My name is Stephen Lyons, a resident and business owner in Union Beach, NJ. Im writing to formally bring to your attention troubling concerns that I believe warrant immediate journalistic investigation regarding potential corruption within our local government.
On Friday, I was subjected to harassment after beginning to question and investigate budgetary inconsistencies, public spending approvals, and what appears to be a pattern of conflicts of interest between elected officials, public contractors, and private business owners closely tied to Borough operations.
What began as a citizen inquiry into municipal financials has now escalated into what I believe may be retaliation for uncovering inconvenient truths.

Undisclosed ties between elected officials and local business owners involved in Borough decisions
Budget discrepancies not visible through traditional payables, potentially hidden through auto-debits, reimbursements, and internal journal entries
Concerns about public land easements and votes possibly involving conflicted parties

Concerned citizens
Downstairs tenants are literally purposely torturing starving this poor dog who is only 2 years old to death. There were 2 dogs one has passed away.
I have multiple photographs and enough video.. killing an animal is a CRIME. TAKING any life is a crime. Ive been to the precinct which only down the block so many times that i was detained.
Simply put most of the officers dont do there jobs when it comes to this type of situation.
This is a middle class neighborhood. I need help.
