Pushy Salesman David Worthington

Foremost currency Group Ive just been emailing these roaches. Basically, what happened is the 'David Worthington' took advantage of the prospective client and asked if she would like them to secure an amount. She said yes please not realising that they would hold her to having said amount of money for transfer. (Lets not forget she hasn't transferred any amount or been advised that this was a binding contract) She then found them to be a lot more expensive than Transferwise, who she decided to use. This is from the email I received this afternoon from David Worthington and Richard Beaumont: "We have purchased the Euros at *****'s execution at 1.3510, costing £17,959.67. As this trade was unsettled we were forced to sell the Euros back to the open market today at a rate of 1.384451 returning £17,515.97, resulting in a market loss of £433.70." So they are claiming that she owes them the £433.70 Just bear this in mind before asking Foremost Currency Group for a quote to transfer money abroad.

David Worthington is a thoroughly professional and trustworthy person who I used for large transfers of my own. The above is someone just whinging after the event.

The key is "Do you want me to secure this?" If she has an account with them and answered "yes" that is a clear contract to buy.

That would apply to any broker. Using abusive terms does not impress anyone.

I have known David Worthington as a good friend for the last ten years. I know him to be an honest, hardworking and thoroughly decent individual who is not a ‘roach’ and, in my opinion, does not deserve to be maligned by someone who hides their identity whilst naming others on the Internet.

I would ask that anyone reading this ‘review’ considers carefully the motives of the person that wrote it and ask themselves how they would feel if it was their name that had been published in this way.

Foremost Currency Group - Funds Transfer Review from Alcobendas, Madrid

Our funds were received by transfer time but not sent on 31/12/2014. Our Spanish bank was open. No Pop arrived which we pay £20 for. We had no funds so cancelled our new yr booking we have to pay 50 euro cancellation fee. Phoned at 4PM offices closed. Plus the rate was showing 1.29 we were offered 1.2560 then 1.26. We note when James Spurway is not available things go wrong. We have been with Foremost for 7 years and this is the 2nd time this has happened both times when James was away. We are not only angry & disappointed as pensioners we are out of pocket & have struggled since Wednesday all down to Foremost. Janet & Graham Hedditch JAS3838

During anti money laundering compliance procedures it became clear that clients you referred to us, could not confirm if it was their funds they were moving, or the reason they wanted funds transferred. Due to the lengthy and time consuming process it involved to investigate the history of the unusual trades clients were placing, this resulted in a cost to as far exceeding any commissions that were due. For this reason no commission payment will be made, and no further communication will be entered into. We are a UK based commercial foreign exchange company, and much of our business comes from introducers who pass details of clients that may require foreign exchange. The individual who posted the review referred several clients to us. Usually we would pay 25% commission of any profit made to the introducer for any trade we complete. The commission due was £116.30. As you can see from the email thread posted as the review, we decided not to pay the £116.30 commission due to a significant failure of the Anti-Money Laundering process resulting in us ceasing all relationships with both the individual and all clients that were referred.

As you can appreciate, a business such as ours is a target for money launderers, and as such we are legally bound to show we know why clients are using our services and to be able to identify where funds have come from. Both the referrer and the clients referred could not clarify why they had used our service, or the source of the funds, which is highly unusual and raised serious concerns with our compliance team. The transactions therefore did not meet our Anti Money Laundering criteria. All trades were cancelled and funds returned to clients, and the relationship was ended immediately. As such, no commissions were due, as we make these on a discretionary basis as is our right.

We therefore feel the negative review is not warranted, and is simply a vengeful attempt to disrupt our business. Please therefore remove the review with immediate effect. Please confirmed within 7 days that the review has been removed. If it will not be removed, provide detailed reasons why this is the case so we can pursue the matter at the next level.

Please note that FMG had happilly accepted the very same clients funds in the first place it was only when the client tried to release their funds that money laundering issue was raised. Now you isn't it just a little hypocritical to accept the clients funds in the first place and then when the client wishes to move their funds on decide that you wish to raise money laundering issues. Surely you failed to put the correct procedures in place in the first instance therefore failing in your duties to follow correct procedures. You cannot accept clients funds with no questions asked then raise ficticious money laundering concerns when the client wishes to actually recover their funds from FCG. Now FCG did after a delay pay back to the client their funds so either FCG broke the money laundering rules twice or this is just an excuse for not paying brokers their fees.

And isn't the real issue being obscured here? Where in your broker agreement do you mention that the broker is responsable for FCG' compliance fees? Nowhere is the the answer. You have effectively just confiscated monies due perfectly legitimately to the broker and to make matters worse FCG are trying to play a false money laundering card to excuse their behaviour.

If there had been any issue concening money laundering these funds should never have been accepted by FCG in the first instance and should not have been paid to the client in the second instance. If any credibilty is to be given to the above comments it is FCG admitting they do not have any effective money laundering rules either in place or being respected. this is surely an issue for the regulatory authority who is responsable for FCG.
