In my dealing with the English Inn, I was extremely disappointed with their methods of doing business. In the past, I've spent tens of thousands of dollars there.
Now this has become a restaurant and banquest facility that I will never return to and never recommend.
Their prior manager / owner apparently decided to let his son become the "managing partner." HUGE mistake in my opinion. I found them to be unaccomodating and I would not trust them again. I believe there are FAR better choices available in the Lansing, Michigan region for booking parties, weddings, events, etc.
Many of those choices are less expensive and more convenient to access.
It's sad to see what happens to some venues when new management comes in.

This customer is a lawyer who wanted to book the Inn for an event. The management of the Inn worked with him to determine what he wanted.
The management quoted a price and submitted a proposed contract to him which he signed. The manager then was contacted by the gentleman who wanted to renegotiate every detail of the contract.
When confronted by this management indicated that it would release him from the agreement but it could not accomodate the changes that he wanted to make in the signed contract. You would think that an attorney would understand that you negotiate the agreement first and then sign the contract.
