Problem with acct
My acct is locked and you have no 24 hr reps. Will not be an easy night of sleep.
I had no notification that there were any issues. Just terrible.
Preferred solution: I would appreciate to be able to speak with someone when I have an issue.
User's recommendation: If you have an issue with your acct there is no help available after 7pm
This bank needs to get it together!
Currently, a CU member and had to use FC because of CU's strict policy on used vehicles. Got a decent used car interest rate with FC but not one person knows what the other is doing.
Attempted to set up by weekly auto withdrawal payments, and you'd swear they never heard of such a thing??? Hello, it's 2021 banks actually do bi-weekly payments. Couldn't set up over the phone, had to be sent a form and when we sent it back they were like what is this??? Then they started taking payments out before the authorized beginning date and tried to get me to make A PAYMENT AND A HALF!!!
Said they didn't see a payment pending and tried to get me to pay more, then said they'd stop the payment that, you know, THEY DIDNT SEE.
So bizarre, no two people will give the same information. this????
Preferred solution: Deliver product or service ordered
User's recommendation: Attempt to get your information confirmed.
Bank is horrible
I've needed a notary twice in the past month and both times "that person is out today" what's the point in having a local branch if you can't offer all the services.
Their online "Banking Experience" is horrible compared to other banks, it seems they use a third party for online banking since the format is similar to other small banks.
They wouldn't loan to us to purchase a house while other banks tripped over each other to offer us a loan (we have great credit and substantial income)
They wouldn't loan to a friend until they found out anther bank was going to loan to them and suddenly they could make something work.
Basically if you want a good bank look elsewhere.
- Will not wave annual fees for long time customers
- Outdated website
- Poor service poor communication
Preferred solution: Bank elsewhere
User's recommendation: Hometown bank, Bank of America, Chase Bank, or any other bank...

Verified ReviewerStay away from this bank. Use PNC
Stay clear of this bank. Fees and arrogant management won't work with you.
It's all about their money they can pull out from you. I secured a business loan with First Commonwealth with the up front assurance from an officer of their bank that if I paid my loan off early with personal funds there would be no prepayment penalty of 2%. When I went to pay the loan early there are stubbornly mandating their 2% early payoff fee and won't honor what their employee promised. Went to the president, and she dug her heels in and would not honor what her employee promised.
She was actually quite rude . I have never been late on a payment, always honored their frequent request for personal and financial requests (big hassle) and paid 4+ years of high interest to be treated so poorly. Go to PNC they are an honorable bank that stands behind their promises.
First Commonwealth does not and will extort as much as possible from a customer. I would give them a negative five stars if possible.
- List to long to add
Preferred solution: Waive 2% payoff fee
Difficult and uncooperative
The Blairsville office of First Commonwealth bank has extremely difficult in trying to obtain a simple power of attorney. They have been difficult and uncooperative in regards to what should be a fairly simple procedure. I will be removing any money that is with First Commonwealth bank

Archaic and ignorant
I belong at this bank , I use several branches around Pittsburgh!
They are all the same non caring, staff, not enough staff, archaic atm s. And Munhall branch is the worst with white oak a very close second. Have complained before no one cares !
Don't Bank With Them
To whom it may concern,
I spoke with Sharon at First Commonwealth Bank (1-80*-221-****). I called the local branch in December of 2016 and was told the last payment was due on March 2017. I stopped making payments because of that phone call. Now, Sharon will not waive the $375 repossession fee. I'm asking for your help. I'm contacting an attorney and I'm telling everyone I know not to bank with First Commonwealth. The bank made a mistake because it was the local branch, they do not record messages, there is no proof. So, I'm responsible for an employee's mistake... a 375 dollar mistake.
Letter written to First Commonwealth Bank regarding vehicle repossession and fees.
I am requesting that repossession fees from June 2017 be waived. I called First Commonwealth in December 2016 and asked when my car payments would be completed. I was told in December 2016 by a First Commonwealth employee that my car payments would be completed by March 2017. I made the final payment, as the First Commonwealth employee told me, in March 2017. In June 2017 a repossession truck blocked me in and asked if my name was John. I said no it was James. He tapped the roof of my car and said this is ours. With onlookers looking on, our neighbors, he went on about a bankruptcy I had filed in January of 2016 and said the car was yours. I was told by a First Commonwealth employee in December 2016 that all payments would be completed by March 2017. I never received a notice of repossession in the mail, a phone call, or any notice regarding late payments or repossession. The only knowledge I had was that my car was completely paid off and that knowledge came from the First Commonwealth Employee I spoke with in December of 2016. I had not missed a payment prior to April 2017 nor have I missed a payment since June 2017. The manner in which I was treated in June 2017 by the repossession person was with great disrespect, embarrassment, and insult. Even after I went to the bank to make a cash payment, he continued loudly talking to my wife about bankruptcy in front of my neighbors. I respectfully ask that you waive the repossession fees based on the information I provided above.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
James Baker

LOL.. Go to PNC huh?
Something tells me you have been to the PNC complaint section of this site. Look, you have a contract, pull it, go in there and show them the terms YOU agreed to in WRITING. If it's as you say, they should do right by you. If not, you learned a lesson about what sounds like a handshake agreement.
What kind of business person are you to not know when it comes to brass tacks, it's always about what you sign. "You must work for them."
