My buyer was foolish enough to use your crap service, we closed at 1130ish and my buy was 2PM. I waited till 1 at the closing and no wire transfer, it got to be 2PM and we had to close, so we had your team wire the whole amount to the title company.

That took so long that the title company didn't have enough time to wire the balance to me before the banks close. so I somehow made 100k today but can't see it and have no access to it because of your ineptitude.

Thanks for ruining a day that I really thought couldn't be ruined. I wish I could rate you less than 1 star

I was in the middle of a refinance with this company.. all was going well until the week we were supposed to close.

No communication at all! After numerous calls I finally received a call back from the processor that ultimately said we had a problem my initial response was we? Maybe she had a mouse in her wallet! They needed more information from my accountant Im self-employed with a simple tax return my net income to liabilities is 10.8% if they cant figure out my tax returns then that are *** Either way they then called me back after multiple calls with my accountant (at a cost to me) they apologized for the delay but than proceeded to let me know that my rate was set to expire and I was now due a rate extension..

what? They wanted to charge me roughly 3k to extend my rate! At this point I almost lost my mind.. my loan officer..

some honest aid marine promised he would handle.. this never happened!

He was a condescending *** He reassured me that the president of the company Kyle Fitzpatrick would call me to resolve to date no response! Ive lost thousands of dollars with this sham company stay away are my recommendations!!!

Terriable service

One day I received a call asking me to refi the reverse mortage I currently have with them. The salesman was very nice, polite and seemed sincere. He told me he could complete a refy in under 25 days. I had at this point completed Counseling and had two appraisails completed by acredited appraisers. This is why he said he could get it done in under 25 days, all they had ot do is run credit and close. That was over 100 days ago. Since then I have had to answer a barrage of requests for explanations, each new one would lead to another.

If you take the 2-3 weeks of processing time I was told by them would shorten the process, I have lost 121 days and counting.

My first loan with them start to finish took only 30 days.

What the *** has happend to this once fine company?

Have the good old employees all quit because of the now incompetent policies? There is an old saying " a business is only as good as its worse employee" I have started thinking they are broke with no money to lend, they sure don't deserve any new business.

Maybe a Class action lawsuit would be a good thing to teach them they can't treat their borrowers with such poor service, More to come on this later. Maybe name's would help warn off future borrowers, who knows but worth a try? What I have stated is my opinion, you make yours.

Unreasonable guidelines

Finance of America has policies that are way too specific and not flexible considering circumstances like the current snow storm. They ask for a lot of paperwork and are not reasonable at all.

My biggest problem with their service is that what they request sometimes doesn't logically make sense.

For example, they confuse you with a different person who has a similar name but totally different age and social security number when they do a background check. Overall, if you want to get a loan from Finance of America get ready for a bumpy ride!

Worst Mortgage processing I have ever seen!! 4 extensions due to processor and underwriter stalling the process.

It took 17 days to get an appraisal ordered. They wasted my clients time for over 47 days and we still did not close on time. This is the worst of the worst in lending! We sent bank statements and paystubs over and over because they kept losing our paperwork.

I have never seen a company so unorganized and unprofessional in all my life! This was a terrible experience for my client as they lost the house due to the seller being frustrated with all the extensions.

We started working with finance of America at least with 6 weeks ago . This is a refinance of our tenant occupied condo .

We are doing a refi to put as a down payment for a another rental property and to buy a franchise of a commercial cleaning business. Everyday , the 2 underwriters were asking for multiple paperwork , making my husband and I look like fools and we have stupid written on our forehead .

Finally , tonight we got an email from one of the underwriter clowns that we might not get the refinancing even if we have our condo as a collateral . Never again - they will

Put your lives in a roller coaster and would make you feel incompetent .these 2 underwriter clowns have a very narcissistic Napoleonic complex

Finance of America Reverse gave us a better deal. We were getting more money through them. The loan officer that I talked to sounded honest. He said that he would be there for us through the whole process, but he was not. Every time we went to the next step that we agreed, we would continue a bit further. Then if I had questions, I didn't get any phone calls back. He wasn't in the office, so I had to go to his supervisor, and the supervisor explained things differently than the one that we talked about with our loan officer. By then, we were too far in it.

In the beginning, the rate and the terms of the mortgage were reasonable, but it ended up being a bit unreasonable. Finance of America changed the rate due to different things and it was going back and forth. So we got stuck with whatever they tried to give us. The process took a little bit longer than three months. There was a week or two that my dad was in the hospital and we couldn't do anything. The loan officer told me it was gonna take two weeks and the others said it would take over 30 days, and it ended up a lot longer than 30 days.

Right now, I'm waiting for Finance of America to pay for our insurance policy, which was in the contract. It has not been paid for and has been expired for about a few weeks. The insurance company has contacted them. We’ve also contacted them, but I'm not getting anything resolved. Also, the loan officer kept saying that he was A1 rated with the Better Business Bureau. The name brand itself has an A1 rating for two of its offices and the rest of them are either B or C, but the person's office that I dealt with has an NF, which means there are a lot of complaints. His documents saying he has an A1 rating with Better Business Bureau is false.

Finance of America Reverse doesn't have a manual or information explaining how the reverse mortgage is calculated and the different types of loans that are available. You have to go by with what your loan officer tells you and with my experience calling several different companies, you are gonna get several different answers, so it gets quite confusing. There’s really nothing that a consumer can refer to. Finance of America also has several different offices and they need to keep track and do further investigation of their employees and how they are running their office and what they are telling their customers. It seems like everyone is deciding what they wanna tell you.

Yes. They did the same to me.

It's back and forth with requesting the same paperwork over and over, changed rates after guaranteeing another rate, dragged on and on. What a mess.

I agree. They are awful in communicating.

The first call back we got after emailing them for information, they left our home phone number as a call back number. We used the phone caller ID to call them back and of course couldn't get anyone to answer. Left voice mail, but didn't get any call back. I left email telling them what I thought of their company and got a call back shortly after that.

Talked with an agent who took all my information and said he would call us between 2 and 3 P.M. Monday, the 3rd. Never got a call and it is Tuesday afternoon.

Terrible company to deal with. Wouldn't answer a call from them now if they paid me to.

The worst financing experience ever!!!

As a realtor, I deal with a lot of different lenders. I used Finance of America for a personal transaction, and it was a nightmare!

I would never, ever recommend this company to any client, period! As a real estate professional, I knew what to expect through this process, but I was not prepared for what we went through. It was so bad, numerous employees quit throughout the loan approval process. No one knew what anyone else was doing.

I can understand the asks for someone who is borderline in qualifying for a loan, but we were more than capable of paying cash for our property (which we considered on many occasion after how the process was going). The repetitive requests and "letters" required (which always took 3 - 5 versions before we said what they wanted us to say) was ridiculous!! They questioned $200 HOA which I had provided numerous documents showing, but even legal documents would not appease them. And then they promised after all the issues, we would close on a certain date.

And that didn't happen either......just a pure disappointment for a lender! I will never refer this company to any client I ever have.

Never trust Finance of America

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

The biggest crooks in the refinancing industry. They will distroy you with the empty promisses dragging for 2 months then they will appologize meanwhile you have lost the best time to refinance cheaper rate.

They lied from locking the rate and sending me all the approval and conditional approval and when I completed all the docs they dragged again and when I was away for my job they cancelled all without my concern.

The bastered broker was Brian Smith and the under high school graduate processor Mary Joan Bryan. I got all their approvals in my email but never got the documents to sign?
