Wasted my time submitting beneficiary documents for deceased parent

Spent a great deal of time sending faxes, mailing notarized form and official death certificate after my parent passed. Received a letter stating the account had a zero balance. Called and was then told they moved the account two weeks prior to another company. Huge waste of time and customer service had the "not my problem" attitude. Couldn't even tell me where my official death certificate went. Said a third party company was handling the paperwork transfer.

User's recommendation: Avoid at all costs (Empower is also Mass Mutual).
