I am leaving this review against Fleetsmarts doing business as Blue Water Capital, a factoring company based in Utah, for non-payment, coercive practices, and abusive conduct that have caused severe financial harm to my company and many carriers. In April 2025, I processed five loads through Fleetsmarts/Blue Water Capital, who confirmed receipt of payments from the brokers.
However, they failed to release the agreed-upon payments amounting to $5,812. On April 23, 2025, I sent a formal termination letter, as allowed by our factoring agreement, which permits cancellation at my discretion without a one-year contractual obligation. Despite my numerous daily calls and emails, Fleetsmarts/Blue Water Capital remained unresponsive for weeks, later making false claims that I was obligated to a one-year contract, without providing any documentation to substantiate their statement. The account manager, Matthew Amane, engaged in highly unethical and abusive behavior.
During a recorded phone conversation, he pressured me to sign a two-year factoring agreement at a 10% rate and stated that I should enroll in their fuel card program, promising immediate release of all owed funds without charge if I complied. When I refused, he threatened to hurt my business badly, claiming he controlled it, and used abusive language, including calling me an *** and *** This recorded conversation is available as evidence to support my complaint. These actions have resulted in experiencing cash flow issues since April 23, 2025, putting my business at risk of a total shutdown. Within three weeks of partnering with Fleetsmart/Blue Water Capital, I noticed a troubling pattern of deceptive practices: every load was underpaid, with the repeated justification of a system error that remained unresolved.
Ive signed up with another factoring company and fleetsmart DBA Blue Water Capital refused to comply to release my Company as Matthew threatening to hurt my business soo bad. I suspect that Fleetsmart/Blue Water Capital is involved in intentional fraud and predatory practices aimed at small carriers.
