E&M Heating installed to large of a furnace !

In 2006, E&M Heating and AC of Denver, Colorado installed a new furnace in our home. We had remodeled our house adding an additional 1000 sq ft which included moving the furnace to a new location in part of the "new" house. We contracted with E&M to install the new ductwork and furnace. Unknown to us, E&M figured INCORRECTLY the size of furnace needed for our house. We trusted E&M to know what they were doing. Fast forward to 2009, and our furnace has blown a blower motor and cost us approximately $400 to replace. Would've been more but the warranty was factored in. We replaced the blower motor again in 2011 for around $700. This is due to the fact that the furnace is to large for our square footage, and does something called short cycling, which literally kills your furnace. Not to mention that for the last 8 years we've had high utility bills because the furnace cannot run properly. Recently we had the furnace cleaned and the repair guy said the furnace looks like it's 20 years old instead of 8 years old. It's falling apart and will need to be replaced. We've now had 2 separate furnace companies tell us the same thing....that the furnace is to large for our home. Why did E&M not know this ?
