Don't use Fleurent Fuel Co.

Fleurent Fuel Co. in Southern Maine is a dishonest and immoral company. When we bought our first house, we hired them to deliver our heating oil, and signed up for a keep fill option so we would not run out. Our first fill was on December second 2009. When I checked my oil level on January twenty-eight, I could measure my oil level in millimeters. I called, and spoke to Mr. Fleurent himself, who claimed that I was not on auto fill, and if I was I would have had to call to get filled anyway. I told him that was why I wanted to be on auto fill, so I would not have to call. He then told me he would charge me an extra $80 to fill my tank, and if I ran out the restart fee was my fault, as well as any frozen pipes. I told him that was no way to treat a costumer, and he told me that I need not worry, I was not one. He dumped our account because I complained about his lack of service. I went to the BBB, and filed a complaint. Mr. Fleurent lied in his report to them, saying he tried to help, and that I was signed up, and that I was the one to terminate the contract. He left us in a rapidly cooling house on the coldest night of the year, with no oil, no service, and no hope of fixing that until the next day. Nights in Maine get very cold, that one was well below zero. Anyone who could do that, with two kids in the house has no soul. Stay away from Fleurent Fuel Co.

I have to say that I am a person who never feels compelled to write comments or do surveys; however, I feel to do so in this situation. I have to give a big shout out to Fleurent Oil as being a top notch company to work with.

In 2014 I was new to the Saco area and had picked another local oil company to service our oil needs. On Sunday Feb 1st Super Bowl Day I woke to an empty oil tank. Yes, a complete reckless absent minded thing to do, however, mistakes happen. It was bitterly cold out, it was a Sunday and more importantly it was Super Bowl Day and I had no oil.

I reached out to my oil company that I had been using since that September. An answering service answered the phone and i provided them our sad state of affairs. She stated someone would call me back. They did indeed call me back, only to tell me I wasn't a preferred customer so they would not be able to deliver oil to me on that cold Sunday day.

I found the term "preferred customer" interesting. Wasn't I a customer, so doesn't that make me a preferred customer. When I set up the account, no one gave me an option as being "just a customer" vs. being a "preferred customer".

They stated the best they could do for me was to bring oil to me on Monday. Desperate and cold, I started to then just go through the list of local oil companies in hopes someone would be able to assist me and get me some oil. Fleurent Oil saved the day...they came out and had to prime the furnace and filled my tank. I am forever in debt to this company, and they have won me over as a committed, long term customer.

I highly recommend this company and feel confident in saying they will go the extra mile for you, even if it is on a Sunday, and even if it is Super Bowl Sunday.

When we bought our house in Saco in 2011 we needed to get a fill and hadn't established service with anyone yet. We had multiple companies that turned down our cash payment for delivery ASAP and Fleurent Fuels was the only one to agree to delivery the very next day. They have provided us great service ever since and because of their service in the beginning, we are life long customers.

We haven't had a problem at all (except at blizzard time) with anyone coming out the next day to fill us up. We use many different companies, depending on the price and find what you experienced, not an issue.

Wished I would have seen this before they ripped me off as well. Their website says:

Special offer:

$.05 off per gallon

For first delivery

(new customers only)

#2 Home Heating Oil or K-1

Where does it say CASH ONLY? You're right, NO WHERE! I couldn't fill it right now and asked if I could put in $xxx and get the discount on the remaining 70 gallons or so. Shannon reluctantly kind of said OK but later called after charging my card and said she couldn't. She has the Fluerent last name, of course she could! They wrote on my receipt .05 discount but yet I didn't get a discount. I can take my business to where it is more appreciated.

my husband and i have never ever had a problem with fleurent fuel co. we to where on automatic delivery and even prepaid to save some money. they have always been upfront and forthcoming with information.

I have automatic delivery service through Fleurent Fuel. I just switched this past heating season and they were very up-front about letting me know that I needed to call the first 2 times once my tank got to a 1/2 so that they could then schedule my deliveries based on my consumption.

There is no "contract".

I can let him know when I want to stop automatically as easily as a phone call. I've had nothing but great service thus far!

:)That to bad I've had him for years and never had problems. Always keeps us fill up and tacks care of any problems that we have. I think we are hearing one side of the story.

wow. we have never had anything but wonderful service from Fleurent Oil.

We've had Fleurent Fuel for over thirty years with no problems. Saco
