FRAUD AT ITS FINEST. North Muskegon Family Fitness.

They forged our signature on a contract and then deny even though we have physical proof. They have bullied and threatened us to continue paying monthly and some big cancellation fee along with many other fees they don't tell you about. The corporate is some of the rudest and unprofessional staff (Ashley) I have ever talked to. After getting nowhere with them I contacted there boss Terri Nicefield Compliance Manager, Board Secretary Family Fitness Michigan customercare@***.com We got nowhere.

She thinks she is above doing her job. Send your complaints to her. Maybe you will get somewhere. They know you can't do anything unless you hire a lawyer so they will just threaten you until pay.

The two months we been dealing with this they kept stealing money out of our account. We had to cancel our bank account and open a new one because they wouldn't stop stealing our money. I've contacted a few local news stations and they are considering starting an investigation.

Apparently many people have submitted complaints, so we are giving them our documentation. If you have similar issues don't let them bully you.

They take advantage of people that are on disability. ...they pressure u into a membership, and when u go to cancel u cant cause u cant find where to go.......they prey upon women...i DO NOT RECOMMEND this place to anybody.... i had 2 knee surgeries and told them they said we gonna take u money every week but u can come back when you are able , well im not able never will b able....and im over my money being taken for something that i cant do....the week after they suckered .e in....they did a promotion 10.00 not 25.00 and you dont have to be a member...the one in sparta mi since the lil button doesnt work......if i dont get a response and payments dont stop.....i will go to next step.....and it wont be good.....i cant walk without a cane.....because of my knee and back and neck are bad too....somebody from this place really needs to contact me....asap...yall have a good day....i will be waiting....today is monday feb 6 th 2017....you have 1 week....they also pressured me every day until i came in there with phone calls emails te,ts all because i went on web site.....really.......im OV......

After trying for weeks to call and get thru to the corporate office with no luck i receive a letter from an attorney stating im being turned over to collections. That was 6-8 months ago.

I still cannot get thru to corporate, and have not heard a thing back from this attorney..... im being charged with late fees.......im pissed!

I win a drawing at berlin racway for a free month with family fitness and a free 2 day 1 night pass at any hotel.. i go to family fitness and sign up for what i thought was a free month trial..

i get a phone call 3 months later .. (on my honeymoon.. just what i need is stress) telling me im 3 months beind on payments and they are now sending me over to 3rd party collections..

what a scam. Now i have to pay god knows how much for a place I havent been since the day i went there to sign up..

I joined family fitness center in March of 2015 and signed up for a year long membership which was done in March of 2016. I called to make sure I wouldn't get charged anymore and was told it was all taken care of.

I still got charged after that. I called again and was told another number to call which I did. I was then directed to email them which I did. I received no response to my email and I am still being charged.

I just sent another email today.

They are unprofessional and seem to ignore requests to cancel so that they can continue to charge you. I don't know what more to do and I am sick of their shady business practices.

Family fitness bought out back to fitness in holland. Cancelled my membership from back to fitness but few months later i get charged from family fitness.

I tried to get my money back but they are not refunding cause i didnt reply to an email on time confirming that im cancelling my contract. First of all no one told me i was getting a email so i never checked.

I call them back and they said they can't do anything about it. Bs

I win a FREE membership after seeing that they was taking money from my bank account after being told that i would pay cash and they could one use my debt card the one time. So i tried to talk to some one and they gave me an email address, not even a phone number to call and talk to a human.

I email them and request to stop my FREE membership because it was not free as i thought.

Now they refuse to cancel and continue to take money off my debt card that i clearly told them only to use the one time to pay for what i was told a one time fee. How can i so them???

From my understanding, the facility emails you over all information about your membership. I myself receive receipts, class schedules, any updates as well as invoices to my card I have on file.

You also have a copy of all your club rules and how much your monthly payment would be.

You even sign it yourself saying you know its being charged and you sign your liability waiver with it too. Assuming your sign up process was similar to mine, you should have known without a doubt that you would have at least some sort of fee upon receiving your automated email..don't bash good people for foolish misreadings, this gym has changed drastically since I first became a member and their improvement shows

Contract issue- will not cancel membership

I feel this company practices unfair and deceptive advertising. I signed up for a month to month fitness membership that could be canceled at any time.

they don't tell you that you have to send a certified letter to cancel. I've been attempting to cancel my membership for 2 months now and they continue to bill me for services that are not used. I've offered to physically come into the location to cancel the membership and provide any required documentation. Unfortunately I could not mail a letter as I had recently closed my account that they debited.

They provided no instruction on how to update my account and will not cancel my membership. the sad part is that I was somewhat satisfied with the membership and their poor business practices have left a very sour taste.

As a smaller company you would think they would practice good customer service to win local support and business. I will find every review/complaint forum I can find and tell everyone about my experience.

Emailed to cancel which they do not honor, and unfortunately, i travel and work long hours for my job. Which i cannot just go up to the gym as please#

Over billing and Contract dispute

We signed a 1 year 52 week, contract for personal training with payments every 2 weeks. If you have a calculator that is a total of 26 payments.

We have now paid 29 payments and they are refusing to refund us our money and refusing to take our calls. They also say that they have us down for a "courtesy auto renewal". We have notified them not to auto renew us, which is supposed to happen in 2 days, but they can not even say if they have canceled that because, per the manager in customer service at their headquarters, gym staff are not trained to answer questions about the contract, but they are allowed to have you sign the initial contract. Per the customer service manager's description of the contract: they auto renewal as a courtesy, you must give 30 days written notice that you do not want the auto renewal and they have 60 days to approve.

If they auto renewal before the 60 time frame you are then locked in for another year. There are so many loop holes that the customer has to jump through and "qualifications" that you must meet to end the contract, it is impossible to get out of the contract. Even when you think your going to be done because you have lived up to paying (and in our case over paying) for a one year contract that you signed. The manager at their headquarters was completely unprofessional.

He yelled and continued to talk so that myself and my spouse could not get a word in. He then undermined and spoke down to us and went as far as to give us the definition of a contract. When we waited for him to stop talking he started to talk once we began to say something he didn't like.

This company is a fraud! The actual trainers are good...but that doesn't do you any good when your bank account is being depleted and you are no longer wanting the services.

My name is Brooke. I am the corporate office manager at FamilyFitness.

All of our agreements have the automatic renewal option. If the member selects this option, and the original term has ended, and has started the renewal, we must be given 60 days notice to cancel the membership.

All of this information is included on the agreement in the renewal term area.

Miss Billie Abbott

Hello my name is Billie Abbott and I came into your fitness center March 26 , 2013 and talked with a young lady by the name of Shiiynn Vaness she walked me through the process of getting a membership at which time I did fill out the agreement . After I left the gym I received a call from my doctor telling me I would be having hip surgery and I was informed that I should not be doing anything to make the problem worse than it already was and is .

At this time I called back up to the fitness center spoke to a young man named parker and also another young lady telling them that I would not be able to come to the gym I was told that I could not get out of the contract however there is a three day claws that allowed me to cancel. At this point I'm trying to keep a level head about the response I have been getting however it is just bad business on the end of the workers I have spoken to I also called Affiliated Acceptance Corporation a second time and I was helped and talked to with respect unlike when I called back up there the very same day and even the days after . I would like to speak with Jason whom I'm told is the Supervisor my number is (616) 827-**** and I will be calling the better business bureau concerning the way I was talked to as I was being responsible and honest about everything up front my account has been withdrawn twice in the Amount of thirty dollars and I'm asking for my money back please I have never even came inside the fitness center other than the two times I came one to do the agreement and the second time to cancel thank you very much God bless you and I look forward to speaking with someone very soon about this issues .

I'm told that the manager is not in every time I call and given a bogus email address so I'm unable to get in contact with anyone .
