Bought a Fish Rite stalker at American marine in kfalls great place to do biz and a great boat.. I did a factory tour in white city before I bought..

the owner of Ameriflex met with me and showed me be how they are built.. how the bottom was redesigned with the full length engineered reverse chine bottom.. great experience .. I recommend everyone do that tour, especially if your buying a boat...

I have had my boat for over a year.. got about 120 hours on it mostly lake fishing.. Klamath and lake of the woods it's been great. no issues..

flawless, I don't know anything about the old fish rite boats co. I would buy another one like mine without a second thought.. my buddy did.. bought a performer from pacific in Portland..

his cousin bought a new 21 ft Fish Rite performer up on Vancouver island in BC, we had a great day fishing salmon on the inside, put 5 Crome bright chinook in the box. Signed happy with my boat!

Also FYI the point of this website isn’t to promote your product it’s to address consumer complaints!!!

So if I was RH Boats/Fishrite i’d Be addressing the quality issues with welds and the design not sitting in your underwear in a basement making up stories of how you love your fictitious boat

Consumers and customers aren’t stupid

Guest

WELL I HAVE NOTHING BUT BAD THINGS TO SAY ABOUT MY RH BOAT/FISHRITE same manufacture who went into bankruptcy and stiffed me with a 17500 correcting the faulty workmanship and poor design !!!

Guest

You wait till you have a warranty issue then Ameriflex will turn their back on you and by the why the company is still in bankruptcy

Fish Rite Boats, HORRIBLE!!!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I bought this boat in 2012 and have had nothing but problems with it. The first thing that happened was the fuel tank design.

After filling the boat, it quickly discharged about 15 gal of fuel all over the decals completely them. The repair cost $3,600 including paying the mechanic to properly vent the fuel tank. The insurance would not cover the repair because it was a manufacture defect! The hull leaks like a sieve, the boat consistently hops at speeds over 15mph, and now a barring in the jet unit gave out and destroyed the impeller and the housing!!

This repair will cost me at least $3,500 and of course its out of warranty.

With that said, the boat has a wapping 86hrs on it!!!!! DO NOT BUY A FISH RITE!!!!!

Fish Rite Boats - Horrible craftsmanship

To say Fishrite puts out a quality boat is a laugh!. I have a 24' Performer, a few months after I bought it my wife kept complaining that here legs were getting wet any time we were in semi rough water, after crawling under the left side console I noticed a

4"x6" square hole where they didn't finish fabricating the bulkhead. I thought I was in luck due to the boat show was during the week I found the hole, I went to the boat show and found Jamie and told him the issue and his exact words " you must be mistaken, there can't be a unfinished bulkhead" I had to go home and take a video and bring it back to the boat show and when I showed him while other people around he quickly had me ushered away.

Great way to treat your customers! Currently I have a bad fuel leak, I took the seats and flooring out and didn't find the problem there so I pulled up the back decking and found the dumba***** ran the fuel pick up lines over a sharp aluminum strut instead of under it and the decking pushed down on the hose until the strut cut into the fuel line causing a severe fuel leak.

If anyone would like a picture proving they make *** boats I can send you pictures.

Fish Rite Boats Boat Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I have a 08 21ft fish rite performer that cracked down both sides at stern. Found out that it had no supports or welds to connect the stern to the sides.

We were over 30 miles from port and barely made it in. When we got back we saw another perfomer and it had the same cracks starting.

Incomplete welds and not enough structural support was the final Dino. Like this boat a lot but buyer beware

I also have an '08 21 ft. fish rite performer with the exact same problem.

I've had it welded twice, but its cracking again.

Any advice or picks of your fix would be helpful. Thanks

Fishrite Boats Boats Back In Production

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Fishrite, the custom boat builder out of Oregon that was down from production for a bit is now back building quality welded aluminum boats. The company was purchased by River Hawk Boats and are now being built in the same plant as River Hawk boats in Oregon.

They are as nice as ever and are equal in quality & value as any custom aluminum boat on the market. Esspecially matched up with Yamaha outboard power and can be seen from their new website.

The "Performer" of old is still a mainstay in the production line.

Sea Storm

As with the other complaints, i have had my boat for a year but it only took me 1 week to figure out why this boat never sold. it doesnt drain water, is nose heavy, switches for pumps are on the wrong end of the boat, pumps dont work as they are suppose to, water collects at the main entrance door and spills into the cabin, heater is pointed at the back of the drivers seat, fuel filter is buried, literally buried, under numerous hoses and electrical wires, so there is no way to get to the filter for replacement or to drain it.

on and on and on and this is a $100,00.00+ boat.

The owners, wont even take a call or call back after leaving messages. NUMEROUS emails with no response my suggestion

DO NOT BUY A FISH RITE BOAT

Fish Rite Boats

This is not a complaint. I found Fish Rite boats by recommendation by a famous fly guide in Michigan.

I was in the market for a jet boat and did a lot of research on companies making power drifters. After my research I decided that boats by this manufacturer were indeed tops. I inquired, got a quote, made adjustments and add ons by multiple phone calls. During manufacturing I have received nearly daily phots of my boat crafted to my specs.

Every thing has happened just as outlined in the original agreement without any suprises or oh by the ways. I have talked to Jammie, Greg, and Bob multiple times about the boat and its design details to my specs. They have been exceptional to work with. The best in my opinion.

All my previous research also revealed customers that were happy with their process and product. The previous gripe listed on this page in my opinion is unfounded.

Fish Rite Boats - out of business

I was devistated to hear that as of February 2013 that Fish Rite was forced into bankruptcy. I am really sorry to all of the supporters of this fantastic and honorable nationwide aluminum boat manufacturer.

I am still in really close contact with the owner/president of this fine company. If you are a fan and customer of this company I would be honored to pass on any encouragement or concerns (customers only). Feel free to contact me, Ms.

Caswell, at (541) 944-**** or E-mail me at : thecaswellclan@***.com. It appears that this economy just is not strong enough to support this family business.

I own a fish rite drifter and have had it for about 15 years. I also own Gregor (12 ft) and a Regal(27 ft).

Have owned lots of boats in my life and none have been any better built than the Fish- Rite. I seldom use it for running rivers( too old) but it is a very stable boat for fishing. Can stand up and move around without having to swim to shore.

In my humble opinion, anyone calling this boat a piece of junk, probably knows little about metal workingl Sad to hear a fine company like this, went out of business. Maybe if more old geezers had realized what a great fishing platform the river boat is, things might have turned out different

Guest

they are crooks they owed me $3500 and would not pay there bill, then they decided that they had know idea who I was. They will get what they deserve, looks like karma caught up with these TURDS!.

I will say my Kenai light is a good boat, I have put 300 hours on it and have no complaints. I had to take the name off the side of the boat just too spite them, I would still warn people not too buy a Fish Rite.

JD you are a *** and so is your dad

Guest

They went under for poor work. There are 5-8 boat builders that are still building. Side by side fish rite were junk.

I agree... to say they were junk only proves you don't know what your talking about...

they did build price boats... so if you paid pennies you got junk... if you bought their top end... they were some of the best...

I would compare a fishrite performer against any prop boat on the market...

and their lids, gloveboxes... some of the best in the industry.

Guest

I own since new a 1997 16' Pro-Guide drift boat. Great boat and love it.

Last year I ordered about $1,500 in parts but never received them. Had to do a credit card charge back and no response form Fish-Rite. No wonder they went out of business. Great boat.

Very poor customer service.

Their phone number still works but no one answers or returns the call. Adios and via *** dios.

Fish Rite Boats a rip off

Thought about purchasing a custom aluminium boat from them and I am glad I did not. My first initial call they answered my questions but could not give me a estimate even a ball park for the cost of the boat mind you they have been building boats for 20+ years. And the boat I was looking at was one of their standard models nothing out of the ordinary. I happened to be going on a buisness trip the following week and it took me through the town and state they are located in (Medford Or.).

I met with a salesperson and looked at a couple of differnt types of boats and asked him what they cost and he gave me a low ball rough estimate, I then asked for a estimate a specific model with some chosen options. They e-mailed me the estimate and I asked them to please re-work it because it was at least twice as high as the boats I looked at.

Well the came back with a estimate that was 15% higher, can you believe it.

I called back and this time I talked with the owner Jamie Dorsey and he said he would look into the matter.

He said "JD" must have made a mistake working up the estimate. All the estimates I recieved from them were written up signed by "JD". Well believe it or not the estimate went up another 10%. On the next one I recieved by "JD". Turns out you probably figured out "JD" is the one and only Jamie Dorsey the owner.

Now my phone starts ringing off the hook from the saleaman giving me the hard sell.Just unbelievable no wonder when I went to their shop it was like a ghost town with no visible boats being built.

Also remember Web Sites are very decieving and look great but go to the shop or place of buisness and you can see the true picture.

A family of losers starting with the Dad

Guest

While agree that it was hard to get a final price on a boat until Fish Rite actually had the order in for the boat I wanted. I found that to be frustrating as I could.

If you had looked through their website there is in fact a Jammie Dorsey (father) and a JD (son) shown on their website. So most likely you did talk to JD and then followed up with Papa.

Although if you call now, you can talk to Bob who is their salesperson. Yes he is a a little pushy but he got a quote for me within a couple of days

Guest

Fish Rite has sold out to River Hawk Boats, and is no more.

Guest

When you get a quote on a standard boat and then add a bunch of options then the price goes up. It's always nice to *** and moan in order to get something for free but most good customers know that upgrades cost money.

And when you get a quote on the boat you want and then want it shipped across the country then yes you have to pay for the shipping as well. Fish Rite has always been a great company that strives for customer satisfaction as long as the customer is honest and realistic.

Guest

Shut down I mean.

Guest

Well looks like it's a moot point anyway, they appear to be now shot down. No one has been at their facility for days, and there are no boats there anymore.

Guest

They are nice boats. Have spent about 200 hours in a river master.

They are built more than adequate although the craftsmanship and detail is not even close to the north river. Sorry but I'm a fabricator and that is just the fact.

Guest

I have owned two Fish Rite boats now. My first a '94 16' River master with a jetdrive and now the first built 1998 River Jet.

I know many people that own Fish Rite boats and are very happy with their selections. A number of boats are available that are more expensive and have better design characteristics, but I would point out that Fish Rite builds boats for specific applications and not only all around types that fit some but not all needs.

Especially for guides. Prices vary based on fabrication, but the product is still tops for me :)

Guest

I totally agree with the above comment as i purchased one of there boats and the salesman would not leave me alone. I own a 26 ft sea storm, nice looking boat.

but the quality is questionable. It (the boat) is nose heavy, will not drain unless you are on step, sitting at the dock you end up with 4 to 6 inches of standing water running into the cabin. the switches for all the pumps are in different areas of the boat where they should have been placed by the wash down pump not in the head. the emacerator pump is has been placed in the highest point of the boat and will not prime to pump out the fish hole.

the wiring is very suspect as i have just found out (hot lead and negative terminal on the same stud??) cabin heater is forced air, pointed directly at the back of my seat not into the cabin. Little things like this out weigh the nice look of the boat.

but you wont find that out until you actually take the boat and discover all the problems. i think the better business bureau and attorneys generals office will be getting a call!!

Guest

Sounds like the quote kept going up with the level of BS by a pesky customer they did not want...

Known the quality of work out of that shop for 20 plus years and at least 10 of my friends as well as friends in law enforcement LOVE the boats!
