This company does not care if their customers contract Coronavirus. It is all about their bottomline.

The state department ,the majority of the sports, schools and colleges are closing angry cancelling. These people are telling the customers they will make decision they return from the cruise. WHAT?! Over 3600 cruisers health is endangered because they want to keep the money instead offering a certificate to cruise later or refund.

Below is part of a response from them:

Thank you for reaching out to The Smooth Jazz Cruise. I am sorry to hear that you will not be joining us this weekend for the cruise. Our mission this week is to continue to plan and produce the cruise, and cannot at this time describe or promise whether refunds or credits will be available. That is because there is uncertainty as to Celebrity's and travel insurance carriers' position on this matter.

We will be able to address those situations where guests have cancelled after the cruise is over.

Because you have purchased travel insurance, your claim would be best supported by a letter dated this week from a physician advising you not to cruise, and, if possible, giving the particular medical reasons why such cancellation should take place.

We thank you for your patience and understanding. We will be in touch again soon, but please know that Entertainment Cruise Productions and The Smooth Jazz Cruise will be fair to all, just as we have been for 20 years.

Regards,

Teresa Dennis

Travel Cancelation Reimbursement

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • Reservation for two on Smooth Jazz Cruise 2020.2 (Mar 14–21, 2020) for $6,450; State Dept advisory Mar 9, 2020; vouchers by Dec 2021; ECP reimb.

I recently booked a reservation for two ($6450.00) on The Smooth Jazz Cruise 2020.2 for March 14-21, 2020. The carrier for the cruise is Celebrity Cruise Line and the vendor is Entertainment Cruise Productions.

LLC (ECP). On Monday, March 9, 2020, The United States State Department issued recommendations that all US citizens restrict cruise travel due to the worldwide rapidly spreading coronavirus (Covid-19) infections.

Celebrity Cruise Line has recently put in place a new Cancelation Policy stating that all Celebrity Cruise Line travel cancelations will be reimbursed with equal value future travel vouchers that must be completed by December 2021.

When I attempted to cancel my reservations for The Smooth Jazz Cruise 2020.2 through ECP, I was told that they have "NOT DECIDED" how they are going to honor the cancelations recommended and supported by the US State Department. This decision would only be made after termination of the cruise and return to port on March 21, 2020.

Celebrity Cruise Line states that they would honor any and all cancelations, but reimbursement would have come from ECP.

It is my expectation for ECP to follow the same reimbursement policy of Celebrity Cruise Line and make this equal-value reimbursement before the sailing. This is a very risky time for travel and the State Department's advisory must be considered.

Unfortunately, I am experiencing the same problem with Entertainment Cruise Production, Smooth Jazz Cruise 2020 -2 as well. It appears that the health and safety of the cruisers is the least of their concern.

They quickly responded that the would not be reimbursing or applying any credits after saying that the would review it case because following the return in March.

The entire world is taking precautions but it’s all about the money for these guys. Truly disappointed in them.
