AI Highlights
  • - I bought a 2006 Corvette with an extra care warranty.
  • - Head-up display failed; exclusions include dash pad, clock, and radio.

I bought a 2006 corvette from a Folsom lake ford. I was offered a extra care warranty on it that I was informed would cover everything except normal wear and tear items One year into my warranty the head up display is not working.

Even though the warranty says that high tech exclusions are dash pad, clock, radio and audio visual equipment. The heads up display is not covered as I guess it is not considered part of the instrument cluster and a separate item. It would seem that like most warranty and insurances they only try not to cover repairs. Contract is very misleading.

In a conversation with ford warranty representative I could not get a clear answer as to if the part was covered or not. They wanted me to go on the hook for 1100$ to remover the dash before they would let me know if they would cover it or nor.

Loss:
$2000
Cons:
  • Would not honor extended warranty for repairs
  • Not satisfied at all
