Fitzsimons has been experiencing a noticeable decline in customer service and has deviated from prioritizing its members in its mission for an extended period. For approximately five years, reaching Fitzsimons' call center has often been challenging.
When successful, the representatives typically lack the necessary knowledge regarding online account issues. I frequently find myself compelled to request a supervisor or manager, a process that proves to be problematic. In the past, I relied on a long-standing former manager who consistently provided support in resolving my issues.
As a loyal member since June 1984, I have never observed such a significant decline in service quality, particularly over the past three weeks. Following the website update in October 2024, I was on hold with Fitzsimons call center for an hour and a half.
Upon requesting a return call, I did not receive a response until I reached out to the long-standing former manager to explain my situation, resulting in a callback after a delay of three days. I discovered that the website update had inadvertently led to a bill payment being withdrawn from my savings account instead of my designated checking account and granting me access to another individuals account without authorization.
Consequently, my husband and I opted to visit Fitzsimons in person. Regrettably, we encountered unacceptable customer service. We were misinformed about the cancellation of external transfers, and funds were transferred from our account without notification despite it being explicitly set up for bill payments.
Consequently, we initiated the process of closing our accounts and transferring our funds to Navy Federal Credit Union.
After withdrawing the majority of our funds, a process that took three days, we discovered ourselves locked out of the remaining accounts we left open. This situation necessitated another visit to Fitzsimons, where, after enduring a lengthy wait in line, a representative at the counter informed me that only Anna, the Branch Manager, could assist us. After an additional long wait for Anna, I communicated with the long-standing former manager once more to explain our predicament.
I will conclude my account here.
Although there is much more to this narrative, I believe it gives you enough to understand our complaint about Fitzsimons. It is disheartening to witness a credit union that once served military families and Department of Defense civilian employees with distinction now providing the most subpar service I have ever experienced.

This is the worst credit union I've ever used. Horrible.
The customer service skills are lacking dramatically and common sense doesn't seem very common there.
They couldn't set up the automatic payment correctly the first time, and set it up for 2023 instead of 2022. So we had to call and ask why our account was not debited. They saw the mistake. We paid a 10.00 transaction fee to pay over the phone and then ask that they set up the payment correctly.
So they set up TWO automatic payments and will not correct this. I think this was done on purpose to charge extra fees. When I call in to talk to someone it's only circles of *** as it takes forever for them to find the second payment, which caused nsf fees that they won't pay for either. They have predatory practices and representatives that think they did me a favor by giving me a loan.
No, I had excellent credit before I used them. The double payments have caused nsf fees and other payments of mine to not go through.
Seriously, never ever use this predatory, manipulative, unprofessional credit union for any reason, ever. You have been warned.

Fitzsimons took two payments out of my account at once because they couldn't set up the autopay correctly. Then we decided with Fitzsimons customer service, Mario, that they would skip a payment due to their error.
Well that didn't happen. And Mario, said they were doing me a favor giving me a loan. If it is a favor, I would like all the interest in collecting back please.
I would never recommend using this credit union for an auto loan. The customer service is horrible and they will double debit your account, and not do anything to correct it.

Verified Reviewer |Credit union did not mail Debit Card and blamed it on COVID. Went to the main location and employee & manger wanted me to give them my pin number to get a new card.
Everyone will notice closely when a SEX OFFENDER is posted about ab individual. Ever thought about why they do not post anything about your neighbor that has been hiding for years as a thief, robber, or other criminal activities?
How much do you trust or know your neighbor? Will you trust the individual in your home when you are not there? What about with your bank card or credit card? Would you give a stranger your password, pin number, social security number or keys to your car or house?
You create passwords, pin numbers, etc... and put locks on your doors to keep thieves out. Well folks, Fitzsimons Federal Credit Union asked me to give them my Debit Card pin number when I went there to get a new one. YEP, you read it right!
The normal protocol has been for me to personally key the number in with their keyboard without ANYONE seeing it. The employee insisted that I GIVE HER THE PIN NUMBER. I refused and the manager stipulated that I must comply if I wanted the Debit Card. I did not provide the number and was told the card would have to be mailed.
It has been over a WEEK and they STILL have not sent the card! The credit union blamed COVID for not sending the card. COVID gets a bad rap for everything even if you get caught withdrawing someone MONEY illegally. Donna Summer said it simply "She Works Hard For The Money." Therefore, you can not add or subtract from it!
DO YOUR BANKING FACILITY TREAT YOU RIGHT? Maybe if you are a celebrity.
Rodney Dangerfield "NO RESPECT" relates to the average person that banks. After all IT'S YOUR MONEY.

Horrible customer service has been 5 months and still can’t get problem solved.
They put car insurance on our loan when I sent paperwork 3 times showing we had car insurance they added 800.00 to our loan and it has been 5 months and still have the issue.

Racist name
Anyone that has kids knows that 200% of the time they hate to be corrected. Everyone knows 150% that a cheater or liar will soon be caught.
Anyone knows a 100% that if someone called you a racist name, YOU will know it. Your chance of a racist listening to you 0%. This is exactly happen after asking Fitzsimons Federal Credit Union, Aurora, CO to correct my name. We have in a society that requires legal documents for any official business transactions.
As former military, the DOD officially entered my name accordingly to my birth certificate. Therefore, it has been a document for other transactions. However, you would think that for almost three decades as a customer with Fitzsimons would have no problems with that. Well folks, you are wrong.
They were given a detailed history of the racist spelling but are only concern about profit, membership numbers, employment status, and a "F" paycheck. You can pay a customer to give a business a good rating.
Any business listed with the BBB pays a yearly fee to be listed. What you can do is rate a business a none star which these ones deserve.

Nightmare in the daytime, better than Nightmare on Elm Street
I had to close my bank account due to the fact that they linked my account with my daughter. I lost $9,000.00 because they continued to link the accounts.
A scam resulted due to lost of funds. I and my daughter went to the location in person because of the first link. A separate account was established for her. Dam, they linked it twice after her's was open than justified themselves for the lost funds.
It gets worst after I closed the account completely and open another one the dam teller asked me to give her my pin number while opening it.
Just one more thing. I attempted to do an online transaction and talked to 'f' four employees over the phone even a dam supervisor and none of the bastards could help me.
