***SCAM ARTISTS*** They lure you in with low cost ads and then drop the "Black Mold" scare. This is a level 2 bio-hazard that is very dangerous!

Which equals price hike. Same with carpet cleaning, don't pay extra for stubborn stains, they had no effect on them. There was no change in stains. after they finished.

The only change was in the upcharges. When you call the office to complain, they say, "you signed the agreement" so no refund".

The guy that cleaned the carpet was a hard worker, but the lead guy was the one that runs the scam and pulls the "bait and switch"!

DISHONEST COMPANY!!!

Total scam and they DONT KNOW how to clean sofas

Not good at all. First the price: charged much more than what was advertised.

Second the work itself.

they actually destroyed my sectional sofa. It was a nice and soft sofa but after their "cleaning" it end up useless. Their answer was: "if you knew the sofa was so special why you call us to clean it!"

I thought they were professionals... Total scammers.

They also terrorize you abut mold in the air sistem only to charge you triple. No guaranties at all.

The carpet cleanning is ok, but they dont actually deal with stains or darker spots. Just Basics

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!!

Envirocair - STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!!

My opinion of Envirocair.

A former tenant hired this company to clean an empty house. They had a coupon for carpet cleaning, but when the "tech" arrived, they were given the "bait and switch" treatment.

When I inspected the "work", I found dark spots and dirt on the carpet(spots were not there previously and came-out with a wet paper towel). I called their office twice and was told that the "tech" would return my call. I never heard from the "tech" and was then told that I would hear from a manager; never happened. The "100% Satisfaction Guarantee" on their website and receipt is as worthless as they are!

We used our own carpet cleaner and pulled balls of dust and dirt from the carpet(see attached picture). In my opinion, they only vacuumed (and did a poor job at that)and do not honor their work or warranty!

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!

Technician Charlie comes to our home to clean all vents for the $44 coupon deal that I had. I tried to explain the areas I wanted them to focus on but wasn't able to talk much as Charlie cut me off multiple times.

After multiple attempts to explain to him on what areas to focus on and ask questions that I had, I decided to stop so I wouldn't get angry. The machine used looked like a large vacuum with a circular brush that only made it to the outside and lining of the vent. They started from the top to the bottom of the house. Halfway through, Charlie decides to tell me we have BLACK MOLD in all of our vents and that he had to stop because it was very dangerous while he had his little helper continue.

It confused me on why his helper continued when it was that dangerous. It also confused me on the fact that Charlie was trying to show some concern towards my health and my pregnancy as he started out his visit on cutting me off and ignoring my questions. Charlie also told me the mold had to be chemically treated and that he would provide me with an estimate when he got back to the office. For some reason Charlie decided to clean the last vent himself after his helper finished the majority of the "cleaning" and after verbally debating on continuing work.

They did not fulfill what was said on the ad but I just wanted him to get out my house with the scam he was trying to sell me. I confirmed with an actual Mold Inspector on related scams. I decided to contact Charlie's office to speak to the manager (Ray Allen) who happened to be even worse as he try to defend his worker on being mold inspection certified. All because the company may be mold inspection certified doesn't mean all your workers are.

I told the manager on how the visit and the conversation went between me and Charlie and said he would talk to his tech to confirm the estimate and what he had said regarding the black mold. Ray was surprised Charlie didn't give me an estimate right there and then. The 2nd conversation with Ray was useless as Ray defended his tech who claims Charlie never told me it was BLACK MOLD and I misheard the entire explanation from Charlie. After going back and forth with Ray on what was said, Ray wanted to schedule a 2nd visit from his company to clean out my vents from the mold that was found...I DONT THINK SO!

I was fortunate to not get caught up in their SCAM.

BEWARE! YOU THINK THE TECH WAS BAD, MANAGEMENT IS WORSE!

Rip off didn't even do what I paid for

I purchased a Groupon, they showed up, guy 2 started vacuuming my air ducts, while guy 1 went to my AC return air, called me in, showed me "black mold" told me I was going to have it in my walls within a month, and my health and that of my grand daughter who was visiting, was in jeopardy. He said he would use an organic cleaner and for a bargain price of $600.00 remove the dangerous mold from my vents and air return. After I said no, guy 1 said what guy 2 was doing would do no good, so after vacuuming 4 vents, and cleaning out the dryer vent, they loaded up and left.

All they did was vacuum!

I bought a voucher from Living Social for "$49 ($219 value) for whole-house air duct cleaning for unlimited vents and also includes dryer vent cleaning". Thought it was a great deal. Well, they day of the cleaning a man named Charlie came with another guy and asked me what service was supposed to be provided. I guess I could have said anything at that point. But, I told him and they proceeded to use their hose and vacuum to clean out all the vents. About 10 minutes after they started Charlie asked to speak to me and show me one of the main vents upstairs in my house and he claimed there was and "extreme case of mold" in my house. To me, it looked like a lot of dust...which is why I wanted to have them cleaned. I'm not an expert, so I looked up information on the EPA site and found out that to really find out if mold is present, you must have laboratory testing done. So, I was and still am skeptical of Charlie's claims. He kept bringing up that I shouldn't be breathing this stuff in "my condition" (I'm pregnant) which made it seem like more of a scam. He proceeded to take me in the basement to look at the AC unit, told me to change the filter, and then shut off the main switch to the unit and said that it shouldn't be on until the mold problem was resolved. He claimed the whole system needed to be chemically treated and said he could do it for $438. I told him I didn't want it done today and that I would talk it over with my husband and call back for an appointment.

Bottom line: If they tell you that you have have mold, do your research!! The EPA site is VERY informative:http://www.epa.gov/iaq/pubs/airduct.html#choosing

I will be getting a second opinion about the mold. But overall all this company did was vacuum. I'm glad I didn't give them too much of my money.

OK - no rotating brushes were employed - they merely stuck a shop-vac type hose in the vents they cleaned. No all natural products were used, and they did not clean the vents/ducts on the first floor claiming that they were the same vents as those on the second floor. The manager to whom I talked game me a 20-minute runaround about why. All I wanted was for him to have his people come out and complete the job.

The cleaning tech looked into my HVAC system and told me I needed additional services and tried to sell them to me. They left shortly after I declined the offer.

I originally bought the service because I wanted the vents in my daughter's room cleaned as she has asthma. She lives on the first floor of the house, but the vents in her area were the only ones that were not cleaned.

For the record, when I asked him if he had other complaints, he would not answer. I suspect there are others who have had issues with the ads this company puts out.

Unprofessional company; these people are scam artists

I don't usually bother with complaining, but these people need to be spotlighted as a truly unprofessional company and thieves that they are.

I am new to the area and was in need of carpet cleaning in my rented apt because my roommate had an untrained puppy who urintated on our wall to wall carpet numerous times. I received a coupon in the mail for professional carpet cleaning for up to 4 rooms for $74. I contacted Envirocair and was very clear in the phone conversation that I didn't have a large area to clean, but that I was trying to get pet urine smell out of a carpet which was in an walk in closet area and a bedroom area (about 200 sq ft total), and could the company handle this type of request. The carpets don't look dirty, and aren't stained, but I wanted them to get the urine out. The man on the phone said, "of course we can, we do this for our business." I scheduled the appointment, and when the guys came to clean, they explained that it would be extra for the pet urine and charged me $94. When they moved a bed over, they scratched my wall. They took about 20 minutes and ran a little brush over the carpeted area. I paid them the $94 and they left.

I waited for the rugs to dry and determined that nothing was accomplished by them coming in, other than gouging my wall, spreading the urine around with the steam and alleged "sanitizer", and taking $94. I called and told them I wasn't happy with the outcome, and they said that they don't guarantee anything. I rebutted and said that when I made the appointment, I had asked them to do a specific job, which they said they could handle with their equipment and cleaning solutions, and they did not come through with what I had hired them to do. They offered to come back and do it again, and the man said he would call me right back to schedule another cleaning. He did not. I called him a week later, and he apologized and said "dispatch" would call me back. I waited another week and called them again. This time, I got a woman on the phone, and I said that I was not willing to play these games, and I felt it was only fair that she refund me my money or a fair portion of it. She argued and said that she would refund me $20, but wouldn't refund the original $74 because the men had come in and done the steam cleaning. I argued and said I didn't need my carpets "steam cleaned", I hired them to get the urine out of the carpet. I was getting nowhere with this person, so I decided to cut my loss, and take the $20. Then they demanded that I give them my email address, so I could "confirm" via an email that this complaint would be resolved with the $20 refund. I didn't want to give them my email, since I don't give emails out to people, but they wouldn't negotiate, so I just did it. I asked them NOT to send me a check, and to refund measly $20 my credit card. They didn't do what I told them, and sent me a check anyway. I took the $20 and rented a Rug Doctor at the grocery store, and that took care of the smell. Go figure. A "professional rug cleaning business" as they claim they are, couldn't do the job, but I could, and I know nothing about that line of work other than vacuuming my floors.

Not only does the service that they provide offer no value, they were the WORST people in the world to deal with. Totally unfair, and they basically stole my money. Don't use this company. They're nice and accommodating in the beginning, and will flat out LIE to your face when it comes to doing what they say they're going to do.

Air Duct Cleaning

We bought a Groupon to have Envirocair clean our air ducts. First they were an hour and a half late.

Then all they did was vacuum our vents. We could have vacuumed our own vents. What we really wanted was the ducts cleaned. Then they told us our heating and air system was really dirty, but that it would cost more than $500 to clean our entire system.

So now we get it. It's a ruse. They use the Groupon deal to get in the house so they can sell you on more expensive stuff.

Please, do not use this company! It is not worth the money spent.

I just had the same experience! They told me I have mold and they can fix it for $1000! I said no thanks and am calling a legit company to do a real inspection

I had a horrible experience as well. Bought Groupon, came in with shop vac, one guy started vacuuming the ducts, the other opened my AC return air, told me I had black mold and basically within a month, was going to die.

When I said I wasn't going to pay them $600.00 to organically clean my system, he told me what they came to do would not do any good, then told his helper to stop, just clean my dryer vent, then they left. Big rip off!

False Advertisement/Complete Scam/ Thiefs

This company is horrible. They falsely advertise there services, get in your house, claim they have completed a service they didn't, sell you things they don't have and can't do, then charge you an arm and a leg.

We had them come to our house to complete the Whole house package for $44 which is advertised as unlimited return and vents, we brush and vacuum each duct with rotating brushed, all the way to the main unit. When they got to the house they said they only vacuum and clean the exterior, and will only clean to the main unit for $99. They then put on a performance about mold, with masks and everything, selling a mold cleaning for $279, and UV lights for $250 all in the meantime making you feel pressured with two men breathing down your neck, and trying to scare you about the mold. We fell for it, they did a horrible job, they would have only done half of what they did if I hadn't followed them around saying hey what about this vent, or that vent...

They falsely sold me a light that was advertised differently both on a website and in person, to top it all off they broke my furnace and charged me $880. I shouldn't have paid, but with 2 men standing over me threatening me, I didn't know what else to do.

I should have called the police, I have now and will probably have to take these bastards to court. They are Thiefs.

EnviroCair Air Duct & Carpet Cleaning did a GREAT JOB!!!

I had an awful experience with a different local air duct cleaning company so I called EnviroCair. The technician was very accommodating and soft spoken (at least this one spoke English...), they did the job fully and cleaned after themselves.

The package we purchased included the dryer vent so they had that done as well, the amount of lint they got out of the dryer vent was troubling. the tech said this was a classic case of dryer vent fire danger.

Because we were impressed with the service we ever contracted them to perform additional work. We will recommend EnviroCair to all of our friends and associates.

i have serious doubts about the authenticity of this post

this company uses the classic "any man with a truck" policy. under tooled , under trained individuals who have no reason to bother changing as their business model is working.

collect a fee and hope that the homeowner is completely unaware. If not, well that customer is just a pain.

Wait and see if they happen to be the 10% who pursue us out of principle and if so then make right on our obligations. disgusting.

EnvironCAIR airduct & carpet cleaning

their advertisement stated that they will clean unlimited vents and dryer vent. They came to my house ,cleaned the vents on the main floor.Would not clean any other vents in the house. And had the guts to get mad at me and start yelling when I insisted the complete their own end of the contract.I called their office who referred me back to the same technician who I was having a problem with.So I had a copy of their advertisement which I told them that I will send to my Lawyer before they give in and very reluctantly and shoddily completed the work.

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY,ESPECIALLY,IF YOU LIVE IN MD,VA,DC AREAS

Same experience as the DC home owner.

Showed up. Just wanted to upsell. Did not clean anything except a few ducts on the 1st floor.

The guys got mad when I asked them to clean the rest of the vents.

Just paid them to get out. Worst experience ever.

Don't trust anything these guys tell you.

Broke a door, refused to fix it.

TERRIBLE experience! The technicians showed up at our house with a canister machine even though the ad clearly showed truck-mounted equipment.

They left water damage on the base of my grandmother's Ethan Allen bookshelves, grit all over the house after they "cleaned" the air vents. To top it all off, they broke a door in the basement and didn't tell us. The receipt states that any issues be submitted in writing within a certain time frame. Well, the address was nowhere in the receipt.

I had to look it up online. I called the company and the receptionist basically said I was wrong that the technician did not even open the door which is incorrect. My wife was there and watched him open the door! It worked fine when she was there.

She left the technician to do his job and when I came home, the door was broken. She claims no one else was down there. I contacted the company and got the run-around. It was after I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau that the owner contacted me.

He threatened a lawsuit against me for slander for posting a complaint with the BBB! He claims I had cost him countless dollars in revenue. By the way, Envirocair already has an "F" rating with the BBB BEFORE my complaint.

Even after speaking with my attorney, he STILL refused to fix the door! Bottom line, do NOT use this company!!

Please please file a complaint with the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Affairs (an odd pairing, I know). It's the only way to stop these crooks.

In fact, if you're up for it, file the same complaint in Montgomery County, DC, Fairfax, etc. Anywhere within their supposed 40-mile radius.

Stained my carpets as wife and I watched donot use

They did not honor any of the advertising, everything was a extra, the equipment leaked and did more damage to my carpet then anything else, had to have carpets done by professionals, this company should be shut down and have a major class action lawsuit against it, the whole company is full of rude people and I would recommend to all of you to not eve nwaste the time to call these people, I would have the Taliban or Al Quieda do wwork for me before using this firm of idiots. My wife and I watched the water continue to leak out forming a huge puddle on our carpets told employee and of course he all of a sudden he could not understand english, then when we complained a couple days later they tell me they can't get to my house for 10 days, when asked to reclean carpets they tell me It has been over 14 days and they will not do a thing unless I pay for another cleaning.

Just make sure you do not give these people the time of day. Stay far far away.

Please file a formal complaint with the Consumer Affairs office where you live and in Montgomery County and the State of Maryland. Virginia has the form online (Dept of Agriculture and Consumer Services).

They'll open an investigation if enough of us submit formal complaints. And in an election year, the Attorneys General could all use a big juicy investigation to show how they're looking out for the little guy.

Showed up for an advertised $44 duct cleaning and tried to charge me $750!!! Sketchy people, unmarked beat up truck, would never allow them near my home again!

I wouldnt have let these scraggly , homely looking people in my home if my husband wasnt home thats for sure. They never even attempted to do the work they were scheduled to do, when I said no way to the outlandish charge they walked right out.

I wish would have read the reviews first and saed myself an afternoon of being annoyed at these fools. Never ever again that is for sure!
