Held my laptop ransom.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
My dad sent my laptop off to Elite for repair after it unexpectedly cut off and wouldn't turn back on again. He mistakenly did not check the reviews out properly like he usually does. They had my laptop for a month and did nothing to repair it in that time. I then decided to check the reviews and immediately realised that we'd made a mistake and decided to ask for it back. When we requested my laptop back we were then told we would have to pay an additional charge to get it back even though we had already paid them for a courier there and back.

Elite Phones And Computers - Repaired screen fell out. They accused me of tampering with it!?
Paid £150 through my contents insurance for repair. Screen fell out after they repaired it. Sent it back, they lost it in the post room for weeks, then said I had forced the screen back out, which everyone always does... rips the repair of the newly repaired phone straight back out. Now been without a phone for 3 months trying to chase this up, they offered to repair it again for £100 this time, which I wouldnt consider as I've already paid for this service which failed the first time around. No refund. I've contacted trading standards. In the future I would avoid these like the plague.

Quoted £47.50 fully inclusive of collection and delivery for the repair of a charging port on an iPhone 5 aA £17.50 deposit was required up front for the repair All tracking and status information advised by email throughout the job....... And then the problems started,. Payment required before the phone was shipped, I go to the payment page and it states £57. When I finally got through to them, they advised the quote was plus VAT ?? Perhaps my understanding of " Fully Inclusive" was wrong ?????? They then realised they has not taken off the deposit I managed to get this sorted eventually. Phone received, charging port fixed but the had damaged the microphone so I could not make calls ?? When I contacted them they said I had to send it back at my cost and they would determine if it was their fault and if they decided it wasn`t I would be charged full repair cost and carriage to get it back ?? After numerous wasted emails and continous responses of "read are terms" I have passed to the Trading Standards Office who believe they are in breach of clauses in the Consumer rights act. Avoid these people like the plague, I would never use them again if they were the last repair company in the world. Toatally amateur

Unbelievable, the worst experience I have ever had.

I came across them as Lenovo service agents, or so I thought. Should have checked. It took a month, cost more than the PC was worth. Simple task, fit a bigger SSD. Should have copped, the estimate was £25!! After two weeks they said the SSD I sent with it was faulty. It took two more weeks for them to get a new one. Then two weeks to fit it. No estimates, after three phone calls they said it was fixed, £200 for new SSD. Of course pay before delivery. Dreadful system for interacting with them. Five days for every message to be answered. Telephone was always "finished today" DON'T TOUCH THEM! Pass the word.

Lucky escape.

Sent my S5 neo for glass replacement. Quoted £59.99 and 48hr turnaround took £17.50 deposit. Collected by UPS and receipt of my phone confirmed. No contact after 4 days so made 2 update requests. Nothing. My third message was simple. Return my phone as they had clearly failed to fulfil their contract. I made it clear that I would report my phone stolen contact trading standards and commence legal proceedings for the loss of my phone together with a compensation claim for DATA loss if they failed to return it. Within 2 hours I received an email informing me my phone was repaired and would be dispatched for next day delivery as soon as I had paid the invoice. The invoice did not deduct the £17.50 deposit but I paid it anyway. To their credit after I mentioned this a new invoice was posted. I explained that I had already paid the first one and just wanted confirmation that my phone would be dispatched that day. This I received and my phone did indeed arrive safely. The repair was acceptable but it could have been better had they removed the excess glue from the edges of the screen and maybe cleaned the greasy fingerprints and removed the masking tape they had stuck over the back which also left a sticky residue over the camera lens. Reading other reviews I consider myself lucky. It could have been much worse I guess!

NEVER USE THEM, THEY HOLD YOUR GOODS TO RANSOM

EXTREMELY MISLEADING! initially quoted 67.50 for a laptop power jack repair. charged 17.50 deposit which I was not advised on the phone that this would NOT come off the initial quote. then I receive an email to advise that while the initial problem has been fixed, they short circuited my laptop and required an additional £35. I say yes I'll pay £85 do it, they then charge me £102.50 because my quote didn't include VAT. They basically will not return your item until you make payment they hold your item at ransom. for the sake of a £2 (supposed) saving I regret not going to the store local to where I stay. YOU USE THESE PEOPLE YOU REGRET IT

they did this exact same scam to me, over the course of the last month. even the costs were identical, with the same trick of suddenly finding a short-circuit on the motherboard just as they finished the power jack repair which cost an additional £35.

i paid it and got my laptop back, and now it doesn't even turn on. absolute crooks.

Sent 3 month old phone in for a volume rocker repair (~£50). Once received they 'found' a lead that needed replacing for another £100+. Refused to pay and asked for my phone back without the repair done which they refused and held my phone hostage. Eventually agreed to spend the money if it got me my phone back. at which point they 'lost' the device. They claimed the phone on their insurance and used the £600+ payout to line their pockets and instead sent me a reconditioned phone that crashes daily and overheats. Forced to fork out for a brand new phone at my own cost. Disgraceful Complete bunch of fraudsters and a racket for screwing over trusting people (of which I am no longer one).

I suspect this business is run by bunch of crooks rather than professionals. They are not only incompetent, dishonest but also arrogant and irresponsible. Kept my phone (note 4) for more than 2 months and didn't repair. Initially lost it and couldn't locate my phone when I visited them all the way from Bedford (to Eccles, Manchester) and were arrogant and indifferent and didn't even respond to my complaint or apologised. Unfortunately I had no way of getting even and at one time I wanted to complain to ombudsman but I didn't have enough time to follow up. They must have sold my device to someone else and made money out of it. Do not be fooled by their website claims

I sent my Dell tablet to them for repair because the charging port was not working. They quoted me £67.50 plus VAT for the repair. After several days without any feedback, I contacted them via their website, and they said the device was in the last stages of repair. Then they discovered there was a fault with the motherboard. After several more days waiting, they told me there was a problem with the hard drive. Then they decided the hard drive was OK, but there was a problem with the software, and they wanted a further £45.00 plus VAT for the additional repair. I insisted that the only problem when I sent the tablet to them was the faulty charging port, but I needed the device back, so had to pay the extra charge. When I finally got the tablet back (about three weeks after sending it), I found the following: 1. The charging port was working (that's the good news!) 2. The operating system on the tablet when I sent it was Windows 10 Professional - when returned it had Windows 8!!! 3. The Windows 8 installation has not been activated, and they will not supply an activation key - so the tablet is unuseable. 4. All data and programs on the tablet have been deleted. In the end, I had to go out and buy a new tablet, as I had to have one for my business while travelling. I am now pursuing this matter through Trading Standards and the Small Claims Court, but this will take time to fully resolve. DO NOT USE THEM.

Sent iPad mini on 21Dec 2016 for advertised 48hr turnaround, I appreciate its was Christmas so expected it to be away for a week. No messages from Elite so called on 2 Jan 2017. Problems still hadn't been diagnosed. Message 5 days later stating it was a faulty charger and that it would cost £90. I advised go ahead. Wed 11 Jan 2017 I received a message stating that my iPad would be finished in the next 24hrs. I called on Saturday wondering where it was to be told it can't be fixed by them so they are sending it back to me!. What a Cowboy outfit, please avoid!!!

I booked a laptop repair after being directed to Elite Phones And Computers via a Lenovo repair company. I immediately got a bad feeling about the company and googled them. Saw the reviews and immediately called to cancel. This entire process took 10 minutes and they refused to refund the £17.50 'deposit' despite the 10 minutes I had been a 'customer'. Simply avoid. Definitely they used it as parts! unreliable unprofessional dodgy service.. they make it easy for you to send you item to them. and then they tell you we won't be able to fix it and ask you for a big amount of money as the delivery fees after telling you its not going to work so they can keep it for them!! I will take that way further! this is FRAUD!!!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! COWBOYS!

My Galaxy note 4 died unexpectedly & stupidly I sent my phone to this company. They charged 17.50 to arrange a UPS collection that they said would come off my repair bill. Originally they stated it would be repaired in 3 days. I waited and had no response. Once I got in touch with them they said it was with the repair team longer than expected. Finally over a week later they emailed me to say it would cost 200 plus VAT to fix! Or they can send it back to me for £9.99. I finally got my phone back after they told UPS the wrong village! Which I had to sort out myself! Once i inspected the phone it had dirty finger prints all over it! The back was dirty & the sim in the phone was not mine! I am on 3 mobile and I got an EE sim! Also 2 screws were missing from the back of the phone! I have blocked my sim & got a new one from 3 because god knows how is using it now! I am in the process of getting in touch with trading standards the service was that bad! AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!!
