I set up a trial for a business client I support. When we decided it 'wasn't for us' the process of putting back all the files from users existing personal accounts was PAINFUL and I am still not 100% that data was not lost. I love the personal dropbox solution, but we wa...
Dropbox is a scam
by shininglawfirm #8981711.0
Dropbox told me that it's business edition would be 15.95 per person. It also refused to sync between my two computers. I had less than 250G worth of information in my various folders some shared with others. It suggested that I sign up for Dropbox business, which I did. I got a bill unannounced after 30 days for 750.00 with no explanation whatsover!! So I downloaded my files and complained, as well as stopped payment at my bank. I also downloaded my files in case they shut off my acccount in total.
When I downloaded the files, it mistakenly downloaded and DELETED all the shared files on my friends' and colleagues' shared folders!!!! It has taken nearly a week to get them restored, and they are all furious. There is no customer service number to call unless you are on Dropbox Business. They refuse to call you at all. They take a full day to answer simple e-mail system requests. The whole experience has been horrible and worse, mysterious. They are uploading ("restoring") the files one at a time taking about 30 files per hours. With 5000 files to go, it will take DAYS to reload them with no explanation as to why.
This is a horrible horrible service. Don't get fished in by their marketing and seemingly simple solutions. They have the worst customer service and when things go wrong, they go very very wrong.

Time as customer dates back 10+ years to company that was bought out by Electric Mail then Fuse Mail. Reasonably satisfied over the years, clunky and inconvenient webmail portal, but generally decent service and competent tech support on the few occasions needed. Three...
Dropbox - Sharing files
by PissedConsumer895157 #8951571.0
Sharing files from my Dropbox folder has become a pain. Why were changes made?
In the past my friends would click on the link and be able to access a thumbnail sheet of photos. They could then choose, enlarge, and scroll through the entire batch. Now they go through an unfathomable litany of instructions and permissions. Dropbox was so great because you didn't have to subscribe to anything to access a file.
Now I don't even use Dropbox and there isn't an alternative I like. I can't add enough words to make up the 100 without being redundant and ridiculous.
What an infuriating requirement. Pooh, Dropbox.
Dropbox no longer works
by PissedConsumer933421 #9334212.0
Until a few days ago (early October 2016) sending a Dropbox Link to a folder in my Dropbox via email allowed the recipient to access that Dropbox folder directly. This was one of the main reasons for using Dropbox.
This no longer happens.
We now see a Browser view of the contents of the link. This does NOT allow us to do what I have done for years. Now we must download every file in a folder individually, which gets even more tedious when a folder contains sub-folders.
This is NOT AN IMPROVEMENT.
It has destroyed one of the most useful functions of Dropbox.
PLEASE REINSTATE THE PREVIOUS WAY IT BEHAVED.

Had a film project I wanted to share with some close friends and family, went to move it to drop box, drop box decided it was going to delete the file I moved it to then create an entirely different folder without my project in it. Thanks.

Dropbox File Hosting Software Review

Dropbox. You charged me $850 without notifying me.
I wanted to try dropbox. You charged me one years worth. That is one year's worth of service. This is not right.
People do not earn money easily we work hard for it. You have done this to way too many people. You should change your policies and actually notify people before charging their credit card. Not only is this customer service but also courtesy.
I did not receive any notification saying "your trial is almost over. How is our service? Do you need help? Would you like to continue with our service?
We would need to charge your credit card if so." I want a refund. If I need to file a million complaints with BBB, complain on facebook and other sites, I will.
This is just not right.
It is taking advantage of people who just want a trial... A trial..
