Verified ReviewerDissatisfied customer
Visited 5/3 location 350 Wabash Ave in Terre haute Indiana on 2/6/23 for a customer service question. My wife needed to visit the ladies' restroom.
She was denied access with the reason "We don't allow the public to use our restrooms". You will need To go somewhere else. After 3 employees told us the same, all in anon-professional manner ( one who was a teller 40 feet away and was also waiting on a customer at the time, yelled something like you can't use the restrooms. Why she also had to get involved I'm not sure.
We left without conducting any business. I wanted to close the account then... but I realized my Social Security check goes there. After other arrangements are made, I will have them sent to my other Bank in Paris, Illinois.
After reading several other negative comments regarding customer service at the 53 Bank in Terre haute, I must admit I was not surprised by their actions.
I originally opened my first 5/3 account in Erlanger Kentucky in 1990.
I have been a customer on and off since then, with my last being at a location in Bradenton florida. I visited several locations in Bradenton and always had great customer service. They treated all their customers equally and always in a friendly and respectful way.
It's always hard to get rid of a bad customer, but apparently this location has no problem in getting rid of a good one.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who has had a bad experience at this location. I will be closing my account with 5/3 in the next 30 days.
- In florida there were several locations with well trained professionals
- Very bad customer service in indiana

Verified ReviewerTheir Website Doesn't Work
I'm writing this review for two reasons. First of all, their website doesn't work.
Secondly, I can't give them direct feedback about this, via E-mail or any typed correspondence.
One key thing, that I now look for in a bank, is the ability to check my account, online, at any time. In the 21st century, this should be a standard feature for any bank. Fifth Third fails, miserably, with this.
I signed up for online banking. Unfortunately, the website doesn't work, at least, half of the time.
I try to sign in, but it won't let me. I've had to change my password, multiple times, despite typing in the correct one. Over and over again, it fails, and gives me a number to call, in order to resolve the issue.
In the beginning, I called the number. I spoke with technical support, and they suggested things like, using another browser, or clearing out the cache of the browser.
At first, using a different browser, seemed to solve the problem.
However, now, that doesn't even always work. And why should I have to use a different browser, in the first place? Why can't they just make it work?
I used to use PayPal. When I did, I never ran into these sorts of issues.
Their website works, all of the time, as expected. I would switch back to PayPal, except they've made it difficult for me to add money to my account -- which is another problem that I don't completely understand.
This is maddening. In this day and age, websites should work.
I've wanted to E-mail Fifth Third, and send this frustration to them, as written feedback. However, they don't offer E-mail as a means to connect.
They only give phone numbers.
I don't like speaking on the phone, because they're usually only available during certain hours.
Also, I'm, often, in a public setting, and I hate having to speak my business in front of complete strangers -- especially if I have to give sensitive information, like account numbers.
I'm so fed up that I'll, likely, switch to a different bank. Hopefully, they'll be more modern, and will offer a website that actually works.
- I have a local branch that is conveniently located
- Website fails consistently
Preferred solution: I'd like them to fix their website.
User's recommendation: Don't use Fifth Third if online banking is important to you.
Openly express they don't want people coming into bank
User's recommendation: Find another bank!!!

5th 3rd Bank dropped me as a customer, saying I was doing unsafe banking
My fiancée and I tried to send $20,000 to a company she was dealing with in Bahrain. The back turned it down and said that wasn't safe to do.
Being fed up with for 5-6 years, I decided to look for another bank.
I opened an account with another bank and stated moving all my accounts to them.
Fifth third accused by of (I forget their wording) unsafe practices and shut down my debit and credit cards and said I had 30 days to get all my money out, and they were closing all accounts.
Put me in a hardship situation, couldn't pay my bills, etc.
etc.
The New bank let me transfer money, wire funds, do all kinds of things without accusing me of doing anything illegal, which I wasn't.
The Woman in their fraud department was rude and unprofessional to the max. She didn't deserve keep her job!
User's recommendation: Don't use this bank!

Verified Reviewer | Euclid, OhioHolding my money
I've been banking with fifth third for over 3 years now, they finance my car loan, so when I moved back to Cleveland I open a checking and saving account, where my paycheck are direct deposited, right now I'm so disappointed with them, I deposited a check from the owner of the company I work on 6/5/23 as of today 6/12/23 they still haven't released my money and said it will not be released until 6/16/23, I've never heard of a back having to hold a check for 2 weeks, I can't pay my mortgage or any of my bills this is unacceptable. I'm totally disappointed with how I'm being treated.
This is how your customers are treated. I will be taking my business to another bank

Verified Reviewer | West Jerusalem, West Jerusalem DistrictDispute deposit reversal of $15k in January that was deposited is October
I have no clue as to what exactly happened. I made a deposit from my client at the end of October.
There was a 10 day hold placed on the deposit. The hold on the funds were released on 10 November 2022. Inclement weather ensued and the client was informed that this would delay the start of the performance. The client was on board, recognized the situation, and approved the delay.
On or about 12 January 2023 the deposit was reversed and the $15k sent back to the client. This deposit was reversed after more than 60 days of being in my business bank account. I am a licensed, bonded and insured general contractor and had placed all factors and subcontractors into their roles. The architect that produced the drawings was from my team.
This performance was an outdoor project of rebuilding a brick garage. How is it possible that a deposit can be reversed on a contracted project after more than 60 days

I am a new first time consumer and am experiencing the same issues. I concluded my auto loan deal over a month ago and have yet to hear from anyone.
I find myself having to track them down so I can make my payments etc. I've been on the phone with them repeatedly usually for over 45 mins.
trying to set up a PIN and PW with no luck. So far my experience has not been what I feel it should be in this day and age.
