FDLE: President of Tampa firm faces forgery charge Anthony Leonardo Anthony Leonardo staff Published: July 11, 2014 | Updated: July 11, 2014 at 02:05 PM The president of Tampa-based janitorial company faces a forgery charge after using a fake letter of credit to secure a $1 million contract with a state agency, investigators said. Anthony Leonardo, 35, of Apollo Beach, was arrested Thursday and booked at the Hillsborough County Jail. He is president of Building Maintence of America, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement said. According to FDLE, the state’s Department of Management Services entered into a contractual agreement with Leonardo’s company. As part of the agreement, Leonardo had a "letter of credit" in the amount of $1,051,000 delivered to the agency via UPS from Bank of America, investigators said. Upon receipt of the document, the agency contacted Bank of America and discovered the document was not authentic, according to FDLE. The agency then contacted FDLE to investigate. FDLE inspectors said they determined Leonardo fraudulently uttered the false "letter of credit" using a bank account that did not belong to him, fraudulent signatures and a UPS account that did not belong to the bank. Building Maintenance of America specializes in contract cleaning for government facilities, according to company website. Its address is listed as 2202 N. West Shore Blvd., Suite 200.

Florida Building Maintenance, they will rip you off!

florida building maintenance in tampa, fl is the worse cleaning company I have ever dealt with. The service is horrible, and they hire independent contractor companies to do the work for them and they do not pay those hard working individuals! The FBI should be contacted as they rip off staff. and they rip off customers (I know this first hand as a customer myself). If you need cleaning services anywhere in florida, do not do business with them as you will be just as sorry as I was when using them (they stole $5,000 from my office when cleaning). I will be suing them and the owner Anthony Leo! You are a horrible man Anthony. Sandra (Lakeland, FL)
