I had an agreement for a set per kWh fee for a set amount of time. Prior to the time expiration, First energy raised my rate, and when I switched providers to get a lower rate again, they billed me a $75 cancellation fee, when they were the ones who violated the agreement by overcharging me.

Can u please have a choice press 1 for touch tone or press 2 for voice response HATE voice response please have option for touch tone as soon as it starts and why waste my time when i select make a payment then go through all that info, just to be transferred and start over because I'm using my bank card it should all be transfered over to that... I am in the process of purchasing a house and the utilities have been turned off due to it being a foreclosure. i contacted Met Ed to have the electric turned back on for inspection and the first time I called I was on hold for 40 minutes which is absolutely ridiculous. I find it extremely disturbing that in this day and age of Identity theft and computer hacking of large companies, that it is the policy of First Energy that they request someones social security number to identify them over the phone. I guess they have never been the victim of ID theft and had their credit ruined by some unscrupulous person. I am without elec. I was shutoff. I tried after my son moved out to have it turned over to my name. With any balance owed. The pip was in my name why not the bill. They refused. I was being threatened everyday by my son. I called again. They refused to even speak with me about an account not in my name. My pip was paying. Supply pole in our yard very unstable and ready to snap off at base. Called power outage phone #... was told some would be out... 5 hours later...seen vehicle go by shining a light along road at poles?!...never got a call, never came to house?! Next morning... i call em again! Was told info given worker stated tree down on line?! WTF?! So...was told someone be out...9 hours later...nothing?! I started a service with your company in May of 2015. I left the apartment in November of 2015. I called and requested a call back never got the call back. I attempted to shut off my service and that is when the land lord advised someone was moving in so they would switch the service into their name. Over an hour on wait time and nothing rejectomg a payment but saying its been paid i will wait as long as i can!

Met ed is a joke! How many customers realize that when you move and transfer service that you are given a NEW account number and you OLD when stays active??? I made an online payment, nor knowing the above mentioned and i came home to find my electric shut off. NO ONE was helpful, said it wad my fault, even though they made a credit to the old account. The realized what happened after many phone calls and transfers, YET they refuse to come turn... Read more

It's Saturday I want to pay my bill unfortunately I don't have excess to my account number for service so I called to pay over the phone the dang robot asked so many questions including the last four of my SSN but can't give the 12 digit account number I'm so annoyed I have to wait until Monday never had this problem First energy needs to upgrade there phone system.
