Still receiving bill

I am disabled and rely on my Internet for several situations. I had an Art Group on FB,, got wiped out by a hacker.

The modem I was given came from the back of a van, laying on the floor,, with a foot print on it. I have had nothing but trouble with this Company,,if you can even call them a company. They have lied over and over to me. I finally got a Supervisor out of Head Quarters in CA that approved a new modem for me.

The tech arrives,,doesn't give a name,,says he has to check some equipment outside, and simply got in his truck and drove off. I have never heard of anything like this before. OUTRAGIOUS and A Horrible Company to do business with.

$170.00 a month just for Internet Service and this is the kind of help I get. Absolutly NONE!

The worst possible experience and experiences I have every been attributed to. Viasat is by far the worst internet company I've ever seen. The billing process is a joke. The notes that are taken for follow up research is slim to none. The call center people are ill equipped to rightfully solve real problems that happen daily. Not to mention that your dealing with individuals from other countries that cannot fathom the situations they are dealing with.

The worst ever. Every two minutes your computer is locked after you are past your "allowable limit" of data even though the contract states that your data will be throttled down, they continue to redirect you to their website.

Horrible service

The service installer was great EXCEPT that we were lied to. We currently pay $175 per month for business service. We were told that it would "bump" us up as preferred over household service. NOT SO. Our "unthrottled" streaming amount is 75GB. An average household uses 150 or more per month. We would be more due to not having any other services. No we have no ability to stream anytime after 5am. How is this better? Gonna do everything I can to get out of this contract.! EVERYTHING. They wouldn't even let us sign the contract due to covid, they just sent it to us. Hopefully this works.

I was extorted by Viasat installer and made me write a check to his name instead of Viasat to install the satellite to a wrong location, then try to have them fix and can’t get a technician to come back. 2 no shows. In addition, he showed me 100mbp speed where in reality it is less than 35 next to the router. He faked a speed test to show that it was working where in reality it wasn’t. I want to sue them and I agree that if we get a good number of people we have a strong case. Please contact me at mariejjs@***.com with your issue.

I have had a few issues since we started with ViaSat in February. I have always been pretty patient and try to remain calm.

I work from home and when I was signing up I completely explained that I need pretty reliable service. I was told that outages only happen with really bad weather. So month one, we have snow and wind and no internet. A week goes by...no internet.

I keep calling and getting the same answer...weather!! Finally a tech comes out and readjust my dish and left. The next month we have some winds and rain, like normal weather but guess what!! No Internet, after 9 days no internet I call again and finally get a service tech to come out and they go up and then come back down and tell me that I have a broken part and this part is backordered because they have to replace so many...I am now at day 10 of no internet and the next day after I call the service tech to see if he go his order in he comes back out and fixes the next day.

Internet still slowish however after the great 11 days of no internet anything was better than nothing. After month 4 I get an email saying that they had found a problem with my account and that I was not receiving the correct service (I was connected to their "new" satellite and there was a bug in the system or something) so they gave me a month credit. That was nice and all, however if the trees around my house drip dew or if a bird flys to close I have no service (this is my guess since my sister next door has satellite internet with a different company and has no problems). Then this month I go over my allowance on Friday 8/17/18 because my son came over and played a game or something, I know this because my download speeds where terrible but I decide to wait it out since 8/20 is my renew day.

Friday ...download speeds 0.26 and upload speeds 3.02 , I check a few times Sat and Sun and always about the same. So today...8/20 they take out $116 from my account, my data is reset to 0 and this morning I log in and guess what slow as Friday!! I do a speed test (this is 8:02am) and download speed was 0.26Mbps , I check through out the day do the unplugging and resetting as I am told to do and finally at 5:00pm I have had enough and I call in and get a customer service rep that tells me he can't understand me! I am from VA so yes I have a little bit of an accent...his accent is worse than mine not sure middle eastern or something however I am the one calling in for help so my call is not starting off on a great note.

I then proceed to tell him my problems and he has me reboot, reset all of the things I have already done but to be nice I follow his directions. Still 0.26 download speed. He then tells me he is checking and it looks like network congestion and I should just try again later!!! What!!!

What am I paying for??? I tell him I want a refund for the days I haven't been able to use my internet and he tells me he can't do that, I then tell him I want what I am paying for...internet service, he once again repeats the network congestion line and I ask to speak to a manager, he keeps telling me that since my modem is working correctly it is just the network congestion (like telling me this over and over is going to make me understand). I ask to speak to a manager at least 10 times and he puts me on hold and gets someone else to talk to me. I explain to the "manager" that I don't think it is fair that I am paying for a service I am not receiving and he then reads me the part of the contract that's says "internet speeds UP TO 25Mbps so I am not guaranteed those speeds" I then tell him that .26Mbps is like having two hamsters running on a wheel!!

I am paying for internet and I expect to have internet.

He then tells me the "network congestion" line and I then freak out....I tell him that it is fraud to sell something that they obviously cannot provide and if I was told that I would only have internet 10-20days out of a month I definitely would not have signed up!! Tomorrow I will be calling back.

How we are getting ripped off

Ok here how they work. Exceed/viasat/wild blue the same company false represent their services in their new plans. Unlimited 50 gold for instance, up to 50mbps download speed up to 5mbps upload unlimited use with 100gb priority data. When you speak to them they tell you that the speed goes down a bit when there is network congestion. This sounds wonderful!!! Think again!!! Depending how many people are utilizing their network on the same beam your speed can become unusable with speeds that can go down to 0.00mbps. 0.00mbps means no speed or no data. They throttle your speed back utilizing a equation. The more customers who have priority data and even the ones who do not based on the amount of customers using the internet cuts your speed back if you are under your priority data. It can cut it back as far as to 0mbps!!!! Now sometimes you may also experience slow speed even when you are within your priority data because their equipment has to load balance the bandwidth. These cases when you are not in dap “data access policy” meaning that you are supposed to be receiving priority data customer services which is just an outsourced call center has to call corporate to temporarily increase your speeds. Also to add to the horriable speed issue, if you have phone service qos “quality of service” prioritizes your data at the modem which slows your speeds down more so your phone maybe able to receive a call because of the slow speeds. To sum things up their network speeds are great when they are not being throttled or slowed. They could theoretically run up past 1gbps. They sell too many accounts and over populate the network and causes the equipment to load balance. The problem is Customer turn over, high priced internet service that has limits and makes it unusable so they take as many customers as they can so the ones who leave quickly are replaced quickly. Also they take your payment method before hand and have no grace period. If they did they would t make any money unless they expand their network to accommodate a large customer load. That’s less money in their pockets because of how much it costs to put a satellite in space.

I am very grateful that you provided the truth about these *** *** like them should be arrested in public and part of their sentence should be to refund all victims many times the amount of the price paid for such a service provided. Can I say more?

What more can I say, other than agreeing with the accurate opinion given by a person who trusted such *** Shame on the TV networks who accept payment to advertise such a service provided by such *** I hope very dearly that a Class Action does develop in the near future. GOOD LUCK...
