Verified ReviewerAwful Customer Service and Rude Management
- PT sessions repeatedly canceled since July with under-12-hour notice; manager refused to transfer value to classes or explain the policy.
When I first joined with Fernwood Ferntree gully 06/07/2023 I paid for Personal training sessions. Since July I had booked them in multiple times with a PT there.
I got one session and then every time after that the PT cancelled my sessions without 12 hrs notice. Sometimes it would be only an hour before my session. This was happening right up until November till I needed to go overseas, I than rebooked sessions after my overseas and to no surprise the PT cancelled them again. Then over Christmas I didn't have anytime to reschedule, I then rebooked them in the new year as I didn't want to loose my money I had paid.
Prior to me rebooking I asked to speak to the manager to see if I could transfer the dollar value across to some classes, the manager was not very open to helping me and refused to even contemplate the idea or go higher to see if anything could to be done. Today I had something unexpected come up at work and am unable to make my PT session by 5pm, their was no understanding of my circumstances by the gym manger which is quiet disgusting considering the club has mucked me around ever since I joined back in July. She wouldn't let me reschedule because of some 12 hr policy which was never explained to me when I joined, Now I loose money. Yet when it suits the club to cancel on me les than 12 hrs notice that's ok!!
Since I have joined Fernwood I have referred 4 other people what a mistake on my behalf, the treatment of their members is utterly disgusting and I will be taking this further.
I am a bank manger myself and deal with customer service everyday and I know there is always something that can be done for loyal customers.
In the future I would advice you hire managers that have customer service skills and don't just red back polices each time there's an issue. At this point I will be looking forward to my contract ending so I can move away and I will not be referring anymore people to this club.

I definitely agree they should not have penalized you for canceling that first time, but just on the fact you have been canceled on by them. The only thing I call bs on is you trying to portray yourself as a loyal customer.
It’s only been 8 months and you have a one year membership. While any issues may not have reached you as a bank manager, I am certain under your (or any ) bank manager’s leadership an 8-month account holder is not viewed as loyal where something can always be done.
