The company reported a credit card bal of $400 to midland credit mgmt a bal of $6,121 limit $600

i opened an account with newport news august2000

my credit card limit was $600.i paid the account a bal of $400 owed,i reported my car was stolen,the credit card was suspended,i did not make any more purchases,the account was turned over to a collection agency,for $900 itried to pay off the bal of 400,they would not accept it,another collection credit midland bought the account,& has reported a bal of $6,121 i have never owed newport more than$500 please help me remove this error from my credit,iorder clothes only thanks

I had this to happen to me July 2003 and I am still fighting it as of today Jan. 21, 2010.

I have all copies where I paid my balance OFF. They changed addresses (after I mailed my payment) so my check crossed in the mail. My check cleared the bank before the due date but they still charged me a late fee. I have all my copies of statements and my payments but they continued to charge late fee after late fee after late fee.

It went through 6 collection agencies before Midland finally got it. This has caused my credit score to be lower than it would have and I have had to pay higher interest rates. Over the 7 year period they are showing I owe $433 which I don't and I sure as h*** won't be paying. I am about to talk to a lawyer about it and sue for damages.

I have never sued anyone before and have never thought about it but with all my copies of everything from my cleared check copy and my bank statement showing which date my check cleared the bank I know I will win the case. These *** need to be held accountable.

SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME AND NOW I'M TRYING TO FIGHT THE BEST WAY I CAN. I HAD A CARD LIMIT OF $250, LOST MY JOB & ASKED TO CLOSE THE ACCT SO I COULD PAY IT OFF.

IN THE MEANTIME, THEY CONTINUED CHARGING LATE FEES & INTEREST & MIDLAND BUYS THE ACCT AND TELLS ME I OWE $1500.

I AM REFUSING TO PAY SO NOW THEY ARE TRYING TO GARNISH MY WAGES. I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW THEY ARE ALLOWED TO INFLATE YOUR BILLS AND TRY TO COLLECT ON THESE TIME BARRED ACCOUNTS, AND EVEN WHEN YOU PAY, IT'S NOT GOOD ENOUGH, THEY ALWAYS WANT MORE!

www.budhibbs.com as one of the FDCPA violators. This is a consumer advocate website that Collection Agencies do not want you to know about because they expose all the illegal dirty tricks they use to collect - many times as this one - Money you do not owe.

FCNB-Spegiel account

I always pay my charge card online and sometimes the website is "unavailable". Happened today, all day long and payment is due today.

I had to used the automated phone call which charges an extra $14.95! There is no phone# for customer service. I finally got a phone number at the end of the automated payment option and when I tried to call it, the number didn't go through. Said it was an invalid number.

This is a disgusting treatment of customers who are still paying on these old accounts.

We should have access to real customer service.

I trying to make a payment that is currently do but there is no automated number I can call and the website is giving me problems accessing my account. Do anyone have any advice to help me with this dilemma?

I have been fighting with this company since July 2003. I paid my card off and mailed my last payment to the address on the remittance slip.

In the meantime, they changed addresses and even though my check cleared the bank before the due date (and I have all copies) they charged me a late fee. I contacted them but they continued to charge late fee after late fee until they now have a balance of $433 over the last 7 years. It went through 7 collection agencies and I am now fighting with Midland about it.

I am about to hire a lawyer and sue the H*** out of them. After 7 years I am sick of it
