRE HER TO DEAL WITH THE PUBLIC.

Should be reported to the news

Me and my wife rented a car to go see my mother having surgery, telling fox where we going to. From California to Michigan they said ok. meanwhile halfway to Michigan, halfway across America in Wyoming a state trooper told us to get out and he towed our car for no reason. My wife had to cry to the crooked cop begging for the car.. Under one condition we got it back tho they charged us $50. We had to turn back home another 1500 miles. Waste of money and time all our savings worth to drive see my sick mother I did not see over 2 years did not happen. Ugh

I rented an auto from may 5th to may 9th 2012 at sky harbor airport in phoenix az. I paid my bill and they checked out the car and all is well. I filled the gas tank very close to the airport.I was billed upon leaving but I just got my credit card bill today and a seperate charge of 100 dollars was added the next day on the 10th for no possible reason from FOX AUTO RENTALS

FOX Rent A Car will take your deposit!

I wish I would have read these complaints before I tried to "get a good deal" from this company. There are a huge amt of hidden fees, they mischarged me insurance, and scammed me on gas. They told me my $100 deposit would be back on my visa "in about a week." When I called to inquire about where my money was, it took 2 days just to get ahold of ANYONE (thru webchat, calling a million times, and emailing!!!!) I was told my bill came to a higher amt and that they put my deposit towards it!!! I didn't consent to this nor was there a valid charge to take this money! This is such a scammy company, NO customer service, crooked, and decietful!!! Please don't think you're going to get a good deal----I PROMISE YOU WON'T! :(

Rude customer service

At Fox car rental in Oakland, Ca. customer service employee Betsy was rude and difficult to discuss a car rental with her. Upon asking a ligitimate question ( what are the cost of the fees like customer facility charge, dropp off fee and concession fees) she refused to answer those questions and then hung up on me. I tried to live chat with her on line but she again disconnected me. I won't be renting a car from them. The owner of that facility should only know the buisness he is losing because of her!! Of course there is no way to contact the owner or the corporate headquarters about this issue.

Fox Rental unfair business

very unfair business... I rented Full size SUV for just 1 weekday to pickup family from Airport last week and thought saving cost... but found later wasted lot of money... They marked receipt, full-fuel tank but guage needly slighly lower than mark.. As this is first time I rent this model SUV, I thought it is okay... but realized while re-filling fuel for return, I was tricked.... When got the vehicle out ""361 miles to End"" whereas when I return back to them, it was ""393 miles to End"" and this difference is $10 fuel for full-size SUV which I rented.... :-( When I was keep thinking about this and missed some exits on freeway and went to return 1 hour late than actual time to return... They charged me for next day rental and also next day Insurance which I bought along with airport taxes etc for next day.... :-( Apart from above tricks, the representative didn't even felt important to tell me all above extra charges and he cool came to me and gave receipt and asked to sign and told all set..... Only after I asked him why extra charges he tells 1 hours is too much and only 30 minutes grace period etc... All together burnt lot of money without use from my pockets and spoiled my full day mood... I will not rent agin fox rental, San jose airport

Will never rent from Fox again!We returned from California Apr 15 and on the 20th received two bills from Fox's buddy VMS (collection agency).One was a $4.75 toll road violation and a $40.00 service fee.The second was a $5.00 toll violation and a $40.00 service fee.The service fees were already billed to my credit card but they didn't bother paying the toll violations.I take it the $80. service fee was to give the information to the next rip-off artist The Toll Roads.That was the third bill that arrived today, Apr 23, with no province or country in the addressing VMS couldn't manage to give them the full address for eighty bucks).They would like a total of $9.75 + $115.00 penalty for a total of $124.75 by Apr 24.However after that the price is $209.75 (90% increase).Now get this.At this point VMS cannot legally give The Toll Roads my credit card # to cover this bill but if it isn't paid by May 15 a lien will be put on the car we rented and VMS has the right to pay that bill on our credit card!Sweet scam they have going.Now I don't have a problem paying the tolls.God knows we looked around for the tray to throw the money into but alas its only by transponder.Who knew?Its called screw the dumb tourist!!Don't fall for Fox's cheap car rental ads.It will cost you a fortune.Wait till Sixt Car Rentals gets to California and Fox will be out of business.We used them in Europe last year and my husband had a photo radar speeding ticket for 7 km over.Sixt gave the gov't agency our address (for FREE).They sent us a bill and we paid it.End of headache.The difference is Sixt is a reputable company.Don't get mad.Get even.Tell all your friends not to rent from FOX.

FOX CAR RENTAL OVERCHARGES

WE RESERVED A CERTAIN CAR FROM FOX FOR $155. WK ALL TOTAL WAS $214. when we got to the car rental counter they HAD to charge us for an upgrade at the tidy sum of $10. more per day plus increased taxes and fees, the dodge journey all of a sudden became more, i have tried to contact fox to no avail, at this minute when i check the price of the dodge it is at $ 155. per wk, my next step is contest the credit card charges, they respond no other way, DIRTY COMPANY BEWARE !!!! this company is under investigation by attorney generals and from what ive read there's a class action suit against them, this is not a company that i want to ever do bussiness with ever again . they have dirty cars and the one we had had electrical problems, what a way to handle bussiness.

I had.bad experience wIith Fox over chaerging us. had to do the ever popular up grade.

I stayed on Fox and did Facebook just to get in contact with someone. and finally Fox reimbursed out over charge. I will say this took a lot of persistence and a lot of time. but they did in fact give out money back !!!

Fox needs an over seeer and consultant . some one to train their people right.

then set their web site and confirmation page to ne factual. things may run little smoother for them

I have supporting documents, along with names, dates and times of people I spoke to before and on the day of our arrival. Upon they heavily suggested on the the $10.00/day upgrade(since they had given our car away) and then insisted on a $100.00 deposit(that even corporate said has never been their policy) that they kept for 2 weeks. I have been in touch with David Westengard cell # 760-464-**** and corporate-Mario Alexander. It actually looked promising and then they crashed and burned. A whole $25.00 refund for the HORRIBLE service and drivers!!

Falsely detained for stolen car

I was traveling on business and rented from Fox rental car. apparently the car had been stolen and it was recovered by Fox rental car. I was stopped by customs and told to step out of car and raise my hands. I was handcuffed and detained and interrograte because the car I was in was reported stolen. After over an hour in a small room in handcuffs, i was released only to be told that if I was stopped again because of a missing front licences plate that I would be arrested. This was clearly a fault on the rental car company. Never again will i rent from these people

FOX - does not honor committments

I reserved a min-van in order to transport 8 people in a wedding party on a specific time and date. When I arrived to get the mini-van, they said that they were out and couldn't commit to have one on time. I was told that they would call when one came in and was cleaned (they never called). I was given a Ford Explorer which carried the 8 people, but was much harder for our elderly guests to enter and exit and caused considerable discomfort. It also was a real gas-hog and it cost me a lot more to operate compared to mini-vans that I have had before. Last fox rental for me.

Car rental customer service

I called Fox car rental at the oakland airport facility and spoke with Betsy. I told her we would be vactioning in Cal. for a week and wanted to know how much the customer facility charge was at that facility. She would not answer this question and said it depends on the pick up facility. I told her that it would be oakland airport. Then she said it varies. I asked why. she said again it depends on the facility. I said the facility would be oakland. She disconnected me. I tried to do a live chat with her on line and she disconnected again. How in the heck can you promote buisness that way?

FOX CAR RENTAL IS BAD NEWS!

I booked a car rental last week and was quoted $40.00 + 20.00 for taxes and fees. When I returned the car, I was billed $128.00. When I called customer service to inquire about additional charges, the representative laughed out loud at my complaint and said I should have read the extra charges that had been applied before I signed. The clerk was deceptive when he told me to sign on the line. He checked additional charges when I thought I was signing for what I had originally booked on line. These people are nasty and wicked. I would rather pay known higher prices than be deceived by false advertisement for lower rates. The laughter was worse than the additional $60 bucks. I Will NEVER rent from them again!!! This was the worst car rental experience I ever had.

Fox customer service is lacking. Waiting is very long and the agents are unknowledgable on basic questions.

The chat line does not respond either.

When I asked for a supervisor, I was told they were all at lunch. Further, they send out cars that are not well maintained.

Fox Car Rental Rips You Off

I have never written a review before no matter how bad something has been, but this is by far the biggest rip off I have ever seen. We booked through Expedia a flight/car rental combo, so I had never heard of fox but went with it. First off when we arrived at Orlando airport we had to be shuttled several miles away to even get to the rental place, its not at the airport. When we got there they start trying to "upgrade" you right away. We did choose to upgrade for a charge of $120 for our 12 day stay. We also agreed to a minimal insurance as the guy told us stories of cars getting stolen etc...Only after I started to research this company after we left I read tons of horror stories did we look at our credit card bill to see we had been billed an ADDITIONAL $798 after we already paid $380 for the rental through Expedia. We looked over our bill and they charged us for things we said we DID NOT want.... NEVER EVER CONSIDER FOX CAR RENTAL..unless you enjoy being stolen from.
