FWSC is not honoring their guarantee.

Before August 2019 we purchased the Sears Protection Agreement for our Kenmore refrigerator. Shortly thereafter it began to malfunction and we were loosing food. After many visits FWSC (Sears Protection Agreement) has been unable to repair our refrigerator. And so, on October 15 we requested a replacement refrigerator under the agreement for the Kenmore refrigerator. We were informed that replacement authorization #7088 40** **31 had been issued to us. On 23 November 2020 we were informed that we had been awarded $2200 toward a replacement. Since that time the Sears Protection Agreement company has been non-responsive to our communications. We don't know why, but we do know that they are not honoring their agreement for the badly working Kenmore refrigerator.

User's recommendation: Agreement only good for minor problems.

Worse retail experience I have encountered in 40 years.

Company conducted a sham inspection on a covered appliance prior to following it's practice of "cashing-out" and denying that other benefit options are provided by the service contract. During a sham inspection, a Technician determined that a covered appliance could not be repaired by visual inspection - no examination undertaken. Technician told me a specific part was unavailable. When I asked if more than one part could cause the appliance's failure to operate, he said yes. Technician said it is the company's practice to "cash-out" after so many service calls (3 is what I've learned informally). Expressing my dissatisfaction with the inspection, Technician said "I could get the appliance repaired with the cash-out payment from the company" or probably buy a new appliance. Called the customer service area many, many times. Company reps first said it was not shown which part was not available. A few days later, company reps advised that Technician's report indicated that a part different than what he told me was not available. Company reps insisted the cash-out benefit offered (which is the lesser of all benefits provided by the contract) is the only benefit provided despite the written terms of the contract. After 3 months, company refuses to provide writing explanation of its non-repair decision. I've made over 20 calls to the company's customer service area and corporate office, spoken to 2 supervisors, and left a message for 1 claim supervisor. Company 3 months later has not responded to my repeated request for written explanation. Company corporate offices provided telephone number for Consumer Relations, which when dial results in the call being terminated. I've told by representative in the corporate office that my experience has not happened as I've described but that it was just my "judgment".
