Resolved: $14,000 and not worth the chaos

Updated by user Nov 01, 2019

Everyday reimbursed us $1,000 and replaced the broken parts. I’m hoping we that we are done with having them into my home.

Original review Oct 02, 2019

My husband and I spent $14,000 waterproofing our basement one year ago. The initial work was done by a crew of men that defecated in our basement toilet with the water turned off, and left it there.

They left tons of cigarette butts up and down the back steps. They threw their monster drinks under the deck steps. They urinated in my back yard by my garage. They damaged SEVERAL things, including a television.

6 months ago we noticed another leak where they had done work previously. The gentlemen that came out were clean and polite. They did their work and then told me that they didn't have the tools they needed to put our washer and stationary tub back together. Not only did they not have the tools but later on when my husband and I attempted to put it back together, the pipes were broken, and a plumber said that we should purchase a new stationary tub because someone stripped the threads.

For 3 weeks we have had to take our laundry to the laundry mat. $45 a trip. They are supposed to come out this week to fix it, but I'm highly skeptical. Plus all of the days that I need to take off work for them to come fix their mistakes is taking a toll.

If I could ask for a refund I would! Super disappointed.

Poor Job don't do it

I paid $18500 to water proof my house, the crew worked for 3 days and didn't and left a mess in my house, the pavers were taken off and they said they can't put them back like they were. now i can't put them back my self because they installed pipes high enough which means if even i put the pavers back my self they won't be even that's because they didn't make any sense at their work, Needless to mention that they killed my grass and patch it poorly that i can see the pipes sticking out.

My house looks like Shii..

sorry for the word, and none care of course they got the money. I will make sure to spread this all over internet.

Located in central Indiana.Have the same issue.Used the strong arm sales tactics on me as well.Stayed for over 5 hours and didn't leave till 10pm trying to get me to sign the agreement for $22,000.When I wouldn't agree he finally left saying that he would send his boss down to talk to me.That salesperson came and spent another 4 to 6 hours using the strong arm version. We needed something done and got them down to $17,500.Ever since we got this done have had nothing but trouble from the pumps not working, leaking, cracks, float switches sticking. Can't get anyone to come out for days all the while the pump float won't shut off and the pump is screaming/smoking.I called the company and got a DB women on the phone telling me that she can't get anyone here for 6 more days.Got people on vacations and others else where. When I told her that I can't babysit the pump,I have to work, that it was either going to throw the breaker and flood the basement or burn up and burn my house down. She smart/rudely told me to unplug it.Or get a plumber to come out and fix it and they will remberst me $200.You know that if I done that it would break the warranty and they wouldn't have to cover anything. And she would have said that she didn't tell me that. When they was here doing the job 90 to 96% of them couldn't even speak any english. We heard that after TRUMP got into office, ICE had went up there and most of the labor employees vanished.Does anyone know of a class action lawsuit against them or a lawyer that can get our money back. The words in there song is BS.They don't stand behind anything and I can prove that.

I agree 100% with what you said, everdry is a big theif. Before you start the lawsuit make you publish all this on social media, also make sure to advise all of your friends and followers on social media not buy their products, in homedepot, lowes..

etc.

For any product that you about to purchase make sure to verify the name on the tag if its says everdry dont buy it. I'm hiring a lawyer soon

This is the company that calls its self number one in the states, check out the video and you will see the mess they left me in the house. I have paid more than $18000 for this poor job and nothing is completed.

My house looks like an abandand place and all i keep asking is what i paid for.

This company is by far the worst i ever dealt with. They didn't honor a single promise meanwhile my house is still in a bad shape

well this company left me a lot to clean up, why is there harden spray foam everywhere?? and harden sealer on cracks looks as if young kids did it how are you going to paint over that? no way to leave someones home and cost should be lower if home owner has this much work left to finish

Chelcee Frk

we had this done in1990 and they have been here over 15 times about leaking and wall damage. will not take respondsibility for any damage.

this company has been a nightmare. BEWARE!

my husband even had to go out and buy sumisible pumps because of so much leaking. every time it rains, its nothing but a worry.

Conned me into thinking I neded their waterproofing. Runied my home.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

My wife and I were walking through the mall and their high pressure salesman came over and talked to us and convinced us to let them come out and do a free inspection. Besides we had nothing to lose by having a free inspection...

They showed up and said we had too much moisture in the basement, which was finished. We agreed to let them repair the problem and they sent out someone to give us an estimate. That representative tried to tell us we needed major work done which was clearly different from the inspector. We agreed to over 10k worth of work that would incluse resealing the outside and inside foundation.

They came out and did the work and then gave us a bill for the warranty. It cost money to maintain their warranty that they claim they provide with their product. The cost is $75.00 per year. We felt like this was a very sneaky tactic or illegal and told them at that time we expected the warranty to be included in the price. They were to dig down to the footer and remastic the entire foundation, put in a drain tile system in the front and sides of the house also install an interior drain system in the basement floor.

After two and a half years we have MOLD EVERYWHERE IN THE BASEMENT! Upon inspecting the mold we found it all over the furniture, TV,Carpet and bookcases. We immediately shut off the air-conditioning and sealed the vents and basement from the rest of the house to try to prevent the mold from spreading. The drywall near the floor was falling apart and I could push my finger right through it!

After pulling back the drywall we found the obvious problem. Everdry workers broke out my floor to install their inside drain system. When the repaired the floor the concrete they failed to cover their water drain system. As a result the moisture from their water drain traveled up the inside of our hous walls and has molded and mildewed all the drywall on the backside of it.

When removed the carpet and TV backing were all covered in white and black mold like an old piece of bread. We called them to come out and see the damage to be told they would only cover the concrete repair. Nothing to do with the damage to the house or drywall. They said they would come back in 2 weeks to do the work correctly this time.

The inspector pointed out several mistakes like the moisture barrier did not attach to the wall or come up it far enough to seal at all. This was done around our entire basement using the same wrong technique. Yesterday 10/17/17 they called to confirm the appointment for today. Today is the 18th and they did not show up to do the repairs.

When I called to see why they did not show up Amanda told me someone above her canceled our appointment. The person above hers name is Ken Barham. She went on to tell me they called after confirming the appointment yesterday to tell us if we didn't pay up the warranty charge they would not come out to do the work correctly. I checked the answering service and found no messages also I wa home sick yesterday and did not see the call come through.

Lies Deceit and Lies is what we have got from this company in exchange for an over 10k loan at high interest in hard earned money. On top of that the payment we received is higher by 20% than what we even agreed to! I let her know the work was never done correctly the first time and this issues goes beyond their warranty including furniture and an entire finished basement covered in white mold. My wife and I have missed several days of work and we both are now sick with respiratory and flue like symptoms.

While trying to remove the molded drywall ever-dry refused to take responsibility for I severely cut my forearm on a wall stud requiring 18 stitched and missed work. I have contacted ever-dry and spoke to Amanda who refuses to give me her last name. She told me the only way they will come out is if I pay for their lifelong warranty that is advertised with their business. I would love to sue them for damages and property loss if at all possible.

Right now we are going to pay their warranty today and see what their next move will be... I will tell everyone to Never Trust or Use or Recommend this company or any of its past present or future employees for anything! I will put up a sign in my front yard telling people to never use ever-dry as they have ruined my basement and refuse to take any responsibility for it. Upon finding the work not completed we went out and checked the rest of their work.

They never installed the outside side house drain tile and never dug down to the foundation footers to remastic(seal) the outside. They only dug down around 20" and sealed from that point up leaving our paved stone front porch in a big dirt pile. We never found the pavers they removed and they did not reinstall them. The front of the house and sides were just dirt mounds.

They even piled dirt from the front down the side to make it look like they dug it up. Upon moving the dirt we still has grass and ground cover untouched under the top layer of loose dirt all the way down the side of our house.

Issue has not been resolved. As of 11/17/17 the only communication we have had with everdry is a phone call telling us we need to pay them 160 dollars for their warranty in order for them to come out and complete the job they NEVER finished!

They also said their warranty was for covering the work completed and not for covering additional damages caused by their work.

I have made several requests for the owner and or manager to come out and see the property but have not got any replies. As far as I am concerned they should not be allowed to continue taking advantage of our community through their deceptive business practices.

Just need to know which Everdry you are talking about. There are like 15 throughout the US.

Where are you from?

I live in Milwaukee and see nothing about the one here. And I am now entering more words because they say there is a 50 word minimum on this site.

Waterproofing

I had constant water leakage in my basement. I interviewed several companies to waterproof my basement and decided to go with Everdry and I am so glad I did.

That was 20 years ago and can truthfully say it was the right decision. I have had my sump pump wear out twice over the course of 20 years and each time it was replaced right away with a simple phone call to Everdry It is nice in these time to be able to trust a company like Everdry, who stands behind their service and their warranty. .

I have been very pleased and would recommend them highly. Irma S., Reading, Ohio

So 20 years later, you randomly decide one day, "I'm gonna write a positive review for everdry?"

NEVER FIXED MY BASEMENT AFTER SEVERAL CALLS

We had our basement done about 10 years ago or so, Everydry never fixed the problem, we called them several times and they came out to fix it again and again, finally they put white sheeting up so we couldn't see the leaks. At that time we had no recourse and now we suffer with a still leaking basement.

We spent between around $8,000.00 for nothing. We paid the renewal of $40.00 yearly for several years to keep the warranty in affect. Finally we gave up. What a rip off.

Now you ask why I am now saying something, after all this time, you have the nerve to send two reps within the last 2-3 months to my front door to sell me your *** work again?

maybe you should fix the problem you caused.

Everdry of Cincinnati installed EasyBreathe and parts failed

Everydry refuses to replace the plastic louvers that curled up and fell off of their highly touted EasyBreathe system. I talked to service department today who explained I would have to pay $25 for parts that failed.

This is not right. They are cheap; it probably didn't cost $1 to manufacture. Everydry should go back on the company. They also should "eat" the $25, if that's what it takes.

I paid $17,000 for the basement waterproofing job and got them another customer for $17,000.

This is not good customer relations at all. I am very unhappy with them.

Same thing happened here- they just mailed them out to me free of charge.

You're absolutely right, they should replace those parts for you free of charge.

Have you tried contacting the owner? Hopefully you get yourself some new free louvers!
