Four Seasons Chimney Services

We hired Four Seasons to rebuild a leaking chimney at our small office. Patrick talked a good game during the estimate but then sent two inexperienced subcontractors to start the job.

When I pulled up the first day, they were working on the roof with only a ladder (major OSHA violation) and large chunks of brick were rolling down the shingles into the planting bed. The work site was a mess. In hindsight I should have stopped them immediately but Patrick was not there. In fact, he disappeared for several days (reportedly a health issue) while his subs tried to keep the job going.

After minimal progress and shoddy workmanship, we replaced them with a different company only to learn they had used the wrong mortar (which was like concrete), plugged our gutters/downspouts and ordered brick that did not match (among other issues)! In the end, the job cost us much more than it should have because everything Four Seasons did had to be undone. Patrick promised to take full responsibility but not surprisingly, I have not heard back from him.

I too will be reporting him to the BBB and the Attorney General. He should be put out of business.

Patrick came to my house, pretended to install 4 chimney caps, then charged us $1500 which we paid only to find out that he installed nothing, after that he disappeared, his listed business address is a UPS store ( which should tell you something about the business), he could not be reached by phone . I filed a complaint at the Attorney General office, but before they go after him they need more complaints, please file a complaint again against him and follow it with a phone call to protect other consumers from this man. I will be suing him in the small claims court.

I wish I had found all these reviews before I hired Patrick. He was to fix the venting of my furnace and water heater and when I went to sell my house they didn't pass inspection. I contacted him and he said he'd correct it and I said I wanted a refund. He said within 72 hours...nothing. Then he'd be by on Friday...didn't see him.

He's a complete charlatan. He acts like he is professional but he just piles the lies upon lies. For example when I called his cell phone he told me his name was John and Patrick wasn't with the company any more yet when I complained about him on Yelp it was he that responded.

This guy should not be in business.

Patrick Fortney (business owner) seemed genuine and very polite while performing chimney sweeping on 06/30/2014. He indicated one of my fireplaces did not have a chimney cap and offered to install one the same day or early the following morning for an additional $235.00.

After investigating prices for chimney caps, this was on the very high end although i had already paid in full to have Patrick install. I was ok to go ahead with the job anyhow. He never called me to schedule the installation that evening or the next day and never showed up as promised. When I eventually called him on the day he promised to perform the job (7/1/2014), he sounded irritated to have to do the job and said he also thought the chimney cap should actually be $340 instead of $235 which is absolutely incredibly overpriced.

When I asked him to justify the price increase he said it was due to the size of chimney opening which was known the previous day. He said he would be at my house before 3:30 pm and would try to work with me on the price. No call, no show, no response to any texts. He actually cashed my check in the amount of $373.00 on 6/30/2014 prior to the follow-up appointment date (07/01/2014) and it unfortunately cleared for a job he never did despite my attempts to stop payment and afterward he had the audacity to ask for additional money since he assumed I did not realize my check had already been cashed in an attempt to further rob me.

He still has not attempted to pay me back the money and will not respond to calls or texts. I have already paid him (as seen in the itemized invoice) $138.00 for the chimney cleaning (which he fulfilled) and $235.00 for the chimney cap which he has made no attempt to install.

I had to file a complaint with the attorney general's office as he is not affiliated with Better Business Bureau - shocker! I am sure I am not the first he has stolen money from but I would like to do my best to try to make it his last.
