Several Phone Calls with no Return / Unaccounted for fees
- - Long-time member who referred others to FirstMark Credit Union.
- - Management hasn't returned calls for 10+ days and fees weren't reviewed.
I’ve been using FirstMark Credit Union for many years for all types of loans. I’ve referred several indiduals to them.
They were a great institution until recently.....
As of now, I’ve been trying to get someone to call me back for more than 10 days from management.
I’ve left my number several times. They’ve hit my account with inappropriate fees and have refused to go through line by line over the phone to discuss them.
This has become a HORRIBLE banking institution and I wish anyone that conducts business with this place, the very best of luck because they will need it.
Lack of Customer Service / management doesn’t make an effort
- - Inaccurate overdraft charges and lack of communication.
- - Unresponsive management and supervisors offer no help.
- - Filed a formal complaint; stay away.
I’ve had OD fees that were inaccurate. I’ve asked to speak to management for over a week and still no call backs.
They have “Supervisors”, which offer zero help. Very disappointed with how they operate and lack of communication. Sadly, I’ve referred 3 others to them and I regret the decision. Stay away from this credit union.
I’ve filed a formal complaint with National Credit Union Association and truly do hope that something is done. If you’re thinking of opening an account, financing a loan, etc...
stay away. This credit union is BAD NEWS....
Payment not posting to account!
- - 3-year member; 02/22/18 payment returned, $25 fee.
- - Funds were later withdrawn from WF Checking.
- - Wells Fargo confirms payment received; dispute opened.
I have been a member for 3 years now! On 02/22/18 I made a credit card payment, only to learn 3 days later that the payment has been adjusted as returned, and a $25 returned check fee was assessed on my account.
I went in and made the payment again, this time the funds were electronically withdrawn from my WF Checking Account! Three days later I logged in to see if the funds had posted to my account.. Once again the payment had been adjusted, and another $ $25 RCF was charged.. I called Member services to see what was going on, the CS Rep.
Informed me that the payment
Was returned as insufficient funds, I informed her that the money has been taken out of my WF Account.. She informs me that they did not receive it, and transferred me to their Credit Card Zprocessing department,,now this is where the nightmare begins.. Needless to say, the reps repeatedly denied that the money was transferred.. Finally I called Wells Fargo, they clearly stated and verified that Firtmark had received the payment on 02/25/18!
And the rep suggested that I open a dispute for the transaction.. During the call the rep and I discovered that Firstmark added my credit card number to the receipt of the electronic transfer confirmation... but the last digit to the card number was missing. After opening the dispute, I called Firstmark Credit processing department to inform them of the missing digit of my credit card number.
After denying that this could be the reason for the missing monies, The rep finally put me on hold, spoke to her manager, then came back on the line..
Assuring me that the money will now be transferred back to my WF Checking account in 3 to 5 days! Now all of this took place on 03/01/18.. I waited patiently for the money to show up... It never did.
After days of calling back, and having to explain the situation to so many incompetent representatives in every department, and learning that the account was never updated with any notes, acknowledging that the money was found. On the 12th just when I was about to accept the loss, and let WFargo handle it, I reach a rep with a brain, and common sense as a added bonus: Roland at extension 10814. Roland was extremely sympathetic, and after listening to me, and tolerating my frustration, he kindly apologized, and promised me that he would do his best to try and resolve the issue.. Well what do you know: Roland places me on hold, and three mins later informs me that he had found the missing payment on a ledger, he assured me that the payment would post to my account the following day, and that all the returned check fees, along with a late fee, would be reverse, and credited to the account as well..
The following day I logged in, and as promised: the $775 payment had posted, but the fees all remained. Today I am too weak and distressed from it all, to even muster up the energy to be transferred and passed around again by one rep after another..
So I will give it a few more days then I'll put myself through it all again. Now here's the kicker, I HAVE ALWAYSED SUSPECTED THAT SOME OF MY PAYMENTS WERE NEVER POSTED TO MY ACCOUNT, and because I thought that I was crazy,,,I let it go, now I have solid proof of it, and my next step is to find the proper organization that will investigate this matter, and review my account/payment history.I assure you, I will be watching everything much more closely..I am convinced that something is terribly wrong with this organization, and the way that they process credit card payments...
- Very shady outcome

Company and security guard sucks!!
- - I was charged fees for paying off a car early.
- - There was rude service at the 1604 & Culebra Rd location; I was told to wait.
Had a account checking and savings... SERVICE WAS ***!!!
paid off my car early they charged me for paying it off early. Thought there was no fees for paying off a car early. Also the security guard 1604 & Culebra Rd location...before even getting to the lady I needed who pointed at me I walked up to the guy at the counter and said needed to close out account, what a a****-h****** he was. Came up to me and told me that I needed to wait to be called even after the lady pointed straight at my face and told me to come.
He needs to be securing the bank instead of getting his big brown nose where it didn't belong. With that being said I'm so happy I paid everything off and done with FIRSTMARK CREDIT UNION. I had some issues with another location here in south Texas, but that Culebra Rd. and 1604 location toped it...
what a ***. I thought I was a great bank, but turns out they screwed my family members as well.
I'm so happy to throw them out the door now. They been the worst Credit Union ever!
DO NOT DO ANY BANKING HERE WARNING!!!!!!!!!!!
- - Auto loan was late 2 months and car was repossessed.
- - They kept the auto claim money and used funds to cover the loan and negative checking balance.
I WAS A MEMBER HERE AND THIS BEYOND HORRIBLE!. I had an auto loan, checking, and savings.
Once I had an auto accident I was hurt and out on work leave for a couple of months to recover. The auto loan was late for 2 months and I kept the bank updated on my status. I they had my car taken right away from me (re pulled). Then finally 2 months later my auto accident claim was paid.
THEY KEPT THE ACTION AMOUNT FOR MY CAR, Did not apply it towards what I owed to them, and took from the auto claim all the money for the auto loan and took money from the same claim to pay of my negative checking account.
THEY ARE HEARTLESS AND THE "ONLY" Richard who works there is very rude! Warning if you just call them you can see for yourselves that this small bank is ruthless!
- Very shady outcome
- Rude employee named richard apparently he is the only richard
- Steal money from re pulled vehicle

Bank Manager with not degree
- - Why hire bank managers without a degree?
- - Online bank manager postings often require a 4-year degree.
- - The reviewer mentions firing Renee at O'Connor.
I would like to know why the CEO of Firstmark hires bank manager whom do not have a degree? What kind of business hires a manager with such low education.
Mr. Ewing what kind of business are you operating? Why did you fire the manager, Renee at your O'Connor location that has the education of my 19 year old daughter? Please explain.
Bank managers are suppose to be educated, skilled individuals not high school graduates that are put into positions because of favoritism.
If you look at any bank manager position on-line it requires that the individual have a 4 year degree.
No courtesy to remove over draft fees
- - 15-year customer at Firstmark uses direct deposit.
- - Three same-day overdrafts under $20 were charged $25.
- - Bank won't reverse fees, citing user error.
I have been a loyal customer with Firstmark Credit Union and have banked with them 15 years. I have always utilized their direct deposit option.
For the 2nd time in my history with this bank I over drafted with 3 purchases all under $20. I was charged $25 for each same day purchase. I explained to the representative that when I went online to check my account, I had available funds. This was a common error we all have made.
However when I called the bank they advised that because this was MY error and Not theirs they could not reverse the fees. I could understand if I continuously took advantage of their over draft protection, but I don't!
This is such a poor excuse to give a 15 year customer. I am very disappointed an needless to say will be switching banks.
