Problems with Flickr
I was not happy with Flickr at all. There were a lot of issues on their end that I already knew about but the blame was put on me.
They would send me new temporary passwords and none of them worked. And then they found out the issue was on their end. All of this took 3 days to resolve. The rep was terrible telling me to do this or that, nothing worked.
So finally everything is working normal.
Now Flickr did no notify me of any up dates as to logging in to your account. Thank you for your HELP
For the passed 2 days I have been locked out of my account with Flickr. I cannot share or download any photos.
The customer service is really bad. Everything that they suggested did not work. They kept on sending me temporary passwords, they didn't work(about 12 in all). I told them the problem was on their end and it was.
I sent them error messages nothing helped, so l am still without service to my account Can you help? Leon

Verified Reviewer | San Francisco, CaliforniaBanned me for unknown reason
I have an avatar that I take photos of and had a paid account (Pro) on Flickr. For no reason I can fathom, they terminated my account, banned me from ever being on the site again, and refused to refund my money for the paid account.
Flickr sucks. Run and don't look back. Find another photo sharing site. Seriously.
I did not violate any of their terms, or at least none that they warned me about or would tell me about.
Whatever you do, don't pay them to become a Pro site. They steal your money and arbitrarily kick you off.

Verified ReviewerResolved: Subscription dispute
Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with discount on future orders.
In 2007 I joined Flikr through Yahoo.com (at the time) It was guaranteed to be a safe and secure place to store all my precious photographs with unlimited storage accumulated over time. It cost US$19.99 subscription at that time and one could pay 2 years subscription in advance.
Roll forward a few years and Yahoo is acquired by a bunch of goons called Verizon (mid 2017 I believe) after which lots of bad things began happening at Yahoo which is yet another story. Some time later Flikr was hived off or acquired by an organization called SMUGMUG and that is where the whole thing has absolutely dissolved into chaos. Immediately annual PRO subscription rates for Flikr doubled They are using Digital River and/or Braintree as payment collectors. The two-year subscription facility was dropped - only one year PRO Membership allowed.
I objected but reluctantly paid my 2019/2020 membership as I have almost 12,500 photographs stored on the site. Recently I have received the subscription rates for 2020 and discover that not only have they increased again vastly but apparently because I live in Europe I now have to pay my PRO subscription in Euros which after conversion to US $ indicates yet another 50% price hike. The reason, excuse given is that they now have to charge European Union VAT/IVR on subscriptions. Payment in US$ is not permitted anymore.
After a ding *** battle with them, they formally offered me a 30% discount for the annual subscription but insisted that they would add the VAT/IVR to the bill. I accepted their offer of the 30% discount on the annual PRO subscription but insisted that they provide me with a properly constituted tax invoice/receipt when I renewed my subscription. When I went to renew my subscription there was no possible way to apply the 30% discount offered and accepted by me then clean out of the blue I get an unsolicited e-mail from them announcing that my PRO Account has been cancelled! I therefore lose all my precious photographs which are supposed to be retained in a safe and secure environment This has been done in a fit of pique by their employees who are angry that they be questioned.
Furthermore, they refuse to acknowledge or respond to any communication from me. My suspicion is that they are refusing to provide me with a proper tax invoice because they are applying foreign tax rates to their subscriptions and not declaring or handing over the tax receipts to the proper authorities thereby committing a criminal offense and in the process price gouging their customers'

Verified ReviewerPre and post yahoo
I use Flick since 2006, it was my first platform to share my pictures. I could spend hours looking at other people's work, I would be so excited to belong to a photography group..
that was BEFORE Yahoo earn the company. Now, I just post my pictures, add the info needed it and leave. I only use it for portfolio purpose and nothing else.
I don't know... it's colors of the website, the size or the accumulated pictures on my "Home" tab.
It's hard to tell what makes me want to leave the site soon.
It's sad.
I don't cancel my account for merely nostalgia because I still have my first photographies there. I can see the evolution of my work.
I hope they change for better!

Ficker poor poor poor service after yahoo
It’s a real shame I have used The Flicker photo sharing service since 2006/2007 since Yahoo took it on. Over the years I have uploaded over 40,000 photographs, it was great you could upload with all the metadata including Map locations, it all worked very well you could add plenty of Information, a very presentable web page for each picture, I loved it!
However as time Yahoo went increased the storage to 1 TB (more than enough) then they sold it on to Oath (2017–2018) and then SmugMug (2018–present).
SmugMug then brought in subscription, fair enough I thought both my wife and I signed up for it willingly I had spent all those years working with my photographs, sharing ,putting in groups, all good, the best bit for me were the stats page they provided it was interesting to watch your views go up.
You also had a dedicated help email where they would promptly reply to your questions.
Then smugmug told us they were going to transfer all the accounts from the Yahoo servers to Amazon servers. Then Flickr underwent site maintenance beginning on May 22nd, 2019, as part of the final steps of our migration off of Yahoo’s servers.
That’s when it all went wrong! When it came back online the first thing I noticed my views in the stats page had dropped by 650,000 views, I promptly contacted the help team the “Flicker Hero’s “as call themselves a prompt reply came back say there engineers were looking in to it, fair enough I thought your bound to have problems with such a huge transfer operation. I gave them I few days and tried again, because all my uploads were failing, another prompt email reply informing me engineers were “still” looking, but a fix was in place for the lost views, however I was still 650, short.
As time has gone on more problems have arisen;
1.Uploads failing at the last moment lost all tags
2.Map data missing after spending time formatting (this has always worked)
3.Map data missing off old uploads
4.Map data text changed from full location to just “England”
As time went on I Flicker have stopped replying to me now, I went in the Forum to find similar complaints, put on a few honest posts.
This was a mistake it would seem as coming back to the forum my posts are gone and I have been BLOCKED...
just get the message “our account is not able to post to the forums. If you require help, use the Help by Email system instead.”
As Flicker won’t reply to my email and I am blocked from the Forum any one got any ideas.
Thank you
