DO NOT TRUST FB!!!!

My Husband passed away in February and since his passing they have raised my rates 2 times and have even told me that They didn't carry liability for my Husbands Truck other than acts of nature so that it would force me to keep full coverage on a 2002 truck that has over 100,000 miles. So 2 times now rates have gone up for me to the tune of over $400.00 a year even though it's only me now and not both of us.

We have been with Farm Bureau for 40 plus years and there were no problems all that time until he passed from Cancer. After FB raised my rates the first time I was given the price of insurance for the upcoming amounts and each month before it was here the rates kept increasing. It was absolutely NUTS!! Then a few days ago they increased it again over 20 extra dollars a month and didn't keep they're own agreement to take out a certain amount for the next few months.

Then to keep the expense down I am having to take many coverages off that we've had all along together since we've been married. They are screwing me royally after being with them all these years! This is a case clearly of taking advantage of a widow. They are bound and determined to try and recover some of what they were getting when my Husband was alive or other wise I'm just forced to take good coverages off.

If your alone this is a compant to AVOID like the Plague!!

I am going to the insurance com. to show them what Farm bureau is doing.

Investment scam

My mom passed away so I provided FB with the life insurance policies numbers. They claimed the numbers were wrong, gave us fake numbers and had us file the forms.

Then they were able to claim we put the wrong policy numbers on the forms and make us start over. Then they send a letter that my brother died and wanted more forms filled out, but he wasn't really dead, just pure incompetence on their part. Then they put my benefit into one of their own checking account investments at 0.0075 percent interest compounded daily. I get the first statement and they only paid out 0.00075 percent compounded monthly.

It was over $12,000 they stole from my account within the 1st 2 weeks I had the account.

I go to the Iowa Insurance Division website to file a complaint and they have already been disciplined by the state of Iowa for lying about their investment rates. This isn't poor management or a simple mistake, this is straight up fraud and someone should go to jail.

Homeowners claim roof

Farm Bureau looked at a roof on a rental property that had a wind sheer. They would only patch the roof in many places with their selected handyman. They did so and it leaked again. They did pay for the damage and again said they would only patch it with the same person. He was not licensed to my knowledge for roofing. The roof then leaked and in their own report, it said there was over 60,000 worth of damages. They then got another inspector to say he saw no damage and it was 150 dollars to repair.

This took place over a 8 month period as it took them this long to get someone out to look at the damages.

This is unlike anything Farm Bureau has done before, but if it is their new trend, then I would not go to them for insurance.

Will not recommend again.

Poor Service, Unclear answers

I purchased some policies that I now realize include

arbitrary rules that no one can explain or corroborate with a state law, I just get told that the rules are "approved" by the insurance institute and I need to know if the portion of the policy in question is required. I get no help from the agent other than the canned speech from the underwriter, It is making me feel really uneasy about what I purchased.

I can not recommend Farm Bureau at all.

I am looking into going back to the company that I had for years before without dilemmas like this. They are hiding something.
