I have always loved your stores. It began in Norway in Trondheim, and I was very impressed by your stunning range of merchandise and great prices.

I was delighted when stores began to open worldwide, finally finding a store in Alicante, a city close to my home here in Spain. I have always found your staff to be happy, smiling, and polite, so a recent trip to Alicante saw me popping in to buy my 2026 diary, wondering what colour it would be for 2026. I bought some additional items too and was served by a silent, unhappy-looking assistant, that the receipt lists as being: Pilar 35870. After charging my card, Pilar just looked at me and said nothing.

She was silent throughout the transaction. I waited for her to get me a bag, but instead, she motioned towards a display of brightly coloured canvas bags. I asked her if there were any plain shop bags that I could buy, and she said no. As I was leaving, I found a display of paper carrier bags at 50 centimos each, and then had to pay cash 50 centimos from a 50 euro note.

Again silence, no apology or thank you, no smile. It made me realise that she could have asked me if I wanted a bag, if I had enjoyed my shopping experience, something. Nothing. This assistant, if you could call her this, had no experience of dealing with the general public, no manners, and no, there were no queues of customers or excuses.

Clearly, she didn't even have any idea of the merchandise available in the store either.

Why, when there is a shortage of jobs, as there is in Spain, would anyone give a job to someone who clearly doesn't fit in such a fun store as Flying Tiger? I was disappointed, and having given this miserable woman time to think, she couldn't even establish eye contact with me, say goodbye, or offer any apology for her apathetic attitude and uncaring manner.

I had an email saying my parcel was delivered; it wasn't, and nobody is getting back to me. This is not good enough, as these items are a present for somebody.
