Daughter had a nasty fall from high diving board with concussion. Dr and staff were excellent and we received good care.

HOWEVER, we paid estimated deductible amount and when insurance claim was processed, I was due a credit of $178.00. This was back in July 2019. It is now January 2020 and still no return of funds. Every time I call, they have a back log, they just need more time.

Very unethical company. I'm reporting them to BBB.

Wife was taken to Choice Emergency room with a rash that looked like poison ivy.

She called while she was there and informed me that it was going to cost $700.00 to be seen there, I was really questioning that amount but she was already there as hardheaded as ever, then suddendly whatever it was that caused the rash was ultimately my fault, or was soon to be so if I insisted that she call our family doctor. So in spite of thinking that $701.00 to just see a doctor was way high I told her to go ahead and do whatever she needed.

Anyway, NO blood testing, NO urine testing, NO pathological testing of any kind, all they did was prescibe antibiotics, and look at her rash. Oh yeah, no even a referral to an allergist or dermatologist, basically what they did for her she could have received from any doctor for around $100 to $200.00 dollars as they were no lab fees, no medication fees, no procedures of any kind.

Today we received two bills from these crooks, one for about $2400.00 for the clinic and the other for nearly $1400.00 for the doctor. I called the clinic and asked what this was all about, that this bill is way out of line with the services rendered.........Folks, I am not kidding, the rude, condescending desk person said this " We are an emergency room, we can charge whatever we want" ....Folks she couldn't contain herself and began to laugh before hanging up.

People, this "emergency room" is a pure rip off, it does not matter if you ask for the costs ahead of time as my wife did...once they have your information they will cram, jam or whatever any amount they feel like and then laugh in your face.

We are going to the news media with this one, we are going to the Texas Attorney General Consumer Fraud Division, we are not taking this one laying down. I was upset at the $701.00 to just see a doctor, I am really really mad about these crooks doing what they are doing to people, lying, overcharging, and then laughing about it.

Stay away, they will charge you if not as much, they will charge you more for way less than a regular hospital emergency room.

These folks need to be prosecuted for fraud, THEY ARE FRAUDS.

I guess they figure if you do not give in to their crooked inflated bills and pay them that they will simply just try to ruin your credit.

These are not good folks, stay away.

Preferred solution: I am filing with the Attorney General and contacting the consumer reporter at the local TV stations, may even sue them if wife's credit is affected by this.

The same thing happened to me in Houston, TX... Quoted 900$ for a one hour stay for IV fluids and drip of tylenol to reduce my fever, and got 2 invoices totaling over 7000$ in the mail for services rendered.

Refused to give me a detailed invoice explaining why.

No antibiotics, nothing done. The front desk told me the same thing and she laughed at me too when I said I wanted to see my medical record and an invoice detailing the charges.

Sounds like you made a series of mistakes. The first one was your choice of a spouse, which you alluded to by your comments about her.

The second was in, apparently not having health insurance. An "emergency" room is for the word "emergency" in their title, not for a rash of unknown origin. With no insurance, you pay the going rate. Yes, they can charge accordingly.

This is how we learn. Would not it have been much better if you had learned prior to "popping the question?"

I see you have lots of time in your hands, all of these comments to other people's complaints. You either do not have a life, are a pitifull, lonely, miserable screw ball with nothing to do but read about other people's life's experiences, or just plain sick POS.

Mind your business! My wife may be hard headed sometimes, guess what? At least I have a wife!

You have nothing apparently, unless we are to consider some inanimate object that could put up with your sick perfectionism, and self adoration of your perfect self. IDIOT!!!

Price Gouging

The doctors did a good job and answered my questions well and in a kind fashion. However, the shock came when I got my bill.

For starters I paid a $100 upon leaving the emergency room after taking my son in for care. He had a fever and it appeared that he had pneumonia which was confirmed by X-ray. About a month later I got a bill for $38 from the radiologist. No problems.

Then I find out that my insurance company had paid about $2000.00 and I was still on the hook for another $2900.00. So for a visit of less than 2 hours I was charged about $5000. This makes no sense.

I get that this is an Emergency room but it makes not sense to essentially bankrupt your family for a fever. This is crazy.

First Choice Emergency Room (FCER) $10,000 charge for 1.5 hour visit

First Choice Emergency Centre Haslet, TX beside the Pizza Hut on 287 & Avondale Haslet (near the new Walmart). I just received the bill and did a bit of online research, and I should have read the online reviews before going. I just called them @ 855-694-**** (www.peryourhealth.com), and Sherry (in billing) informed me that the women that checked us in that night "should have informed us that the cost would be much higher due to the fact they are an Emergency Room facility." I thought the woman that checked us in First Choice Emergency Room Haslet was incredibly helpful and friendly, and I'm not sure she would be entirely excited that her own company just threw her under the bus. An hour and a half visit = $10,000 charge to our insurance company. I called our insurance co (Blue Cross) and the woman warned us this company is known for overcharging patients.

From a Fort Worth Star Telegram article:

"Yet there is a growing backlash to the lucrative medical facilities, where sprained ankles, stitches and other simple procedures can cost upward of $1,000. They have drawn angry complaints on Yelp and Ripoffreport.com. And health insurer Aetna is suing two ER centers in Texas, alleging fraud." My son had a CT scan $3,562.00

Image review was $268.00

Morphine Injection $5.00

Ondansetron pill $52.00

Office visit $6,549.00!! for 1.5 hours!

Talked to the Dr for 15 min, had a CT scan (which I can understand charges to be higher) but $6549.00 for consulting w/Dr. We should have gone to a CareNow Urgent care, which has given us great service in the past, and very fair billing.

Sore Arm rotator cap injury cost $3400 visit to clinic $2800 don't go!!nbnb

Don't go! Cost too high!!!

Sore Arm, rotator cap injury. I could not lift or move my arm without pain. The doctor looked at it, give me a pill, a shot, a prescription and list of doctors. Although I am graceful for the list of doctors, one in which helped me. The cost of this visit is way to high for the amount of care I received. No wonder people are afraid to go to these clinics, next time I will go to a hospital. My insurance warned me against hospital emergencies, but what they to warn us is about these pop up emergency clinics!! Help me! I need an spokes person.
