I was forced to cancel my order because of a discrepancy and misinformation in your advertising.

AI Highlights
  • - Ad claims T6-600 measures voltage, current and frequency.
  • - Video implied T6 measures frequency, but T6-600 does not.
  • - Manual shows T6-600 lacks frequency.

I recently ordered a Fluke T6-600 multimeter. The ad on the Fluke.com website clearly stated that this particular device measures voltage, current and frequency.

Also, a video distributed by Fluke shows one of your reps displaying the T6 series and he states that the T6 measures frequency. He uses the T6-1000 in the video, but nonetheless indicated that both meters had this feature. This influenced me to purchase the T6-600. After my order was placed, I downloaded the user manual.

This is when I discovered that 600 does not measure frequency. I am an industrial maintenance tech and I troubleshoot Variable Frequency Drives on a daily basis. This feature would be extremely beneficial to me. When I called customer service on 8-22-22, I was requested to leave my number because of high call volume.

I waited nearly 2 1/2 hours, but received no callback. I placed another call and a rep answered within a minute. I inquired about the discrepancy between the manual and the advertisement. I was transferred between departments in this call 6 times.

Your customer service reps had very limited knowledge about the product. On the fourth transfer, I spoke with a technician who assured me that the T6-600 did not read frequency. He also was very skeptical that the Fluke advertising was erroneous and insisted that I email a screenshot of the flawed ad (which I did provide). My last transfer was back to the original customer service rep, where I canceled my order.

She suggested that I purchase the T6-1000 which is currently (no pun intended) out of stock. I was also offered a 10% discount on a purchase with Fluke, which is worthless if the product isn’t available. This ordeal was quite frustrating for me and is a poor reflection on the integrity of the Fluke corporation. In my subsequent email, your advertising mistake was acknowledged, but that is little help to me, as I am still shopping for a suitable multimeter that will address my needs.

I would appreciate your attention in this matter. Thank you, John Ford 580-230-****.
