Not a good place to go for repairs
I took my car to express transmission in Stockton for P0700 and P0776 error codes. It could go forward but back forward.
What follows is a list of changes to get it repaired. Removing trans from car $409.50 Putting trans on the bench and looking at it $386.40 Repair of trans $735.00 Putting trans back in the car $409.50 Flush transmission cooler $105.00 Sublet labor to re flash $155.00 Road test car $105.00 Noticed one part was replaced with a used part, the Reaction Planet (not sure if this part was Pick n pull are reusing the part that came out of the trans) $121.92 In the beginning I was told that one of transmission was mounts was broken and would place at no cost.
$43.58 later this turned out to be not true. If you want your transmission repaired at this place, make sure and bring lots of money.

Express Transmission Car Repair Review
They just rebuilt both of our vehicles transmissions for our company and honestly I can say they do a great job, plus its an outstanding customer service and an unbeatable price for the warranty they offer.
BAD REBUILT
Express Transmission rebuilt my transmission in my 2006 Chevy Express 3500 on Dec 11 2012 they gave me a 12 month or 12000 warranty whichever comes first. After 3 months of it having it rebuilt I notice my rear transmission seal was leaking transmission fluid, I brought it back to them they fix it.
After May and 7695 miles later it was not shifting into 3 rd gear and hesitating in other gears I brought it back to them and the mechanic notice there was metal shaving in the pan. They told me they would have to rebuild it again at no charge and I would have it back in two days. I ask mechanic who worked on it was it fixed right and would I have anymore problems and he gave me his word that it was fixed and I would have no more problems. I asked the mechanic does the warranty start from the second time it was rebuilt or does it start from December when I first had it done, he said in December.
It is now September 4 months later and 6371 after second rebuilt of the transmission it’s having the same problems again.
Now that my warranty is over with, I was 3 months short of the 12 months and 2000 miles over the 12000 miles of the first rebuilt. What gets me is they were referred to me from a friend, also my brother recommend them and the mechanic gave me his word that was fixed and now I am going to have it rebuilt again from another transmission shop.
Express Transmissions Stockton, CA -DON'T
This guy offers to tow your car in for free, diagnose the problem, and give you an estimate.
So they tow my car into their facility. I come in the end of the day to get my estimate.
The guy says to me "Your car won't move forward or back". Geez Sherlock, why do you think you towed it in? Tell me something I don't know.
"Well", he says, "We won't know what's wrong until we remove your transmission so we can diagnose it. For that we charge 1255.00 dollars even if we do not fix it." "If we perform the repair, it will run 1848.00 plus parts and tax."
So I'm thinking... I'm in the wrong business. Every customer that comes into this guys shop can expect to pay 2600.00 dollars or more even if the problem is almost nothing... What if it's just a loose screw? Only 1848.00 plus tax? Not likely. Most of us know almost nothing about transmissions... It's the great black hole of auto repair... How are we to know they replaced what they say? They can and most likely will charge you hundreds of dollars for parts you did not even get. If he was really honest he would offer to pull the transmission and have you down to see what they find wrong with it. At these kinds of prices, people deserve to know they are being treated fairly.
This is not the way to treat customers. Once you agree to pay them their charges to diagnose the problem, you are pretty much stuck having to deal with them, because you are already deep in debt to him if he doesn't solve your problem. Nothing I saw on his tour of his shop said to me they were good at fixing transmissions. What I saw was a mess and a bunch of old used parts hanging on the walls.
I don't know who to trust in this game, but this guy is definitely not the guy. He made it clear to me that his only interest was getting my car to his shop so he could nail me for more money than my entire car was worth. He mislead me into getting my car into his possession knowing that he had no intention of providing me with the diagnosis he talked about until I paid him 1255 dollars. That's nothing like what he told me on the phone.
Most other mechanics I spoke with quoted 5 hours labor to remove and replace my transmission, "that's what the book says" they told me. So Express Transmissions wanted 251.00 dollars per hour based on his quote to me just to tell me what was wrong with my transmission. The dealer doesn't charge that much.
Do some research, look for reviews... He has far more negative than positive reviews.
