Original review updated Feb 15, 2025
A dry dock is a big expense and potentially a huge loss, at least for me I did all the research I could, but couldn't find a single review, but went ahead with the purchase anyway dealing with Dean Howard, the President of Fab Dock I was so excited after talking with Dean, that I was planning to become his distributor for the Caribbean I remember discussing a list of my concerns - hurricanes and propellers getting caught among other things He said they hold up great in hurricanes and never had a customer with prop damage He installed my new Fab Dock in April of 2017 and I never even got to use it once. It's now a total loss.
The first part of my nightmare happened when I had to adjust the shift cable before I could go out for the first time I opened the door and put the boat in forward and reverse for one second each, but the propeller immediately caught the Fab Dock and wrapped up tight I Immediately contacted Dean, explaining that the air chamber still had air, but the valve was all the way open.

I felt that the door wasn't going down properly because of this issue. He said to cut the propeller free, which took me several hours with snorkel gear I had to have my boat hauled out of the water and put on blocks. After a month, my bill at the marina was over S1.900 and climbing! My Fab Dock was getting destroyed by having sea water inside, so the clock was ticking in addition to the marina bill.
Dean said he would come out to repair it and not to worry, but first.

He said I needed to put a temporary patch on the Fab Dock to pump out the water, as that was the only way to get it out for repair. This time I brought my scuba gear The first day was a failure and I had to go get different clamps The next time I was able to stop the leak enough to pump it out (after about two hours under water) Six weeks later, no one had come to fix it and the barnacles were taking hold on the inside Dean then decided to inform me that he wouldn't be covering the repair under warranty He said the air in the chamber wasn't the cause and blamed it on me Im not sure how shifting into forward and reverse is any different then entering and exiting?
I contacted a company that repairs inflatables and they couldn't come out before I left town for a month, so I had to attempt to do the repair myself. After considerable research and buying the tools and supplies, I did the repair I pulled the back end of the Fab Dock up onto the dock for repair. It was already so heavy due to barnacles and algae that it took four men an hour just to lift it up.

I fully cleaned the material and installed about 20 patches When I put it back in the water. I almost cried when it leaked. Some of the patches didn't hold due to the marine growth and the affected area (prop pocket) wasn't flat, making patching almost impossible A month later.

I called the inflatable repair guy again, but he was booked and couldnt come out until September Unfortunately hurricane Maria interrupted that visit and now my Fab Dock has even more serious damage My boat was on the trailer during the hurricane, but the Fab Dock suffered serious damage The rope rings ripped off and the right side tube filled with water. I haven't been able to get anyone to repair it and now it's been so many months that barnacles have covered it inside and out The other boats on lifts at the marina were undamaged.
My next problem was getting it out of my slip due to being full of water, to take it to the dumpster.

There has been no response from the company to fix my Fab Dock. That has been the problem from the beginning they don’t have anybody to service the product.

Original review Sep 02, 2023
The product does not perform the way the owner of the company says it does theres nobody that can service this product once its installed and you need service. Nobody is here to help you in America.

Dean, the owner of the company never responds back to you. He is all BS.

Hi Jeff Bonifacio. As per usual, it isn't great to hear from you again.

All I ever receive from you is poorly written, misspelled foul-mouthed texts. But let me just summarise the last two times that I came to visit you, for those readers wondering what all the fuss is about. The first time I drove 12 hours out of my way and spent a few hours cleaning a couple of electrical connectors and giving your FAB Dock a quick clean for you. Both of these things you could have done yourself as part of a normal maintenance program.

I didn't charge you one cent. The second time was a twenty hour round trip and half a day to give your FAB Dock a full service and electrical update. And all I charged you was for the parts, at a discounted rate. You have never paid this account.

I did all this against a backdrop of veiled blackmail that if I didn’t, you were going to write bad reviews all over social media. Yet, here we are. Through no-ones fault but your own, you have now damaged your FAB Dock. You couldn’t wait five minutes and check it was all the way down before you lowered your outboard, placed it in reverse and backed out?

You have owned it for many years. I don’t know what to say. And your strategy to entice me to travel all the way to your place again to fix the damage that you have caused to your FAB Dock is to send me a tirade of text messages so full of profanity that it took me three or four reads to decipher what you were actually trying to say. Our company philosophy is to not deal with people who don't treat our staff with respect and certainly not with people who don't pay their last bill.

So as much as we try our best to always attain excellent reviews, I will not continue to bow to blackmail and will gladly live with your poor reviews in the knowledge that I will never have to deal with you ever again. Like many businesses, I wish that there was a review system for customers so that I could warn other companies that might be enticed to deal with you. You are such a ‘’difficult’’ customer to deal with that it is impossible for me to send any of my US based service personnel to your house. It is difficult enough to find and train good people and I don’t want to risk losing them because of a bad customer experience.

So thanks for the hundreds of text messages today, they have been mildly amusing and it is just a shame that I couldn't share your words of wisdom with all our readers as they wouldn't pass online censorship rules. If you had only spent a fraction of the time it took you to send all those texts and social media reviews and actually Googled “inflatable boat repairs” you would have found a list of companies in Delaware, and one of the best in the whole country just north of where you live, who could all have fixed your damage quite easily. This situation would be like me running my Ford Ranger into a tree here in Australia and giving Ford a bad review because they wouldn’t send a technician from Detroit to fix my car. I mean, if you really want to see me that badly, I will fly half way around the world for two days there and two days back, to spend an hour repairing your damage, but as you didn’t pay your last bill for a few hundred dollars, I don’t like my chances of getting nearly 10k out of you to cover the airfares.

You are obviously a deeply troubled person and should seek professional counselling.

You appear to have lots of energy and passion for negative things in your life so if you could find a way to turn that into positive energy you could really turn your life around and have a positive effect on those around you. Anyway, I hope that you find whatever you are looking for in life and I am definitely looking forward to never having to drive to Dagsboro ever again.

Just to put it simple great concept, poor quality product good luck if you get anymore than 4 years before perishing. See a lot of second hand fabdocks on the market look for the perishing (all are the same) Scrupulous owners trying to get rid of their fabdocks back up from the company is atrocious. The go through so many employees who are sick of the lies they are forced to tell customers but it all comes out eventually.

Pay the extra and get something decent that will last.

Damaged Product and Customer Service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I found this company on Youtube as I was in the market for a product where I could dry dock my new boat. The community I live in does not permit traditional boat lifts.

So after much searching, we thought we found our solution with Fab Dock. I believe the idea behind fab dock is good. A drive into inflatable dry-docking system that would pump the water away from the boat all while sitting in the water. What a concept!

My problem began not long after it was installed, which was early May 2021, however, soon found out that the dock was too big for my boat and had consequently incurred damage.

This happened in late May 2021.

They had told me that the dock was too big, though I had given them the make and model of my boat. Well, After countless calls with my sales/installer Jeremy and the Owner himself, Dean Howard. I thought things would be okay. All I got was lip service and lame excuses.

I am here to let the world know that they left me high and not so dry.

I hate having to write a review much less a complaint about someone or their product, however, need to share with would-be buyers to be careful. Be very careful! Their service sucks, virtually non-existent!

They are not based here in the US which would make it very difficult to sue.

At a price of $13,000 they get a 2-thumbs down! If there was a star rating less than 1 They'd get it!

I paid $13,000 for a floating swimming pool and
