Nothing resolved yet. Contacting state board now

Original review Jun 21, 2025
I was applying for a rental property. I have no prior elections, no problems with the first month and deposit, yet they kept my $60 application fee and stated that I cannot rent from them.

I demanded a refund due to the fact that I was not giving any denial reason, but when I contacted them they stated I had to call the property management, when I called the property management they stated I had to call findigs. What's even more amazing is all of the men are named Phil and all the women are named Andrea. When charging my card they demanded that I go on Google and give them a good review, which I've already changed. None of them speak English as a first language and I believe they are all from India.

This is a massive scam ring and I'm looking into what I can do to sue them and shut them down.

Anybody could put a lock box on a door handle and charge people to tell them no. It's unfortunate that I do not know how to get a hold of the property owner or I would let them know what is going on and why they haven't gotten their place rented for over a month now.
Loss:
$60
Pros:
  • Non

Preferred solution: Full refund

User's recommendation: Any company that uses this company is most likely in on the scam.

Shouldn't take money for no reason.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - They billed me for an application even though the apartment was rented and no denial reason was given.
  • - No contact about status was provided.
Findigs - Shouldn't take money for no reason.

They seem to think they can just charge any number of people for applying. I have amazing credit.

I just like living well below my means. There is no way I couldn't afford this apartment. Also they didn't cite a reason they denied me the apartment. They said it was rented.

Ok, then don't charge me for my application. But no. They just billed me. They are a scam.

Apartment rented 2:33 pm. Billed that morning at 11:30 am. No contacting me and letting me know I was in the Q or being considered. What if I found a different apartment?

Every other place only bills you IF you are interested and ABOUT TO GET THE APPARTMENT! They usually contact you make sure you haven't found a place then bill you.

User's recommendation: Do not use Findigs!

My application for Mckinley's Park Place, Ann Arbor, MI

AI Highlights
  • - I applied to reside with my daughter for a live-in aide; my application was canceled and I may lose $40.
  • - I submitted required social security docs.

Due to my daughter's health, she requires a live-in aide so I applied to reside with her.You required recent social security documentation which I obtained within a few days and sent back to find my application had been canceled. You did not, at any time, warn me there was a time limit and that could happen and I would forfeit my $40, I do not have another $40 right now at Christmas time, yet I must get approved to live here. I beseech you in the spirit of goodwill to finish the process on the money I've already paid.

I thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely, Kathleen Soule
